Chapter 43 - †APOLOGIZED†

After the intense confrontation and apologies, the room fell silent, with Aria's anger disappearing while Samuel bleeding nose made him regret in pain about his actions.

Ryan little rage also reduced and he grinned seeing Samuel's nose, at least that would teach him a lesson.

Samuel bleeding nose hasn't stopped and Ryan swiftly exited the room, entering the bedroom where he had seen a small towel.

Ryan grabbed the towel he had seen in the bedroom and ran it under cold water in the bathroom.

The water dripped from the towel as he returned to the sitting room. "Here, man, clean yourself up," Ryan said, handing the damp towel to Samuel.

Samuel took the towel gratefully, his nose still bleeding. He gently pressed it to his nose, wincing as the cold water touched his tender skin.

Aria watched and she started to feel bad at the way Samuel nose swell, she had even forgotten how her injuries pain decreased when she gave Samuel that hard punch.

"Thanks," Samuel muttered, his voice muffled by the towel still dabbing at his nose.

Ryan nodded and turned to Aria " Are you okay" he asked while Aria spoke up.

"I need some space."Ryan understood while Samuel just kept his head down and continued to clean his nose.

Aria grasped her walking stick for support. She needed time to process the turbulent emotions swirling within her.

With the stick's aid, Aria began her small journey to the bedroom, each step a pain to her but she is starting to get the hang of it.

As she vanished from their sight, Ryan walked to the couch and sat on it with Samuel at his side, the silence between them heavy, like an unspoken accusation.

Samuel broke the silence. "I know messed up, Ryan but I don't know what happened. It was an accident and I was half asleep." Ryan didn't respond immediately, his expression was in understanding. He knew Samuel would never intentionally do that to Aria even though they don't know eachother very well.

"I know it was an accident, Samuel," Ryan finally said, the regret in Samuel eyes also made Ryan understand that Samuel was truly not doing it intentionally

Aria entered into the bedroom and she closed the door softly behind her, the bedroom's calm atmosphere enveloped her as she spotted her backpack still sitting on the floor beside the bed, they hadn't eaten since morning, and Aria knew they needed sustenance.

She thought about the canned foods still in the bag, a lifesaver in their uncertain situation.

With her stick still supporting her injured leg, Aria walked slowly to the bed. She lowered herself onto the mattress and picked up the backpack, its worn fabric familiar in her hands. She opened it, and she found the supplies still intact.

Aria's hands moved quietly into her opened bag and she pulled out two cans of food and placed them beside her on the bed.

She remembered the clothes she had left in the bag and brought them out too, neatly folding them beside the food. The soft fabric of the shirts and pants reminded her of when she had woken up in that abandoned hotel.

"I need a bath," she thought, feeling the stickiness on her skin. The sweat and dirt from their journey still cling to her, a constant reminder of their life or death situation. Her hair felt greasy and her skin felt tight.

She thoughts drafted to Ryan and she started to think about his calm and steady presence that gave hope to her, his unwavering support and help had been a constant source of her survival, she would have been dead if not for him.

Aria's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of muffled voices from the sitting room. Ryan and Samuel were talking amd She wondered what they were discussing.

Aria shook her head, dismissing the thought. It shouldn't concern her what Samuel and Ryan were discussing in the living room. She had more pressing matters to attend to, like ensuring they all had sustenance.

She rummaged through her backpack again, pulling out two bottles of water and placing them beside the canned food on the bed. .

They must be hungry, Aria thought but she couldn't carry all the items at once the canned food and the water with one hand, especially her injured hand. She was already using a stick with her good hand to walk.

She carefully picked up one bottle of water and one can of food, wincing as her injured hand protested. The pain was manageable, but she knew she needed to be cautious.

"I'll make two trips," she decided and made her way to the living room, her stick supporting her. Each step was hard with her injured leg throbbing.

Aria stopped at the closed door, her hand full with the bottle of water, can of food and her stick. She paused, thinking on how she could open the door without dropping anything or straining her injured leg, her injuries throbbed, reminding her to be cautious.

"Should I kick it open?" she thought but she was inside the room not outside and that won't work. "Or should I call out for Ryan or Samuel?" she considered but she didn't want to draw attention to herself, not yet. She needed to maintain her composure after all her outburst.

Aria decided to use her her Good hand to open the door, she carefully leaned against the wall and dropped her stick leaning on the wall with her and she open the door.

Aria smiled satisfied. Her problem-solving skills had paid off and she entered the living room, Ryan and Samuel looked up at the sound of the door been opened.

"Hey," Ryan said softly, standing up from the couch to assist her. Samuel's eyes dropped, shame written across his features. His shoulders slumped.

"Let me help," Ryan offered, gently taking the bottle of water and can of food from Aria's hands.

"Thanks" She said.
