Chapter 41 - Marvel 41

Bucky and Yulia stood in stunned silence, their amazement growing with each new display. "He's... something else," Bucky muttered, shaking his head in disbelief.

Yulia, equally impressed, chuckled and muttered, "This group is full of surprises."

"I now fully believe you," Bucky suddenly said.

"Hm?" Max looked at him, wondering what he meant.

"If you have people like this, why do you even need us? We're just a hindrance, dead weight compared to them," Bucky said, looking at Max.

"Hm, you could say that," Max nodded, adding, "But I can give you powers too, if you want."

Bucky and Yulia both turned their attention to Max. "How?" Yulia asked, her voice filled with intensity.

Max listened closely as Bucky and Yulia spoke, both of them revealing their desires for power. Bucky, feeling outclassed, believed he and Yulia were just a hindrance compared to the others. Yulia, with a fierce determination, added her plea.

"I need power to avenge my husband," Yulia said, her voice cold but steady. "After being captured by HYDRA, I found out the real culprit behind his death wasn't that cop—it was HYDRA all along. Give me power, and you can use me however you want." Her eyes locked onto Max's, filled with purpose.

Max nodded slowly, understanding their desperation. "I see. You're both looking for revenge, and you want the strength to make it happen."

Bucky clenched his fists, still processing everything. "HYDRA's haunted me for years. If you have a way to give us more strength, I won't turn it down. But why? You could've easily gotten rid of us or left us frozen."

"You two are perfectly trained soldiers that's why" Max shrugged and said and both Yuli and Bucky nodded, thinking he is right.

"Anyway, we will be going to a place where you two can gain powers and all of you can train" Max said as he looked at everyone.

he now already plan to use the World Traveling ticket he got from having the Ultimate Spidey Squad Achievement.

Max's announcement left everyone buzzing with excitement and confusion. As he clapped his hands and called everyone to gather around, the group assembled, waiting for him to explain further.

"We're going to a different world," Max said, and everyone's attention sharpened.

Gwen looked puzzled. "What do you mean by 'different world'?"

"Are we going into space?" Flash asked, his curiosity piqued.

"Or to a different planet?" Harry added, trying to figure out what Max was getting at.

Max smirked. "You can say that. We're going to a different world, so get your backpacks ready. It's going to be a long trip—we might be gone for a year."

The group exchanged uneasy glances, their skepticism growing.

"I can't just disappear for a year," MJ protested, while Gwen and Peter nodded in agreement.

"Don't worry," Max reassured them, waving off their concerns. "For us, it'll be a year, but where we're going, time works differently. It'll only be a second here."

"How is that even possible?" Gwen wondered aloud, trying to wrap her mind around it.

"It's part of my powers," Max said with a mischievous grin. "Now, get moving! Pack your things. Rize, help Yulia find some clothes, and I'll take Bucky shopping. Lumia, you can pack the backpacks for us and assist Rize."

Lumia smiled and gave a firm nod. "On it."

With that, everyone scattered, some still confused but eager for the adventure ahead. They trusted Max, knowing whatever world he had in mind, it was sure to be extraordinary. Meanwhile, Max and Bucky prepared to head out to gear up for whatever lay ahead.

Max and Bucky stepped out into the busy city streets, heading toward a clothing store. As they walked, Bucky couldn't help but feel a mix of confusion and gratitude. Max had freed him from the cryo chamber, offered him a chance to live again, and now, without hesitation, was taking him on a shopping trip like it was no big deal.

Bucky glanced sideways at Max, who was casually walking beside him, hands in his pockets. The question had been gnawing at him since the moment Max first mentioned giving them power. "Why do you trust me so much?" Bucky finally asked, his voice low but sincere.

Max smirked, not breaking his stride. "Why wouldn't I?"

Bucky frowned. "You just met me. I tried to punch your head off when I woke up. I could turn on you at any moment." There was a heavy weight behind his words, stemming from years of being manipulated and controlled.

Max looked at him, eyes gleaming with calm confidence. "You could, sure. But you won't. I can tell when people have been through hell and still manage to keep a sense of who they are." He tapped his temple. "I've been in your mind, remember? Not everything, but enough."

Bucky raised an eyebrow, a little taken aback. "That's not creepy at all."

Max laughed lightly. "Yeah, maybe a bit. But seriously, I don't see a killer in you, Bucky. I see a man who's been used, broken, and wants a second chance. Besides, I have a good sense for people." He paused, glancing at a display in the shop window before continuing. "And I don't need people who just follow orders—I need people who are willing to fight for what they believe in."

Bucky fell silent as they entered the store, mulling over Max's words. The sincerity in Max's voice was undeniable. It was strange, being trusted so freely after all the years of being feared and hunted.

"Pick what you need," Max said, gesturing to the racks of clothes. "You might want to be practical. We're going on quite the adventure."

Bucky nodded absently, picking up a jacket as he continued to think about what Max had said. "What exactly is this world we're going to?"

Max chuckled. "It's a bit of a surprise, but let's just say it's a place where power is everything. You'll fit right in."

Bucky arched an eyebrow. "And you're just going to hand me more power? Just like that?"

Max shrugged as he picked out a few things for himself. "Why not? You want to settle the score with HYDRA, right? Help me, and we'll make sure they never rise again. Besides, I think you're going to like what I have in mind."

As they made their way to the checkout, Bucky couldn't help but feel something unfamiliar—a sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe, this time he'd be fighting on the right side, with people who trusted him. And that was worth sticking around for.
