The two of them traveled one more day before finally reaching the gates of Shadow Moore. Guards were staring at them for a few seconds with a strange look in their eyes.
"Something wrong with us?" Mai asks while looking at the guard.
He took a second before crossing his arms again. "Nothing wrong with you two but something is going on right now." The Guard responds with a serious tone in his voice.
"What happened?" Haru speaks up wjile trying to act concerned.
I don't need them suspecting me of anything but I do need to know what's going on.
"The King is missing. No one has seen him since yesterday." The Guard answers.
A rather grim situation to be in, but there's not a whole lot that can be done right now. Finding him would be ideal but I'm sure this is part of his plan.
Making it seem like he's missing while he's secretly conducting his next course of action against the demon lord.
