Chapter 69 - Chapter 66 Must Surrender

Of course, Yuya knows that the Uzumaki envoys are in a hurry, but there's no need to worry yet.

"Let me take you to see the steel factory first."

Yuya led the envoys to the steel plant, which had been expanded into 15 factories and could now be called the Steel Industrial Park.

The sight of fifteen combined steel plants was quite impressive.

At the very least, the Uzumaki envoys' eyes widened in astonishment.

Afterward, Yuya took them to the food processing factory park.

It housed a canning factory, a specialized snack processing factory for biscuits, fructose, and various snacks, among others.

There was also a livestock farm, though it was farther away, located several kilometers north of Konoha Village, near the mountainous area.

The farm had a variety of cattle, horses, pigs, and sheep. However, their numbers were still small. Yuya planned to raise over 100,000 of each animal before starting meat sales to bring down the exorbitant price of meat.

Currently, meat prices were nearly a hundred times those of vegetables.

Yuya considered this unacceptable—at most, the price difference should only be twenty times.

Even though the vegetables available now were essentially wild, selling for just one or two taels per pound, the future of Konoha would inevitably require planned cultivation of vegetables.

However, Konoha's industrialization remained incomplete. While it was far ahead compared to other major nations—most of whom still relied on dirt roads—it still fell short of Yuya's standards.

"At the very least," Yuya mused, "we need to complete the industrial foundation: producing clothing and other essential products."

Afterward, Yuya took the Uzumaki envoys to visit Konoha's beverage factory and then planned to show them the textile factory and brewery under construction.

He decided not to show them the secondary steel processing plant, where steel was made into farm tools, pots, pans, and other daily necessities.

As for the tertiary processing plant, where steel was forged into weapons, Yuya purposely avoided including it in the tour. The technological gap between the secondary and tertiary processes wasn't large, and Yuya knew better than to risk sharing secrets.

After all, in the Naruto world, there could always be a genius capable of photographic memory and reverse engineering. It was better to play it safe.

"Agent!"

Though Yuya still had many places in mind to visit, the ninja leading the envoy group finally couldn't bear it anymore. He took a deep breath and addressed Yuya politely:

"We, visitors from the small nation of Uzumaki, have fully understood Konoha's industrial progress. Now... could you please introduce us to the esteemed Hokage?"

Yuya blinked, then smiled.

"Oh! You want to meet Hokage-sama? Hahaha, you should've mentioned that earlier!"

The Uzumaki envoys let out a collective sigh of relief. They didn't have time to waste, but their lower status meant they had to endure.

Yuya's laughter filled the air, and he apologized for the misunderstanding.

"Hahahaha!"

However, Yuya's tone shifted abruptly.

"No." His smile vanished, replaced by a serious expression.

"Gah?! What?!"

Yuya narrowed his eyes and repeated, "Hokage-sama doesn't want to see you."

The Uzumaki envoy looked shocked.

"Why?! Konoha and Uzumaki have shared a friendship for generations! The First Hokage himself forged this bond with the Uzumaki clan leader when he founded the village!

The Second Hokage is the younger brother of the First Hokage! How could he break the promises of the First Hokage?"

The Uzumaki envoy turned and pointed accusingly at Yuya.

"It must be you! You must be lying! Take us to the Hokage immediately!"

As the envoy lunged forward, Uchiha Kagami stepped in, dodging swiftly and pressing a kunai against the Uzumaki envoy's neck.

The envoy froze.

Yuya patted Uchiha Kagami's shoulder, signaling him to step back. Kagami put away the kunai and retreated behind Yuya.

Yuya stared down at the defiant envoy, shaking his head with a sigh.

"You talk of generations of friendship, but don't you think what you said is ridiculous?" Yuya's voice boomed as he grabbed the envoy by the collar, pulling him down to eye level.

The Uzumaki ninjas tensed and reached for their weapons, but Uchiha Kagami's Sharingan activated, freezing them in place.

"Eternal friendship?" Yuya's voice rose. "Your so-called friendship is nothing more than collecting tolls from Konoha merchants without offering a shred of support!

When our merchants pass through your country, they pay you fairly. The least you could do is provide a team of ninja escorts to ensure safe passage. But have you ever done that? No!

Konoha loses cargo ships every year near your waters because of whirlpools and undercurrents. Although the losses are small, your negligence ensures they continue.

And now, when Kirigakure refuses to pay your tolls and wants to destroy you instead, you suddenly remember our so-called friendship?"

Yuya released the envoy, his voice seething with anger.

"Tell me, where is your shame? Where is your gratitude? Has your country of Uzumaki ever done a single thing to benefit Konoha? Not once! Yet now you demand our help?"

Yuya's words carried an undeniable force, silencing the envoy.
