(Y/n)'s POV
It was already November, my birthday coming every day faster and faster. I wanted to invite everyone, but I knew we had more pressing matters at hand, the scenery was changing to a more snowy one, which I liked. I loved the way the snow gathers around everywhere, I never got to experience it first hand, so it was nice.
By Harry's own words, Wood was training him to the bones, and with good reason, as Quidditch season had started, it still looked really dangerous, but if he enjoyed it, it was okay I guess, Wood wanted it to be a secret, but somehow it got leaked.
"D-don't worry Harry, you'll do great mate!" I said, trying to get him to have more confidence.
He looked... defeated, and with a little "Thanks (Y/n)" he always left it at that.
Me and Hermione now helped Harry and Ron with their homework, Hermione was always more tough with them, and me, well, I'm not very good at saying no, so every time they asked Hermione to let them copy their homework and she said no, they would ask me immediately after.
Hermione lent Harry a book about Quidditch, which honestly didn't caught my attention, so I just forgot the name, but thanks to our newfound friendship, Hermione got a bit more relaxed with studying and rules, don't get me wrong, she still studied a bloody lot, but it was... at a lower pace?
"Um, do you really want to read all of those books, Hermione?" I asked, as I saw her take out a dozen books from the Hogwarts Library.
"Yeah! They're interesting, besides, knowledge is always a good thing" She said.
"But aren't some of these books years ahead of us? Are you sure you won't oversaturate yourself?" I was concerned, so I asked
"What? You don't think I'm capable?" She asked, in a somewhat angry tone, as she usually did when she felt her intellect was being questioned.
"N-no, of course I think you're more than capable! It's just... I'm worried about my best friend, you know? Besides, I like how you talk about books while you're reading them, it's just... mom said too much of something is sometimes bad" I said, laughing nervously, because I didn't want her to get angry.
She... blushed a bit? I couldn't see that very well, and as of late, my sight was getting a bit worse, it helped that I always sat next to Hermione, in front of the class.
"Oh, well, thanks (Y/n), I'll try, you can read the books with me, if you'd like" She said, and that's how we spent our days mostly, I knew she wouldn't really try, because she was really stubborn, and we still had Herbology sessions which were the dead of me, but because it was Hermione, at least it wasn't as dull.
Anyways, back to the present, as I said, she lent a Quidditch book to Harry, and we were in the courtyard, freezing a bit, Hermione, as always, thought fast, and conjured a small blue fire to put in a jam jar, while that did make the three of them warmer, I was already warm enough, because Blaze was getting better at controlling her flames, and made my hand made pocket, and by consequence, my uniform, warmer to the touch, while we sat on the courtyard.
"You have to teach me that!" I said, laughing a bit, but quickly noticing her hands were trembling, I said "You're still trembling, do you want to share Blaze's warmth with me?"
She looked taken aback, and after hesitating for a bit, sat closer to me.
"Ah... that feels better, Blaze is controlling her flames better, as I can see, but it was obvious, fire dwelling salamanders have a really easy time controlling their flames with the right owner" Said Hermione, apparently she read about them too, I was happy about that, it meant she liked Blaze, but I mean, who wouldn't?
Harry told us that Snape was crossing the yard, and also noticed he was limping, which caught all of our attention, and the three of them got even closer to me, to hide the jar with the blue fire, I don't know why.
Snape smelt something was off and approached us, and said, with that disappointed tone he has.
"What's that you've got there, Potter?" I didn't know what to say to help Harry, so he just said.
"It's Quidditch through the Ages, sir." Said Harry
"You're not supposed to take books from the library outside of school, give me that, and five points will be deducted from Gryffindor."
As Snape limped away, Harry said.
"He just made that rule up"
"Probably, but I wonder why's he limping?" I asked
"Dunno, but I hope it hurts him" Said Ron, in his usual temperamental self.
It was the evening now, and for some reason, the common room was really noisy, which made me a bit uncomfortable, the four of us sat next to a window, with Harry and Ron on one side, and me and Hermione on other, and as usual, they were trying to get Hermione let them copy her Charms homework, and as it didn't work with her, they tried with me, knowing I was weaker than Hermione.
"U-um, I can, but I'll also tell you guys how to do it" I said, in a weak tone.
"Oh, come on (Y/n)! You can't do their homework for them. How will they learn? I know you, and you'll just hand them the answers, I forbid you from helping them in that way!" Said Hermione in her usual bossy tone, and I just... agreed with her, it made sense, I just didn't want to leave them behind, and I knew she would try and teach them anyways, so I went along with it.
"Sorry guys, sometimes I'm more scared of her than the troll" I said, and they all laughed, I tilted my head to the side, and me and Hermione dedicated ourselves to help them do their homework.
Suddenly, Harry said. "I'm going to ask Snape if I can have the book back" In response, Hermione and Ron said, at the same time.
"Better you than me"
And I said "Um, I don't think that will work, Harry, you know how Snape is, especially with Gryffindor students..."
"I know, but I want to try, that book keeps me calm" And with that, he left.
"Who wants to bet that he doesn't get the book back?" Said Ron.
"I don't think it's needed, it's obvious he's not going to get it back." Said Hermione.
"Well, you know what they say, hope is the last thing one loses, besides, I think you should focus on the homework, Ron, this part is wrong" I said.
"Yeah, the pronunciation is wrong." Said Hermione.
After a while of going back and forth with Ron and his homework, Harry returned, looking a bit shaken up.
"Are you alright Harry?" I asked, with concern in my voice "Did he call you names again?"
"Yeah mate, did you get it? Or did that greasy git said something to you?" Asked Ron.
He explained what he saw, how Snape had a wound in his leg, and he said.
"You know what this means? Snape tried to get through the three headed dog in Hallowe'en! He's after whatever he's guarding! And I'd bet my broomstick that he let the troll in to create a diversion!" Said Harry, running without breath at the end of the whole sentence.
Hermione opened her eyes wide, and I knew why, she's always respected teachers and Professors, it must've been hard to believe one could betray it's own school.
"No, he wouldn't, I know he's not very nice, but he wouldn't steal something Dumbledore was keeping safe" Said Hermoine.
"Honestly, Hermione, you think all teachers are saints or something. I'm with Harry. I wouldn't put anything past Snape. But what's he after? What's that dog guarding?" Snapped Ron..
"I don't know guys, I mean, Dumbledore is the strongest wizard of this age, no? He wouldn't have hired Snape if he knew he was bad, but at the same time... Snape gives me the icks" I said, even though Snape was bad, both sides made some sense, why would he do that to Dumbledore?

The next morning, I was in my usual mood in the mornings, and Harry didn't want to eat, so that made it more annoying than usual.
"Harry, for the hundredth time, you have to eat, if Quidditch is dangerous enough by itself, it's even more dangerous without anything on the stomach." I said, a bit annoyed but mostly concerned.
"I don't want anything." Said Harry.
"Just a bit of toast." Said Hermoine, also concerned about her friend.
"I'm just not hungry." Answered Harry.
Even Seamus chimed in and said his bit, just to get Harry to eat something, to fill his stomach with even an Apple.
After insisting a lot, he ate a bit of toast, and an apple, which wasn't a lot, but it was enough I guess, Harry left first, and we started to walk where the Quidditch match would take place, the Quidditch pitch.
"Um, is this a bad moment to remind you two that I hate heights?" I said, a bit scared, as I looked at where the stands were, four giant and really tall buildings surrounded the pitch, each with it's own color.
"Don't worry (Y/n), it's safe, I don't think they would've done this without any safety measurements." Said Hermione, again, believing in the school staff.
"Yeah mate, can't believe you're scared of heights and not of fighting a bloody troll" Said Ron.
"I was scared of the troll, but it's not like we had a choice with it, right?" I said, fast.
"Oh for godness' sake!" Said Hermoine, as she grabbed my arm, and made me follow her, with Ron following behind us. "Come on, Harry will appreciate our support."
We sat in some stands, Ron on my left and Hermione on my right. Thanks to Hermione still grabbing my arm, I felt somewhat grounded and felt like I couldn't be pushed out of the stand and fall to my death.
We saw as... Madam Hooch? I really need to get my eyes check, but we watched as she said something to the players, and suddenly they all took off, with my eyes, and I guess Ron and Hermione's eyes, fixed on Harry, and a voice reverberated on the whole pitch, as I realized this game had commentators.
"And the Quaffle is taken immediately by Angelina Johnson of Gryffindor, what an excellent Chaser that girl is, and rather attractive, too" Said Lee Jordan
"JORDAN!" Said the voice of Professor McGonagall.
"Sorry, Professor"
He started to talk about a lot of the things of the game, in his description of events, I got lost, and just saw the match, until I heard him scream
"GRYFFINDOR SCORE!"
Everyone cheered, and I had to put my hands on my ears, until Hermoine urged me to move closer to Ron, and we squeezed as I watched Hagrid come to watch, how he climbed the whole stairs? I don't know, magic I guess.
"Bin watchin' from me hut," said Hagrid, patting a large pair of binoculars round his neck, 'But it isn't the same as bein' in the crowd. No sign of the Snitch yet, eh?"
"I really don't get why you guys like this game, it seems so... dangerous" I said
"I don't really understand it either, but this whole pitch makes me feel ecstatic." Said Hermione.
"You don' get it (Y/n), when the seeker gets the Snitch, even more if it's a friend, you have to see it to understand it" Said Hagrid.
"Yeah, besides, Harry hasn't had much to do yet" Said Ron.
"Eh, I don't know guys.. it all seem- HE FOUND IT!" Suddenly I screamed, even I didn't know where that came from, but excitement filled me as Harry dived downwards, and again, as I screamed, the whole Gryffindor stand screamed too, as Marcus Flint almost made Harry fall off his broom.
"Foul!" Everyone said, and Madam Hooch saw it too, and said some things to Marcus.
"They should expel that guy" I said, and Dean chimed in and said.
"Right?! They should give him the red card"
"They can't expel people in Quidditch, besides, what's a red card?"
We watched as Harry's broom apparently wasn't working as intended, he grabbed onto it with his hands and knees, it was as if he lost control of the broom.
"Uh, guys? Should Harry's broom be like that? Or is he just not controlling it well enough?" I asked Hermione and Ron.
"Did something happen when Flint blocked him?" Asked Seamus
"Can't have, can't nothing interfere with a broomstick except powerful Dark Magic, no kid could do that to a Nimbus Two Thousand" Said Hagrid, and as if that gave her an idea, she snatched Hagrid's binoculars and started to search through the crowd.
"What are you doing?" Said Ron, and I finally got it, and answered for her.
"She's looking to see if anyone's doing a jinx to the broom! Great quick thinking Hermione!" I said.
"I knew it, look at Snape" She said, and me and Ron each took one eye of the binoculars, and watched at how Snape had his eyes glued to Harry, and was muttering something.
"H-He's jinxing the broom!" I said
"What do we do?" Asked Ron, Hermione and me locked eyes.
"L-Leave it to me" I said, mustering all the courage I could, which honestly, wasn't much given we were really high up in the air, but when you see a Professor trying to kill one of your closest friends, you don't have much time to think, and I sped through the stands, Hermione following me close behind, and when we were behind the rows Snape was, I thought Now what?
I pulled my wand, and tried to imitate the blue fire spell Hermione did in the jam jar, only now I focused on Snape's robes, the spell went not in the most optimal way, but it still worked to make him focus on something else and stumble a bit, and I said.
"You really oughta teach me how to do that spell better"
"Later, (Y/n)! Let's go" She said, grabbed my arm, and we left to go where Ron was, we got just in time as Harry dove downward to grab the golden snitch again, and we started to scream. I don't know why, but as Hermione said, it was exciting.
He was toe to toe with the Slytherin seeker, but before they hit the ground, the enemy seeker chickened out, and Harry did a sharp upturn, and did something I still can't believe he had the guts to do.
"H-he's standing on his broom?!?" I exclaimed.
And just as I said that, he jumped from his broom, whether on accident or not, and the crowd went quiet, he sat up, and we saw him spit out the golden snitch right onto his hands, and Madam Hooch whistled her whistle, and screamed
"Gryffindor Wins!"
And the crowd, including me, all cheered and screamed, I even hugged Hermione.
After the game was over, we were in Hagrid's hut, I've known hagrid for less time than Harry or Ron, but I could tell he was a gentle giant, after all, he also knew my parents, and had told me some stories about them, but anyways, we were in Hagrid's hut, because he made some tea for Harry.
As we told him what we just saw, Hagrid denied it all. "Rubbish" He said "Why would Professor Snape do something like that?" I used to think that, but after what I saw in the Quidditch game, my feelings changed.
We looked at each other, hesitating on what to say, until Harry spoke up and said.
"He tried to get past the three headed dog at Hallowe'en, but it bit him, we think he was trying to steal whatever it's guarding"
"How do you know about Fluffy?" Said Hagrid.
"Fluffy?" I said, and apparently, Hermione thought the same as I did.
"That thing has a name?" She said,
"Of course it has a name, he's mine, I bought him off a Greek chappie I met in the pub las' year, I lent him to Dumbledore to guard the-" Hagrid abruptly stopped talking, as if he realized what he was saying.
"Yes?" Said Harry, eager to hear it.
"I shouldn't have said that, now, don't ask me anymore, top secret that is" Hagrid huffed.
"B-but Hagrid, S- Professor Snape did try to steal it, now we're sure of it!" I said
"Oh, codswallop, Professor Snape is a teacher at Hogwarts, he'd do nothing of the sort." Still in denial, but, could we blame him? We were first years telling him one of his colleagues was a traitor, even if we had good arguments.
"So why did he try to kill Harry?" Said Hermione, with her thoughts about Snape also changed.
"I know a jinx when I see one, Hagrid, I've read all about them! and so has (Y/n), you've got to keep eye contact, and Snape wasn't blinking at all, I saw him!" She said, as if she commanded with the absolute truth, which to be honest, she was.
"Now you listen to me, all four of yeh, yeh're meddling in things that are not to be meddled in, it's dangerous, what that dog is guarding is strictly between Dumbledore and Nicholas Flamel ''.
"Nicholas Flamel? That name sounds awfully familiar..." I said.
"I shouldn't have said that, I should not have said that!" Said Hagrid, as he looked mad at himself.
—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
19th of December, 1991
I woke up, and usually, I would feel annoyed at that, but today was different, it was December 19th, my birthday, and the first one I spent without my parents, I decided to stay in Hogwarts, because ever since the talk with Hagrid, we were researching like crazy any information we could about Nicholas Flamel, well, me and Hermione were, Harry and Ron were doing their own thing.
Anyways, coming back to the date, I expected no one to say happy birthday to me, mainly because I didn't tell anyone, except Hermione, but I assumed that because of all the Nicholas Flamel stuff, she had forgotten, and I wasn't mad about it, we did have more pressing matters than a simple birthday, although, even if I wasn't mad, it was sad to not spend my birthday with my parents, as I was used to it.
I went down to the common room early in the morning, well, not that early but there was no one around, mainly because we didn't have any classes in the morning that day, thankfully, it felt weird to be 12 now, I thought growing up would feel any different, but it was most of the same, I reached the common room, and there was a parcel directed at me, I approached it and it read.
To: (Y/n) (L/n)
From: Your parents.
I opened it, and in it there was a gift and a letter
Dearest son of ours,
We hope you're behaving and not causing any problems at school, maybe we aren't the best example on how to behave at it, but you shouldn't make any problem for your Professors and peers, make sure to write down every detail, and not only pay attention to the classes you like, we know how your attention span is.
We miss you a lot, you should write some more, we're always eager to hear news of you and your friends, and we want you to know that we love you so much.
Here's a little present, I hope you enjoy it have a happy birthday, my sweet boy
With love, your loving parents
P.S: Don't forget to feed Blaze everyday, she grows faster than you.
Oh, the usual I thought, asking how I was, how was Blaze, and that I should write more letters, even though they send me letters everyday and I answer the same day...
They also wished me a Happy Birthday from them and from my Grandma. It wasn't as if I was trying to ignore them, but I kept the letters short, because I missed them a lot, actually, I guess that's what happen when you see them everyday and suddenly stop seeing them from months, there were moments where I was lost, but I had my friends with me, which made my days amazing enough to not think about it.
The gift was something I didn't know. Usually, I would tell my parents what I wanted for my birthday, and they would simply comply. This was, however, something I didn't know, and it filled me with expectation.
I opened the gift, and it was a pair of gloves, which had the symbols of Gryffindor. In the gift, there was another message, this time, letters appeared on the air, and it said.
Your hands tend to get cold when it's this time of the year, so you have to put on a lot of clothes, don't want you to get sick, also, check the full gift, you throw the paper we put the gifts in and usually don't check there's more than one thing. I searched the gift wrap, and found another pair of gloves, this one with a letter H on it, and before I could even ask myself why they sent two pairs, letters appeared on the air again.
The other pair is for Hermione, a gift from us, as you said in your letters that she's still your friend, we thought it was a nice gesture to send her a gift I was so into the letter and the gift, that I didn't even notice someone going down the stairs, and standing close to me, until I heard them talk.
"Aw, your parents are real-" And before Hermione could finish the sentence, I screamed
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA- Oh, Hermione, it's just you... bloody hell, you scared the heck out of me..." She looked scared at my screaming and made a weird noise, like 'eep', but thankfully and surprisingly, no one woke up.
"As I was saying, before you interrupted me" She said, with an annoyed look "Your parents, they're really nice for buying that for me."
"Oh, yeah, I guess they are, I hope you like them, they even have an H in it" I said.
"Thanks, now it's my turn, Happy birthday (Y/n)!" She said, as she pulled me in a hug, it was the first time a friend said happy birthday to me, so... I'm not ashamed to admit I cried a little.
"T-thanks, Hermione, thank you for remembering it, I really thought..." I said, wiping the tears off my eyes.
"You thought I would forget? You didn't forget my birthday, how could I forget yours? Anyways, here's your gift, it's nothing much, but I hope you like it" She said, as she handed me a case, I opened it, and there was a new quill, this one had my initials engraved to it, it looked like it was hard to do, so I just said.
"Thank you so much Hermione, you're the first one to ever give me a gift, outside of my family, I'll hold onto it with my life, I won't ever use any other quill, I swear!" I said, as I was practically jumping from happiness, and I hugged her again, the day was quiet after that, we didn't do much.
Harry and Ron wished me a happy birthday too (Apparently Hermione told them) and they gave me sweets and candies, which I happily took, and just like that the days passed, with the researching of Nicholas Flamel, the sessions of Herbology Hemione gave me, and me using my free time to practice some spells in secret, because Professors told us we couldn't do spells on the corridors, time flew.
—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was almost time for the Hogwarts students who were going to their houses for Christmas to leave, and as usual, Draco being the idiot he is, started to taunt the ones who were going to stay, including Ron, Harry, and me.
"I do feel sorry for all of the people who have to stay in Hogwarts because they're not wanted at their homes"
Draco was always annoying, but as of late, he was being more and more, maybe it was because Gryffindor won in the match against Slytherin, but it was annoying nonetheless.
I was with Harry, Hermione, and Ron, and after an altercation with Malfoy being Malfoy, we went to the Great Hall with Hagrid.
"How many days you got left until yer holidays?"
"Just one, and that reminds me, we've got half an hour before lunch, we should be in the library, only (Y/n) and I have been actively searching for it" Said Hermione
"Well, I'm sure they help, in their own way..." I say, trying to not make the other two feel bad.
"Yeah, yeah, you're right" Said Ron
"The library?" Asked Hagrid, impressed "Just before the holidays? Bit keen, aren't yeh?"
"Oh, we're not working," Harry said. I looked at him as if to say, " Are you really going to tell him? but he paid no mind to me, and continued "Ever since you mentioned Nicholas Flamel, we've been trying to figure out who he is"
Hagrid looked bewildered, and could just say.
"You what?! Listen here, I've told yeh to drop it, It's nothin' to you what that dog's guarding"
"We just want to know who Nicholas Flamel is, that's all" Said Hermione, once again lying for the sake of us.
"Unless you'd like to tell us and save us the trouble?" Said Harry, and I chimed in
"Y-yeah, we've been looking everywhere for info about him and it's like the guy's a ghost, it'd be really helpful"
"I'm sayin' nothin'" Said Hagrid.
"Just have to find out for ourselves, then" Said Ron.
We left for the library, and as usual, couldn't find any info of him, which we got used to, he wasn't in any book we searched, Harry went to the restricted area to see if he could find anything, but was quickly scared off by Madam Pince, after a while, we went to have lunch, and Hermione said.
"You will keep looking while I'm away, won't you? And send me an Owl if you find anything."
"Don't worry Hermione, I promise I'll keep looking for info about him, I swear he sounds familiar to me... It's so infuriating" I said
"Thanks (Y/n), at least I know you will." She said,
"You should ask your parents to see if they know Flamel, it'd be safe to ask them" Said Ron
Honestly, Ron wasn't the brightest of the bunch, but I just looked at him, as if he just said the most absurd thing in the world, which, to be honest, he had, he just looked at me, and said.
"What?" Hermione obviously understood why I looked at him like that, and said
"Well, it's very safe to say they don't know about him, as they're both dentists."
Before the night fell, I talked and played a bit with Blaze, who obviously couldn't answer me, or if she did I couldn't understand it, for obvious reasons, the game was simple, she heard me talk, sometimes nodded or did some weird bodily gesture, and I gave her fire to eat, it helped me practice that blue spell Hermione used, which she had shown me a bit on how to do it in our Herbology lessons.
"So? How is it, girl?" I asked Blaze, after giving her a bit of the blue fire, she just looked... dissatisfied? It was a weird feeling, but something told me she meant to say that I was going somewhere.
"Hey, it's something, I still don't understand how Hermione came up with it though, but it beats having to light a match every night" I said, laughing, Blaze just looked at me, and made some weird sound, as if she wanted to talk, I got the gist of it though, Just give me the match's fire, At least that's what I think she meant, so I did.
Feeling full, she lay with her back on the bed, and I started to play with her, which meant, putting my finger on her belly and tickling her, kinda like how cats are, and she reacted similar to them, trying to bite my finger or trying to reach it with her front paws, but because she's so small she couldn't really do much, she felt tired afterwards, so I just left her on her little hand made nest/house, and I fell asleep.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Harry and Ron were having the time of their life, because the school seemed so empty, especially the common room, as almost every student has left for the holidays, both of them were playing wizards chess, a game where the pieces moved by itself, and Ron was having too much fun, winning again for the 10th time or something, I lost count.
After the hundredth time, I asked Ron to teach me how to play, and so we did, I didn't really understand the rules of the game, and instead of him explaining everything we just played it to learn them that way, we played for a few rounds, in which Ron won all of them, with me understanding the game little by little, Harry was somewhat commenting on the game, as if it was a Quidditch match.
"And.... that's checkmate" Said Ron, with a grin on his face.
"Ah bloody hell, Ron, you're really good!" I said, frustrated for not winning any game, but it was fun, the playing with my friends part, not the losing every time bit, "But I think I'm getting the hang of it, want to play a bit more?" I asked, excited.
"Uh, better not, mate, don't want to keep winning you like that" Said Ron, it sounded as an excuse, but I let it pass, we spent the day mainly talking, until I had to go again to the library for the daily search for Flamel.
On Christmas I woke up early, because of them, they were really excited for the day, and they couldn't find anything better to do than scream, or more specifically Ron screamed, to wake me up, which if I'm usually in a bad mood in the morning, this made it worse.
"Honestly, don't you know how to keep quiet in the morning?" I said, clearly annoyed, and they were shocked I guess at seeing my change of character.
"H-Happy Christmas mate!" Said Ron, trying to brush off my answer, he's been acting a bit weird ever since the troll incident, I mumbled a Happy Christmas to both of them, and got out of bed, as they were eager to open the gifts, Ron and Harry opened the gifts I bought for them, which honestly weren't that much, just a few sweets and a book on Quidditch to the both of them, as they really enjoyed the game and all it's risks, never understood why, but to each their own I guess, they both seemed really happy with their gifts which in itself made me happy too.
I called Blaze to give her her own gift, which was a charcoal of the best quality in Hagrid's words. I pulled out the match and lit the charcoal with it, letting Blaze stay on it for a while and eat to her heart's content.
I also got two gifts for Hermione, as I forgot to get her one for her birthday, a book of fantastic creatures and a quill with her initials carved into it, as a thank you, Harry and Ron went the safe route and gave me sweets and candies again, which I didn't mind, I was just happy I got more gifts from friends, mom and dad got me a book about dragons, and there was another present, which was in a wrap I didn't recognize, Ron saw me and Harry were looking at them, and said.
"I think those are from mum, told her about you guys, and how Harry expected no presents- Oh no" He groaned "She's made you a Weasley jumper" I looked at Harry, and as we exchange looks, we went and opened the presents immediately, Ron was right, it was two hand knitted sweaters, Harry's one in an emerald green, with an H embed on the chest, and mine on a red color, with the initial of my name also on the chest.
"Your mom's so cool for this" I said to Ron, he looked at me as I said some kind of joke, and said.
"She makes us a jumper every year, mines always maroon"
"That's really nice of her" Said Harry, and I agreed with an enthusiastic nod, I put the sweater on and said.
"This is the first time I get this many presents from people who arent my parents or my grandma, thank you guys"
"This is the first time I get presents at all" Said Harry, I just looked at him and felt horrible for saying that. I could only mumble a "sorry" and Harry said "Don't worry about it" looking really happy, which made me forget about it, feeling another vibe from him.
Harry went on to open his last package, as me and Ron ate chocolate frogs, a gift from Hermione to us. We saw something fall into the floor. I didn't know what it was at first, but Ron had something to say about it, as he gasped.
"I've heard of those, if that's what I think it is, they're really rare and valuable" Ron said, remarking on the last part, as Harry picked it up, Ron said " It's an invisibility cloak!"
I was bewildered by that, and simply could form a few words "P-Put it on, Harry!" He did so, and only his head was left, it looked as if his head was floating in the air, Ron and I could only look in awe.
"There's a note!" Said Ron, and Harry grabbed it and read it out loud.
"Your father left this in my possession before he died. It is time it was returned to you. Use it well. A Very Merry Christmas to you."
"We could use it to go search in the restricted section of the library, no?" I asked, Ron looked at me again, as if I just told a joke.
"Are you joking? We're in Christmas and you're thinking of searching for Nicholas Flamel?"
"W-well... we did promise Hermione..." I said, with my voice going quieter with each word, Harry looked deep in thought, and before he could say anything, Ron's brothers came out, Fred and George, each with a Weasley sweater.
"Merry Christmas!" They said "Hey look, (Y/n) and Harry got them too! Yours are better though, she obviously makes an effort if you're not of the family" I have a hard time talking to them, because I haven't got to talk to them a lot, and because they are a bit unpredictable, with their jokes and all, so I just went ahead and nodded at what they said.
They berated Ron for not using his, and he said something about not liking maroon, Percy also said something but I can't remember as I started to see and play with Blaze.
We had a special Christmas dinner, and I think Harry and I thought the same, it looked awesome, and it was even better for me because there were less people, which made it feel all the more private.
At night, I just did the usual, gave more pats to Blaze than usual, as it was Christmas for her too, and fed her a little bit more, again, with a match, as I did not trust my usage of the blue flame spell, and fell asleep.
