Ling Wei arrived at Jiang Enterprises, prompted by Ah Zhong's urgent text. As she followed Ah Zhong to Jiang Jian's office, whispers reached her ears:
"CEO Jiang brought a girl to the office."
"Looks like our CEO has been stolen from us."
The women pouted, exchanging envious glances.
Ah Zhong's stern gaze silenced them. "You know the consequences of gossiping in the office."
The women's faces fell, their expressions aggrieved.
Inside Jiang Jian's office, Ling Wei found him seated behind his desk, his expression serious.
"Sit down, Ling Wei," Jiang Jian said, extending his arm.
He glanced at Ah Zhong. "You may excuse yourself."
Ah Zhong nodded and departed, closing the door.
Ling Wei's curiosity peaked. "What's the emergency?"
Jiang Jian leaned back, a hint of amusement on his face. "False alarm. I just needed an excuse to see you."
Ling Wei's cheeks flushed. "You could've just called me."
Jiang Jian chuckled. "I wanted to see your lovely face."
Ling Wei's heart skipped a beat.
"Dinner at Heavenly Pavilion, 7 pm?" Jiang Jian asked, his eyes sparkling.
Ling Wei nodded, smiling. "I'd love to."
As she left Jiang Jian's office, Ah Zhong watched her depart, muttering to himself:
"Since when did Young Master start relating with women?"
Ah Zhong's thoughts drifted to Jiang Jian's troubled past. Could Ling Wei be the one to bring light into his life?
