Lisa and Estabel stood at the door of Brian's hospital room, gazing at the scene before them. Linda sat closely beside Brian, her fingers wrapped around his hand as though she belonged there. Mrs. Priscilla, who was seated, had a guarded expression, but when she noticed Lisa at the door, her expression changed to that of guilt, which lasted for some minutes before she was able to put up a guarded expression again.
Estabel took a deep breath with a determined face and was the first to break the silence; she looked at Brian, addressing him directly. "Brian, this needs to be settled right now." Her tone was clear, but not calm.
Brian glanced at her, his brow knitted together in confusion. "Settle what? What are you talking about?"
Estabel turned to him, her eyes sharp. "Don't you want to know who stayed by your side after your accident, who has always been there for you in this room before the surgery?"
