I took a deep breath, trying to remain calm under his scrutinizing gaze. "I just want some closure," I explained, even though I knew how crazy it must sound to him. "I need to see her one last time, to put this one-sided friendship to rest for good."
Ethan wasn't having it. "Closure?" he repeated, his voice dripping with sarcasm and anger. "After everything she did to you? After she set you up to get hurt multiple times? Did you forget it was because of her you got bullied, stabbed and almost sold? How can you even think about seeing that bitch? You like her or something?"
