Kairav dashed forward, using the young man's back as a solid stepping stone, launching himself high into the air toward the Gong Ageng mallet above. Just as the beastly Ahool surged toward them, its body moving like a shadow, Kairav reached the mallet and swung with all his might.

The deafening echo of the gong reverberated through the chamber, and Kairav landed on the root bridge just as a piercing shriek tore from the monster's throat.
