Chereads / AULL'S CALL / Chapter 4 - Werewolves

Chapter 4 - Werewolves

Werewolves, of course, who wouldn't know about them, as there was no normal wolf that could tower over a human unless it's an abnormality that has never been seen or heard before.

Mythical creatures only known in books were standing in front of Jayson, leading him to one conclusion, but he still couldn't accept it even though he had watched a lot of movies about werewolves and read many novels like AULL's CALL. It was just the fact that he wasn't willing to believe.

Jayson, instead of running away or at least trying to escape, was standing still, unmoving and quivering in fear.

"Move, body... MOVE!!" Jayson screamed in his mind, but all that happened was just a shaking body.

He wanted to run for his life, but for some reason, his legs didn't move, not even his head, as he kept staring at the bright blue eyes of the werewolf. Right now, he wanted nothing more than to break Malik's limbs for bringing him to this hell, but instead, he got his shoulder bitten by the werewolf.

It opened its jaw widely and bit Jayson's shoulder while he was still frozen in fear. He expected the werewolf to take a huge chunk out of his shoulder, but instead, its eyes grew brighter, and Jayson felt something entering his body. As most people would expect it to be pleasurable, he actually felt the worst pain he had ever experienced in his life.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!" Jayson screamed at the top of his lungs until his already dry throat became sore and hoarse. After about five minutes of hellish pain, the werewolf could still be seen biting Jayson's shoulder, its shining blue eyes growing dimmer and dimmer until it showed a confused expression. As for Jayson, he had already fallen unconscious from the extreme pain, and as a result of losing too much blood, his limbs were also lying beside him, unmoving as if dead.

The werewolf finally gave up what it was trying to do and, instead of losing its jaw, it actually raised Jayson high up and walked toward the streets, dropping him in the middle.

After that, the werewolf's body could be seen shrinking to the size of a human; its fur retracted back into its body and its eyes reverted to a slightly brown human color.

With short, spiky black hair and a tall, lean but masculine figure, the human walked back into town with a disappointed expression.

Six hours later...

In a house of the Khlayd, Nephis could be seen in her usual pajamas moving toward Jayson's room. She twisted the handle of the door with the intention of opening it, but she realized it was locked.

It had become normal for her to open his door without knocking, but this time the door was locked, and she found it weird as he almost never locks his door.

She didn't think too much after the first knock and waited for a while, but no response came from the other side. She tried again, but this time she shouted Jayson's name out loud, though not enough to awaken the sleeping ones. Again, no response or sound of the door opening was heard, which made her frown deeply.

She took her phone and dialed his number, but it didn't go through, which could only mean one thing.

"Where has Jayson gone at this time? It's just 5 AM, and it's not even time for school," Nephis muttered under her breath. She couldn't find any reason why Jayson had left home at this time of day or maybe he just slept too deeply or turned off his phone. Either way, she didn't think too much about it and decided to check later.

"That brat has been acting strange since yesterday morning... I need to find a reason," she cursed under her breath as she walked back to her room in anger. She was so annoyed at Jayson's strange behavior that she wanted nothing more than to beat the truth out of him.

Two hours quickly passed by, and it was 7 AM. The sun slowly rose from the east, illuminating the world in its golden-orange glow, beautifying it in the process.

In one of the tall, magnificent buildings in the bustling city, moving to one of the dozens of apartments, a young teenager with a bare upper torso could be seen covered in bandages from the left shoulder to the arm, lying comfortably on a bed that seemed to cost tens of thousands... probably sleeping. Actually, the whole room looked really expensive; maybe it was the apartment of a rich lord.

"Mmmm... mmm," soft moans could be heard coming from the bed as the eyelids of the young teenager twitched from time to time, struggling to open.

Thud!

Jayson stood up abruptly from the bed and opened his eyes wide; a golden glint passed through them in a millisecond that was barely noticeable and could easily be ignored.

"Huhh... huhhh... huhhh, what the heck happened to me?" Jayson panted lightly to himself.

"Where am I?" Looking around, he realized that he wasn't in his house.

"Ahhnnn!!!" Jayson held his head in pain as a wave of memories about last night flashed through his mind. The last part he remembered was being bitten by a werewolf, then losing consciousness after screaming in pain for so long, and as for how he got here, he didn't know.

"My arm," he checked his bitten shoulder in a hurry, afraid that it wouldn't be there, but of course, it was covered in bandages. The strange thing he felt was that there was no pain but instead a full strength he had never felt before; in fact, his whole body felt much lighter and stronger. Just to be sure, he removed the bandages, and what he saw shocked him to the core.

His badly broken arm was nowhere to be found, but a healthy one was instead; at this point, his mind couldn't comprehend this—there were no scars and not even a sign that it had been fractured hours ago.

Just as Jayson was looking at his arm in amazement, the door to the room opened slowly, revealing a breathtaking beauty who seemed to be around his age.

She had silky snow-white hair that flowed down to her waist, peerless smooth skin, and beautiful blue eyes that amazed Jayson. A tall, lean figure with the right proportions and assets—a lady that even handsome men would feel ashamed to approach.

Chloe—that was her name.

"What are you staring at?" Chloe said with her beautiful voice but an indifferent expression.

"Ummm, I'm so sorry. I didn't know I was staring so much."

Jayson apologized, totally forgetting about his abnormal conditions.

"Anyways, I'm Chloe, and to get straight to the point, I'm interested in you."

"What!" Jayson almost choked as he couldn't believe a breathtaking beauty like this would just fall in love with someone she just met for the first time.

"Sorry, but I'm Jayson Tylander, and although I thank you deeply for saving my life, I don't think I'm ready to enter a relationship."

A frown formed on Chloe's face as she looked at Jayson, who was examining his bloodied tattered hoodie that was on the side of the bed.

"What are you talking about? I'm not interested in that; I'm interested in your body," she said, pointing at him.

"Get to the point." Jayson didn't like the way she was talking even though she saved his life.

Chloe didn't say anything after and went towards a huge comfy sofa and sat on it elegantly as she took a hot cup of coffee that was already prepared on the table. All of this gestured that this was going to be a very long talk. Jayson also realized this and sat on the bed.

"First of all, you're not a human, or let me put it this way: you're no longer human."

Just the first sentence was enough to put his mind into chaos. Since he got bitten by the werewolf, and as it was common language that one would be turned into a werewolf if bitten by one, the movies and novels were enough to prove that. Even how his arm healed overnight.

The truth was just there right in front of him, but it was too difficult for him to accept.

"So does this mean that..."

"Are you a werewolf?" Jayson asked with a shocked expression.

A small smile cracked on Chloe's beautiful face, a smile that could wage war, and Jayson was thinking nothing but that. The fact that she just smiled at the question was enough to let him know that werewolves were indeed real and he had now become one.

"So I'm a werewolf now?" Just to be sure, Jayson asked her.

"I don't know; you don't smell like one," Chloe answered bluntly. "Smell! Huhh, then what am I?" He was so confused. First, she said he was no longer human, and the only possible thing he could become is a werewolf.

"You are neither a human nor a werewolf; you're not even a vampire. That's why I want to examine your body. Who knows, maybe you're a new species and I'll be the first to discover it." Chloe took a sip from the mug as she stared at Jayson's wide open emerald green eyes.
