The chattering echoed through the guild walls as everyone started gathering around Zarek. Phones flashed in every direction as people began recording him like he was some kind of celebrity.
Zarek's mind raced. "Damn it, I didn't think this through. I check my rank all the time when I'm at the guild—I didn't expect anything like this to happen!"
The crowd around him grew larger, voices overlapping in excitement and curiosity. People began pushing closer, eager for a better look.
"Please, everyone, calm down!" the lady from the counter pleaded, her voice drowned out by the commotion.
Zarek glanced at the growing crowd, his nerves tightening. I need to get out of here. Without a moment's hesitation, he bent his knees and leaped into the air. A trail of crackling lightning mana marked his path as he darted away with inhuman speed, disappearing like a flash.
The crowd erupted into confusion.
