Max sat in the middle of the large, abandoned station, looking around. It had been weeks since he started coming here regularly. The place had become a kind of sanctuary for him. Occasionally, his sister Lumia would join him, and they'd spar to help her sharpen her powers while he observed her abilities in action.
Lumia's powers were impressive and fearsome. She wielded abilities like Spear of Death, Reanimation, Death Parade, and Touch of the Deceased. All of these were part of her initial skillset, and each one was powerful in its own right. So far, she had used all of them except Death Parade, a passive skill that boosted the power of her summoned entities, as only after getting a undead could she check out its powers.
Max couldn't help but admire her growth as she pushed herself, but at the same time, it gave him a glimpse of just how strong his younger sister was becoming.
"It's too... empty," Max mumbled as he looked around the large, abandoned station. His eyes drifted to the side, where Rize was practicing her blood manipulation, forming cold, crimson weapons and arranging them with precision.
"It would've been better if I had summoned a scientist type," Max thought to himself, watching her display of raw power. He appreciated her skills, but something more technical could've been useful for enhancing the space.
"Well, let's get this done," Max said as he stood up and gestured for Rize to join him.
"Yes, Max," Rize responded, stepping toward him. He had insisted she call him by his name, finding titles like "Master" or "Young Master" too cringeworthy for his taste. It still made her pause sometimes, but she complied, respecting his preference.
Max glanced around the empty station again, thoughts already forming on how to make it feel less hollow and more like a true base of operations.
"Rize, let's fight again," Max said with a determined look. Without hesitation, both of them got into position, ready for another round of intense training.
Max's powers were formidable. Dance of Light and Darkness gave him full control over both light and shadow, allowing him to manipulate them with precision. His Night's Armament ability allowed him to create weapons out of Soul, Darkness, and Death itself, giving him an endless arsenal. Lastly, his Mist Ruler skill let him command abyssal mist, which he could use for both offense and defense, or even create illusions to deceive his opponents.
Rize, on the other hand, was a royal vampire with mastery over Blood Manipulation. She could control her blood and others' to form weapons, shields, or even devastating attacks. Her royal lineage made her blood control more powerful and refined, giving her an edge in combat.
Max summoned a blade made of soul-infused darkness, the edges flickering with an ominous glow. Rize, in turn, conjured several crimson blades from her blood, their sharpness gleaming under the dim light of the abandoned station.
With a smirk, Max darted forward, his sword clashing against Rize's blood weapons. The air filled with the sounds of battle, the clash of metal against blood, as both fighters pushed each other to their limits.
But soon, Max found himself being pushed back by Rize. Despite having a wide array of powerful abilities, he was still only a level 1 human with limited enhancements from his class and energy empowerment. His Energy Absorption ability gave him immense stamina, allowing him to keep fighting for extended periods, but it came with a critical flaw—if someone broke through his defenses with a strong enough attack, his body wouldn't be able to absorb it all. That would be his downfall.
Boom!
Rize's blood weapons struck with brutal precision, forcing Max on the defensive. Each hit reminded him that, while he had potential, he was still far from mastery. The gap in experience and skill was evident, but that only fueled his determination.
Every day, Max trained with Rize, pushing himself to the limit. He worked tirelessly to improve his Omni-Energy Ruler ability, slowly gaining better control over the light, darkness, and mist that made up his powers. His swordsmanship improved with each session, refining his technique and strategy, learning how to anticipate and counter Rize's ruthless attacks.
His daily training was more than just survival; it was the path to mastering his powers and finding his unique style of fighting. Little by little, Max was getting stronger, his stamina, energy control, and fighting skills evolving with every battle.
Not to mention, Max had received a quest related to his training, which rewarded him with skill points and experience. This quest was essential in pushing him out of his level 1 state and advancing him to the next levels. As he trained, he steadily accumulated skill points, but he made the conscious decision to save them for later.
Max realized that while he could immediately invest these points to enhance his abilities, it would be more beneficial in the long run to train and develop his skills naturally first. By doing this, he could maximize the effectiveness of the skill points when it came time to upgrade. He knew that as his skills reached higher levels, they would require more time and effort to improve, making the saved points invaluable for those moments when progress would become more difficult.
So, for now, Max focused on refining his control, pushing the limits of his abilities, and waiting for the right moment to use his accumulated skill points to make a significant leap in power.
A whole year passed, filled with relentless training and countless battles. Max had steadily improved, pushing his limits and honing his skills. And soon will soon Thor will arrive too.
But as the time for Thor's arrival drew near, the atmosphere will be shifted dramatically, Nick Fury's paranoia will reach a boiling point; fearing the implications of the Asgardian's return. In a desperate attempt to prepare for whatever might come, he will activate Project Pegasus, a secret initiative aimed at harnessing advanced technology and mystical artifacts, and unknowingly will invite Thanos.
But Max will be ready for it.
