Her beautiful white strand of hair with a slight tinge of violet, were twirled around her delicate soft finger as she was thinking about the sudden call she received from the council. Anyone who saw her, would be enchanted by her charming yet adorable face. With a fair rosy face and long white hair complimented each other. Why wouldn't she be mesmerising, it was not unheard that the only daughter of the Fox Clan was an enchanting beauty. Surrounded by two older brothers that were known for their protectiveness, Selene lived a nonchalant lifestyle. With the absence of her mother, from whom she inherited her hetrochromatic eyes, her father and her brothers were her only family. So it was given that they would be overprotective of her.
With a stark contrast, stood Anguis with his jet black hair and hazel brown eyes. He stood 6 feet 3 inches tall and had a striking appearance that could make anyone wonder whether he was real or not. Anguis came from the Snake Clan which held the title of Duke unlike Selene , whose father was the prime minister. The harshness he faced during his childhood was now a part of his distant personality. One couldn't imagine how much the child behind his cold exterior had to endure and how much it craved for the warmth of love.
Selene's appearance in his life had given him the hope of the warm summer after a long dreadful winter. And after that incident he was sure that he had no intentions of letting go of his little fox.

Anguis' pov
We were taking the stairs to the second floor which lead us to the council. The institute was away from the capital of Elenora. It was an ancient castle that was made a few centuries ago. The castle had five floors and was surrounded by a large garden. Each floor was connected to each other by two sets of stairs except the last two floors. The fourth floor had only one stairway which connected it to the third floor but it was locked using a high level spell. The second stairway of the third floor was directly connected to the fifth floor.
As we walked further towards the room, I could feel the presence of a magical spirit but I couldn't exactly point out what it was. All the thoughts in my mind went away when I heard her hypnotic voice calling me.
"Anguis" she whispered. Her voice could be barely heard.
"What?" I said.
I didn't mean to talk like that but whenever I am near her I can't help but lose my mind. I mean who wouldn't. Her presence did wonders to me, my soul didn't want to leave her alone. If I could, I would look into her eyes forever which shined so bright that it could make anyone blind. I want to cherish her, kiss her soft cheeks, caress her soft hair, dance with her in the rain, go on walk with her every morning, cry to her about my childhood, listen to the every story she shares, comfort her when she is sad, make a family with her. But I don't think I deserve her. She is so carefree. My scarred heart will poison hers as well. But if she ever thinks about being with me, there is no chance in hell that I will ever let her go.
"Anguis, are you even listening to me?" She looked annoyed at this point.
"What were you saying?"
"Shall we go inside? We are standing here for past 5 minutes now." She had a frown on her face. How can someone look so cute with a frown, I wonder."
"Yes." I replied.
As we walked in, our gaze met with a pair of sharp eyes of a young handsome boy. The boy was sitting across the room in front a black wooden table with his hands folded across his chest. I sensed a great amount of spiritual energy coming from him.
"I was waiting for you both. Good afternoon, kindly have a seat. I am sure that you know my name by now but just for the sake of formality, let me introduce myself again. I am Alexandra and I am here on the behalf of another council member, who had an urgent matter to take care of. We have invited you here in order to talk about your marriage. We know that you have already completed the formalities regarding your marital status and have request for the information to not be disclosed to any one in the school but we have a policy for the couples to share a room."
"But there was no such rule until the last year." I told him. I would be the happiest man of this universe to share a room with Selene but that doesn't mean that I want her to be uncomfortable.
"Yes, this rule came to existence this year. It was quite sudden that we couldn't inform you but in order to compensate, we have arranged a room that would allow you to keep your marriage a secret."
"How will you do that?" Came Selene's voice. She seemed intrigued by the whole idea.
"We have put a spell on your room such that it has two entry points. You just need to make sure to not let anyone enter your room. Rest all will be handled."
Why am I stuck here with these airheads? I palm my face with my hands.
"That's an interesting idea. People of this country have a fascinating insight."
I was just being sarcastic but it seems that they actually believed it.
"Thank you. You should take some rest now. You must be tired."
Finally, it was over.
Now, I get to share a room with my wife. Her family didn't even let me see her face after our marriage ceremony. Now, no one can stop me. But I still need to confirm whether she is comfortable or not.
