Shock gripped my body from the inside, freezing me in place, unable to get my brain to function again at this moment.
My legs shook, almost turning into useless jelly that can not support my body weight, betraying me as a wave of nausea twisted through my stomach, sending a disgusting taste to the back of my throat.
I stood there in the secret basement which was hidden behind a locked door, staring at the horrific scene in front of my eyes, and I could not even begin to comprehend it.
A head.
A human head, was hanging from the ceiling like some fancy grotesque chandelier, blood dripping from the neck, eyes white as a ghost.
Terror, that's what I could see in those dead eyes.
The head swayed slightly, casting shadows across the dimly lit room.
The headless body that once belonged to the chandelier's head lay discarded on the floor, twisted in unnatural positions as though carelessly tossed aside.
