Break ended quickly and so did the day. Jayson spent it all with Havey and other new friends who were trying to befriend them, not that it was a usual occurrence, always happens and probably would never stop. Havey brightened up his day making him forget about the bad situation he has placed himself, at least for a while and that is what he needed, to clear his mind.
"So.... will you go for training today", Havey asked Jayson as they got out of their last class for the day.
"Yeah I have to go, we have a match next month".
"I will also go for practice then", she hugged Jayson and left while saying.
"Don't think too much about your brother". Just as she said that, a smooth calm voice resounded from behind.
"*Sighs*, Just kiss for once dude", Malik, another good friend of theirs said as he greeted both of them. Malik is a very tall teenager, even taller than Jayson by few centimeters even though he was considered really tall by his age. He is a Canadian with short spikey black hair and is slightly brown eyes with a nice accent, also part of the school's basketball team.
"So.... have you heard about the match with Hiltons Academy next month", Malik asked Jayson.
"Yeah it's going to be a tough one", Jayson rubbed his hair stressfully as he was already thinking about how vicious those bunch were.
As Jayson and Malik begun talking about basketball stuff, Havey excused them and left the corridor. They also left shortly after towards the basketball locker room, reaching there, some other players have already arrived and changing into the outfit, others were changed and conversing with each other.
Jayson greeted everyone as usual and also changed, after he was done he joined in the boys conversation as they were talking about Hiltons Academy and they wanted to know more about them and how to play against them in the upcoming match.
Hiltons Academy is a very famous school, not famous because of a good deed but rather a bad one, as it was full of violent and vile people, some even gangsters and their method of winning their games was not a normal one as they will do everything they can to win their games even using violent methods.
Jayson and his team mates continued talking about Hiltons Academy until someone changed the topic, they also talked about it and topics after topics all this because they were waiting for their coach who hadn't arrived yet, until it came to a topic that turned Jayson's mood sour.
"Can you believe my little brother took a huge sum of money from my dad's account and what he did to him made me even scared", a guy with dreadlocks voiced out.
"No way, what did your dad to him", another guy asked him with a surprised expression.
"He disgraced him in the family and sent him to another family to serve as a servant for a year as punishment".
"That's really cold if you ask me", the team's captain, who was as tall as Malik with short brown hair style voiced out his opinion.
"I wouldn't want to be in that position".
"Me too"
One by one, they all gave out their opinion on how brutal the punishment was. Meanwhile Jayson was freaking out like crazy, he wanted the conversation to end quickly but it's intensity was rather increasing as some begun talking about how their friends took money from their parent's credit card and how they got severely punished, unable to handle it, Jayson stood up abruptly and checked the time on his phone, acting like he is late for something.
"Shoot! guys I have to go, I'm late", he took his bag, not even waiting for any responses and left the locker room. It sure did raise suspicious eyes but they soon forgot about him as they realized that training time was already over.
Jayson got to the parking lot and stood beside his car sighing heavily as the recent events flooded his mind.
"What should I do.... what should I do, what should I do", Jayson kept murmuring under his breath almost getting a headache for that.
"Do what", Malik suddenly appeared beside him like a ghost. "Ah dude, you almost gave me a heart attack", Jayson placed his hand on his heart while panting lightly.
"Havey told me you are acting strangely today and she is worried about you", Malik came closer to Jayson which creeped him out and whispered.
"You acted strange in the locker room.... tell me, what's wrong man, you know you can trust me".
This time Jayson felt like he had no way of getting out of this, all odds were against him, Havey had already told Malik about how weird he acted today which means she doesn't fully believe his fake story and Malik has seen him acting strange in the locker room. No matter how many excuses he thinks of nothing will be able to please Malik, besides he is very bad at lying so in the end he just had to give up.
"Get inside the car", after some moment of silence, Jayson invited Malik into his car and closed all windows and doors not wanting anyone to hear what they were about to say.
After some moments of consideration, Jayson decided to tell Malik the truth as he knew that Malik is one of his close friends and he has already lied to his best friend which pained him like hell. He didn't want to lie to Malik and he is not like he is not someone who he has no trust in. Moreover he needs money quickly and maybe Malik will be able to help.
"Sighs, promise me you won't freak out".
"Chuckles why would I freak out", Malik laughed lightly.
"Ok thus more than enough...Uhmmmmmm", Jayson cleared his throat.
"I mistakenly used 500 million from my dad's account for a horse race and lost".
Malik almost fainted as the amount mentioned bashed through his head like a hammer.
"Dude! 500 million dollars", Malik voiced out loud almost screaming but no noise could be heard outside as the glasses were soundproof.
"Dude I thought you said you wouldn't freak out"
"Do you understand the severity of the situation, your dad could literally kill you or worse disown you", Malik was still freaking out for Jayson.
"I get it Malik that is why I need the money quickly... please help me", Jayson pleaded.
Malik didn't say anything after and placed his hand on his chin deep in his own thought.
After a few minutes which felt like an eternity for Jayson, Malik finally came out of his thought.
"How much money do you have now", he asked him in a dead serious tone. Jayson also didn't joke around and told him the truth.
"Almost 20 million dollars".
"Sighs, I guess I have no choice then", Malik murmured under his breath but it was loud enough for Jayson to hear.
"What choice"
"See, I like you very much man and I really want to help you but first you have to understand this". Malik paused for a while before he continued, making Jayson nervous.
"Your life will be at great risk if you really want to do this... I know how to make you far richer than you can imagine that is if you are up to this".
Malik stopped talking and waited for Jayson to digest the information as he was shocked to hear that he had a way of making him far richer than he can imagine.
First of all, Malik didn't have parents, and he was leaving alone without any relative.
Secondly, how did he get that much money to pay the fees of the school which was no small amount, his cars and his house, so he couldn't imagine how Malik was able to make that money.
Jayson will be called a liar if he wasn't curious to know how Malik made his money.
As Malik saw that Jayson was in deep contemplation, he got out of the car and leaned on the window and said one last thing before leaving.
"Jayson, remember this is just a help I offered... think through this very well it's not like you don't have a choice... but if you decided to go with what I propose, meet me at Burndown cemetery at 9:00pm".
After Malik left, a few minutes later, Jayson's started the engine and drove his car slowly towards his house whiles thinking about the whole conversation he had with Malik.
"Malik acted like a totally different person today, chuckles, and what is Burndown cemetery about, upon all the places we could have met.... why that place". Jayson was so confused because the place Malik wanted them to meet was a place no one would ever dream of going... and also not anywhere but the cemetery, it sure looked really suspicious, no matter how good a friend Malik is, any reasonable person would think twice or would not even think about it and discard any thought of going to that town.
Burndown town, the reason it was called that is because a few years ago, for some unknown reason that even scientist couldn't understand the phenomena, that place got destroyed in a single night and turned into a ghost town with many ruined buildings, and for how the town wasn't constructed during all those years it was destroyed, it was simple, anytime the government sends constructors and workers, some never returned and those who managed to do so come with heavy trauma and die shortly after.
After multiple attempts and failure, the government decided not to endanger anyone's life so they sealed the town with police tapes and named it Burndown town.
Without any reasonable explanation, some religious group believed that it was the work of God as he punished the town for committing too many sins and burned the town into a sacred town and that anyone who ventures there shall never return.
But the government simply believed that it was the work of their enemies to simply ease the tension of the public.
