With the ship now sailing southeast, Lucas lounged on the main deck, grumbling, "Damn it, it would've been better if this had a compass... Hey, wait." Suddenly, he remembered something. "Activate armor feature," Lucas commanded. His Omnitrix lit up, and a purple light flashed as he was now clad in futuristic combat armor. He shook his head, looking through his helmet at the display showing characters he couldn't understand.
"Haa, of course I wouldn't understand. It was made by a Galvan, after all," he mused. "Fine then," he said as his eyes lit purple. "I'll just use a Galvan brain." He used Grey Matter's super mind to understand what he was seeing. "Ohhh! I'm currently heading south at a 30-degree angle," he exclaimed, now able to make sense of the display. "Hmm, so this is what it feels like to be smart," he mused. He deactivated his armor and stopped channeling the Galvan mind, using partial transformation.
"Pirate ship ahead!" a marine officer said, looking through a scope on the crow's nest.
"Get ready, men," the captain of the ship ordered as the others prepared for contact.
"What... I only see one person," the lookout said.
"That can't be right. Maybe they're hiding," another suggested. As the ships approached each other, close enough to allow the marines to board, they flocked to the Sparrow Pirates' ship. Lucas, sleeping on the main deck, was woken up by the noise.
"Haa. What's happeni..." he mumbled as he saw himself surrounded by Marines.
"Captain, we found no other persons, and this ship seems to have been raided," a marine officer reported, returning to the main deck.
"Alright, talk. Who are you and where's the rest of your crew?" the captain demanded.
Slightly dazed, Lucas sat there for a moment. "Now that I think about it, I thought it would be cool to be an OP character in One Piece. But now that I'm here, what do I want? Do I want to enjoy life? I can be an adventurer to avoid troubles for myself. Being a marine is out of the question; I'll never join. Do I want to be a pirate? Should I start my own crew? Hmm. There's a lot to think about." He sat cross-legged, thinking deeply.
"Did you not hear me? Who are you and wh..." the captain repeated.
"I don't know," Lucas replied, cutting him off. The captain became slightly frustrated at the delay and such an answer.
"To be precise, I'm not quite sure yet. But thinking it through, it'd be cool to go on a journey with the Straw Hats. I'm a big Luffy fan, and I think I'd enjoy my time with them. And since I can literally go anywhere at any time, it'd be kinda nice to enjoy my time here, kinda like a vacation," Lucas said.
"Yeah, spending vacation as a pirate," he said, finally making up his mind. Knowing the amount of power he had now and the long lifespan he had, he thought he could spend his time in the One Piece world as a vacation, enjoying himself. The marine captain didn't understand nor care about any of this, but after hearing Lucas talk about becoming a pirate, it was enough for him to issue an arrest.
"So you admit that you're a pirate, huh?" the captain said. "Well then, I'll show you what I do to pirates," he said, trying to restrain Lucas.
Lucas turned into Jetray. "It's not like I need a ship anyway," he said as he flew off the ship. With sonic speed, he continued his course.
"What was that just now?" the lieutenant asked, eyes wide with confusion.
"He must have Devil Fruit powers, but to think he'd be willing to leave his ship behind," the captain mused, watching as Lucas disappeared into the distance.
"Umm, captain," an officer called out.
"What is it now?" the captain replied, irritation creeping into his voice.
"Well, actually, the ship is still somehow moving on its course. It hasn't stopped moving," the officer informed, shocking the captain and the rest of the crew. They didn't know that Lucas had set a spell on it to head in one direction until it found land. They were stunned and didn't know how to respond.
"I've already reached an island," Lucas said, spotting land not far ahead. Although he knew Jetray was fast, he was still taken aback a little. But he would soon need to get used to it since he could turn into any alien he wanted. All one million-plus aliens were accessible to him, and the thought of this excited him. As he landed, he transformed back into his high elf form.
"Those bird pirates sure had a couple of gold on them and some stuff I could sell," he said, walking up the shore of the island. The area where he landed wasn't very crowded, and he wasn't particularly noticed. "I'll sell the useless things and stock up on supplies. Good thing I'm knowledgeable about my transformation abilities, including the general magic a high elf from *Magician From the Past* would know," he said, referencing his dimension storage and all other spells he could do in this form. He thought he might need to relearn magic.
He entered some pawnshops, selling the clothes those pirates had, keeping only the good ones. "I also want to buy some clothes..." Lucas said as he browsed around while waiting for his money.
"Here you go, sir. One hundred and forty-five thousand berries," the cashier said, handing him the money.
"Do you have any fabric? Get me as much as you can," Lucas requested.
"I'll just make my own clothes using alchemy," he thought as he saw something of interest. The cashier replied with a shake of her head.
"I'm sorry, but we don't sell fabric here. However, I can refer you to a store that does," she said, giving him directions. Following them, he went on his way to buy fabric.
Lucas followed the directions given by the cashier and soon found himself in front of a quaint little fabric shop. The sign above the door read "Stitch in Time." He chuckled at the name before stepping inside.
"Welcome! How can I help you today?" the shopkeeper greeted him with a warm smile.
"I'm looking for some fabric. Lots of it," Lucas replied, scanning the colorful rolls of fabric lining the walls.
"Well, you've come to the right place! What kind of fabric are you looking for?" the shopkeeper asked.
"Anything durable is fine and I don't mind the colour aswell," Lucas said, trying to sound casual.
"Now that I think about it. If I can use alchemy, can't I just make clothes out of literary anything." He slapped his forehead.
As the shopkeeper helped him gather the fabric, Lucas couldn't help but feel dumb, although he didn't care about the money he just spent, he still made a stupid move.
Lucas stepped out of the shop, his arms full of materials. "Alright, time to get to work," he muttered to himself. The fabric he was holding vanished on his arms, "Let's find an inn first" he said.
After a while, in the room he booked in an inn, he managed to create a set of sturdy, stylish clothes. "Not bad, if I do say so myself," he said, admiring his handiwork, making clothes that looked similar to his back on Earth. He packed up his supplies and decided to explore the island a bit more.
As he wandered through the bustling market, he couldn't help but notice the odd looks he was getting. "Right. I'm an elf so pointy ears are out of the norm here," he thought, amused.
