"Great, now I understand, and you really meant the highest possible reward," Max mumbled, absorbing the information about the Tiers.
[The host shouldn't get too happy; I was only discussing potential after all,] Yue replied calmly.
"I know… wait! You mean I don't start at the Universal level, but I have to train to reach it?" Max asked, stunned.
[Yes, what did you expect? A one-way ticket to heaven?] Yue remarked.
"No, my dream of invincibility only lasted five minutes," Max said, shedding silent tears as he pondered this.
"Well, let's use another random gacha!" Max shrugged and rubbed his hands together like a shady merchant.
Yue rolled her eyes at his antics as she obeyed his request.

Description: Created by Orraek, a dwarven blacksmith master craftsman. He took the sword inspiration when he was on a frost peak on a clear full moon night. ]
The sword looked and felt amazing in Max's hand, with perfect balance and sharp-edged.
The sword blade was made from unknown material that gave a chilling feel and looked like a starry night sky, with the sword handle made out of white marble that felt smooth to the touch but not slippery at all.
The sword's stats and appearance were simple, but giving the blade a final touch was the full white sheath with a carving of the frozen mountain range.
"Although it's cool and beautiful, I really hoped for something better than Tier I," Max mumbled to himself, holding the great sword in his hands. With a sigh, he stored it in the system's inventory and pondered, "Should I use the last one or not?"
"Maybe it's balanced now—one great stroke of luck and one great disappointment. I'll probably get a decent reward next time," he reasoned, spinning the last random gacha.
Max stared at the gacha spinning, his heart racing with anticipation. Eventually, he closed his eyes, waiting for the system to announce the result. Yue's voice echoed in his mind.
[Congratulations, host, on obtaining Rune Magic (Tier III)]
Rune Magic: Tier III (Peak)
A type of magic that involves the utilization of Runes. Tier III series includes over 100 runes such as Runes of Strength, Speed, Intelligence, Teleportation, and more. ]
"Yes, that's a good reward," Max mumbled and immediately inherited the Rune Magic on the spot.
"Alright, let's try it," he said, lifting his hand into the air. But nothing happened. Confused, he paused. "Um, Yue, why don't I feel the magic energy inside me?"
After all Rune Magic involves moving magical or any energy to power up the constructs called Runes.
[Host doesn't have any magic energy, did Host forget?] Yue replied calmly.
"Seriously? I thought it was good, but now this feels even worse than the Tier I reward!" Max groaned, clutching his head in frustration as he realized his blunder.
[Sigh... Host, you have Omni-Energy Ruler. You can absorb any type of energy and use it to power up your constructs,] Yue sighed, clearly trying to keep calm.
"Oh right! You did mention that I can use Runes with any energy. That's great!" Max's mood flipped as he remembered the system's previous explanation. He quickly picked up a book and began to beat himself, absorbing kinetic energy from the strikes, his body rapidly filling with power until he had to stop after half an hour, feeling nearly overloaded.
"Let's use it!" Max muttered as he drew a Rune in the air. A strange symbol began to form, glowing with energy.
"Rune of Flying, activate!" he whispered. Immediately, his body began to rise, hovering above the ground. Max floated around the room, grinning wildly. "Cool! Ahahaha!"
Suddenly, Creak—the door cracked open.
"Max! I've been hearing too much... What the—?" Lumia angrily entered the room, only to stop in her tracks, baffled by the sight of Max floating mid-air.
Thud!
She slammed the door shut and took a moment to compose herself, then reopened it and saw Max sitting at his desk, pretending to study.
"You bastard! Do you think I'm a fool? I was watching you through the keyhole!" she shouted, storming toward him with a furious look in her eyes.
"Wait! Lumi, you shouldn't—" Max shouted, trying to stop his sister from acting on her usual impulsive habits. But he wasn't fast enough, and she launched herself into a dropkick.
"This is gonna hurt," he thought, standing calmly as she flew toward him, her kicks connecting with his chest but lumia eyes widened at what happens next.
The energy from her attack was absorbed into Max's body, leaving Lumia hanging mid-air for a second before she dropped with a thud onto the floor.
"Argh! What just happened?" she groaned, looking up at him in confusion.
As she stood up, she shot him a deadly glare. "Stupid brother, you better tell me the truth right now, or you know what's gonna happen!" She placed her hands on her hips, narrowing her eyes at him, clearly not amused.
"Well, I got superpowers," Max replied with a shrug. He had long ago learned not to lie to his sister—Lumina had an uncanny ability to see through his lies, almost like a superpower of her own.
Lumina frowned, her brow furrowing even deeper. "You're not lying? But how is this even possible?" she asked, eyes narrowing in suspicion as she studied him.
Max scratched the back of his head. "It's complicated. I'm not exactly Iron Man or the Hulk, though." He paused, thinking. "Maybe more powerful than them? I can absorb energy and use it for magic or... well, stuff like this." He gestured to the spot where she had fallen after her kick had been absorbed.
Lumina crossed her arms, still skeptical. "So what, you're some kind of energy sponge now?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"yes" Max said, as Lumia got a good head on her shoulders, she knew how to keep things or two to herself.
