Isabella Martini - POV
We had been sitting in silence for a long time when Sofia finally let out a deep breath as she took my hand in hers. "The witch has agreed to meet you after a lot of persuasion," she said, and a huge smile broke out on my face. "But, she said that she can only meet you after a week."
"Why is that?" I asked her, and she shrugged her shoulder.
"She said that she had something important to do. But I think it is good enough, right?" Sofia asked me while I remained silent. I was not sure if this was good or bad. Looking at Arlo, I can see that his condition is worsening, and even though the doctor never told me, I have a feeling that there is not much time.
"Bella?" I looked up and saw Sofia looking at me with worry. "Are you all right?" she asked me, and I nodded my head.
"Yeah." I breathed out.
"You sure have a death wish, sister!" both Sofia and I looked towards the rose bushes when we saw Jacob making his way towards us.
"What are you doing in here?" Sofia asked him as we both got up from our place and walked towards him.
"Arlo mind linked me and asked me to get you two out of this place," Jacob said as he nodded at me in a way of greeting. "Shall we go, Bella?" he asked me, and I nodded my head.
As we walked out of there, I felt like someone was watching me, but when I turned around, there was no one in sight. "Bella," Jacob called out, which made me turn around to face him. "Wear something nice. You are meeting the pack tonight."
"What? But I thought I already met them on my first day here." I asked him referring to the dinner we had on my first day here.
"Well, that is only the important members. Arlo wants to officially show you around to everyone." Jacob said, and I nodded my head when I felt Sofia grip my hand and pull me towards the pack house.
"Where are we going?" I asked Sofia as she dragged me to the elevator and pressed the floor to Arlo's quarters.
"To find the perfect dress for you. I never thought Arlo would do this so soon" Sofia kept babbling while I tuned her out. As I reached my bedroom, she ran inside and made her way into my closet while I took a seat on my bed waiting for her.
Fifteen minutes later, she came back out with three dresses in her hand, and simply said, I don't think I would be comfortable wearing any of it. "So, which one do you like?" she asked me with a raised eyebrow.
"None of it," I said. "This is not me, Sofia. They all look a little…"
"Revealing." I turned around to see Arlo standing near the doorway with a stern look on his face.
"Come on, Arlo. Don't you think she should show off those beautiful curves of hers?" Sofia asked while Arlo's eyes were locked with mine.
"Your brother is looking for you, Sofia," he said in a dismissive tone, and the smile on Sofia's face faded away. She glanced at me one last time before she placed those clothes on the bed and silently walked out of there.
"The elders are coming to pay us a visit tonight," Arlo said as he started walking inside. I have never seen the elders before despite being the Luna of my previous pack. But all I know is if they are coming, then it is not definitely good news.
"Why are they coming?" I barely heard my voice, and I doubt that he heard it either.
"You know that an Alpha cannot rule the pack for a very long time without a Luna, right?" he asked me, and I nodded my head. Alphas are the strongest wolves, and the longer they go on without a Luna, their wolf side starts to take control, and that would never end up good for either the Alpha or the pack.
Well, it is also because of that rule that my life got ruined as well. Gael was supposed to mate with Lorena, but when she was murdered, he almost went crazy, a few days later, I heard my father say that he got a letter from the elders urging him to take a second mate soon or face the consequences.
But till now, I have no idea what was the consequence.
"I know, but I have never heard the elders coming down to a pack." I asserted.
"Word has already spread out that I was losing control of my wolf. And now that I have you, the elders want to make sure that we are truly a thing," he explained. "So I want you to act like we are in love with each other, got it?" he asked me, and I nodded my head.
"Sure, it's only for the night, right," I said, but when Arlo shook his head, I felt like my heart nearly jumped out of my throat.
"They are staying in here for a few days."
"What?"
"I have already informed the maid. They would move all your clothes into my closet. You will be spending the time with me." Arlo said. "And before I forget," he said and walked into the room and placed a bag on the bed before he walked out.
This is not good. I mumbled, knowing very well that if we stayed close together, this would only trigger the mate bond, and there would be higher chances of me going into heat. I didn't get to think this through for a long time because soon the maids walked into my room and began clearing my closet.
"Luna." I looked up from my seated position when I saw an older woman with a smile on her face. With the black uniform she was wearing, I understood that she must be the senior maid. "The party would be starting in an hour, and Alpha Bianchi told me that he would be here to get you in half an hour," she explained, and I nodded my head, knowing what I should be doing right now.
