Chapter 32 - Accident

Theo's thoughts swirl as he lies in the hospital bed, his body connected to an array of machines that monitor his every breath. The doctor's words about the accident replay in his mind, but they seem distant, like a faint echo from another life. He tries to remember the moment when he was summoned to Astra, the vibrant colors and the feeling of power that had filled him.

He can almost feel the warmth of Lily's embrace, the fiery passion of Arabella's kiss, the gentle touch of Beatrice's hand, and the newfound love of Emily and June. It feels so real, so tangible, that it's hard to accept that it might have all been a dream.

The whispers of fate that had been his constant companion seem to have abandoned him in this cold, unfeeling world. Yet, as he closes his eyes and focuses on the love of his harem, a faint echo reaches him. It's as if they're calling to him, whispering that this isn't the end.

The doctor and nurses speak to him, their voices muffled by the ventilation tube that invades his throat, telling him he's been in an accident and that he's lost his memory. But he knows deep down that their words are just a cover for the truth.

Theo's resolve hardens. He will find a way back, for his wives, for Astra, for the prophecy that has shaped his life. He will not let the whispers of fate fade away without a fight.

The nurse's concern is evident as she speaks to the doctor. "Doctor, his vitals are spiking again," she says, her eyes darting to the monitors. "I've never seen anything like it. It's as if he's fighting something only he can see."

The doctor nods thoughtfully, her gaze on Theo's unconscious form. "It's possible," she replies, her voice measured. "The human mind is capable of great feats. Perhaps he's trying to hold onto something from his past, something he feels is slipping away."

The whispers of fate seem to respond to their conversation, growing stronger in his mind. The nurse looks over at the doctor, a question in her eyes. "What do you mean?"

The doctor sighs, her expression one of contemplation. "I've seen cases like this before," she says. "Patients with traumatic experiences or deep, unresolved emotions often cling to them in their comas. It's as if they're stuck in a world of their own making."

The nurse nods slowly, her gaze returning to Theo. "Could it be the accident?" she asks.

The doctor pauses before responding. "Or perhaps," she murmurs, "it's a world far more complex and significant than any of us can imagine."

The whispers of fate swell in his mind, urging him to hold on, to not give up. Theo feels a surge of energy, his body reacting to the power of their love. He knows that he cannot leave them, that his destiny lies in Astra.

He clenches his fist, willing himself to break free from this prison of unconsciousness. The room seems to shiver around him, the whispers growing louder, more insistent.

The doctor and nurse exchange a look, noticing the change in his vitals. "Keep an eye on him," the doctor instructs. "His body is fighting something."

The whispers of fate resonate through the room, their message clear. Theo's journey is far from over. His destiny awaits him in Astra, and he will not be kept from it.

That night, Theo's body began to feel cold, as if the very essence of his being was slipping away. The whispers of fate that had once been a comforting presence grew distant, their voices fading into the void.

Suddenly, the room was flooded with the sound of alarms. "Beep beep beep!" The monitors blared loudly, and the nurses rushed in, their footsteps urgent against the cold floor.

"He's in shock!" one of them shouted, her voice cutting through the din.

The doctor's footsteps echoed as she sprinted to Theo's side, her eyes wide with concern. "Stop CPR, administer epinephrine," she ordered, her voice firm.

The nurse paused, her hands hovering over Theo's chest. "But doctor," she protested.

"Do it now!" the doctor insisted.

The nurse nodded, quickly following orders. The room grew tense as they waited for the medication to take effect. The doctor's eyes never left Theo, her expression a mix of fear and hope.

The whispers of fate grew louder, as if rallying around him, urging him to hold on. His chest convulsed once, twice, before finally stilling. The room went eerily silent, the only sound the steady rhythm of the machines keeping him alive.

The doctor took a deep breath, her hand trembling as she reached for the AED. The nurse held his unresponsive body still as the doctor delivered the electric shock.

The world around Theo went white, the whispers of fate swirling into a crescendo of power. He felt himself being pulled back from the brink, their love and determination a beacon guiding him through the darkness.

As the doctor administered the shock, a sudden warmth flooded through Theo's veins, and the whispers grew clearer. "You are our hope," they said. "Do not abandon us."

Theo's eyes snapped open, his chest heaving with the effort of breathing. The doctor and nurses gasped in surprise, their eyes wide with shock.

Theo's eyes dart around the room, searching for any hint of Astra, but all he finds is the cold, sterile environment of the hospital. Despite the pain and confusion, he can't help the tears that spill down his cheeks.

"Give him some painkiller," the doctor orders, her voice filled with a newfound urgency. "And keep a close eye on him."

The nurse nods, quickly preparing the medication. "He's likely experiencing severe emotional distress," she says, her voice soft. "It's not uncommon with cases like his."

Theo's body relaxes as the painkiller enters his system, but his mind remains a tumult of emotions. The whispers of fate seem to have abandoned him, leaving him adrift in a world he no longer understands.

The doctor watches him, her expression one of concern and curiosity. "You must have had a hard time," she says gently. "But for now, you need to focus on healing."

The whispers of fate seem to agree with her, their presence a faint echo in the background. Theo nods weakly, his thoughts racing.

The nurse administers the painkiller, and the doctor's voice fills his ears. "We're going to take good care of you," she says soothingly. "But I think you have a long road ahead of you."

The whispers of fate seem to respond, hinting that his journey is far from over. Theo's eyes drift shut, and he allows the darkness to envelop him once more, the whispers of fate a distant lullaby promising a future filled with love, power, and destiny.
