Astaltes was having them march for the monolith since it was the goal to take it to begin with. Securing the Monolith meant that he could summon whoever he wanted to summon.
Someone was watching from the shadows but their presence wasn't really noticed by anyone in the room.
"Without any further delays! Let us take the monolith for the sake of humanity!" King Astaltes shouts.
Every single one of them raises their hands with courage. "For humanity!" They all shout back in unison.
It didn't take very long for them to all leave the room since they didn't want to make the king wait too long. They'd take this Monolith no matter what, as this was the way to secure everything they needed.
No one realized that the king himself is just a puppet being controlled by someone with a better plan than his.
