Lisa looked up, barely making out the figure of
the stranger who had saved her from the unwelcome touch of the man at the bar. She couldn't see his face clearly, but his voice sounded very familiar. A tone she couldn't quite place but her mind was foggy, too blurred by drink to sort through memories
"Are you okay?" he asked, in a low voice while he took a seat nearby, his gaze steady and calm.
Lisa nodded, though she could barely hold her head up. "Yeah, I am fine, thank you. Just waiting for a friend," she mumbled in a go, slurring her words.
He settled into silence, staying close enough to offer her stability without prying. As they waited, Lisa drank more, sinking deeper into the haze.
