Alpha Arlo Bianchi - POV
I had to force myself to leave the dining area as my nostrils filled with the most divine scent of my life, her arousal. I never thought that the moon goddess would even give me a mate after everything that I have done.
But every time I see Bella, something within me stirs, and every time I touch her, the tingles that flow through my body, make me feel a little alive.
Stop it, Arlo. You cannot have her. I scolded myself as I made my way to my room and locked the door behind me. I quickly removed my clothes and threw them in the laundry basket as I made my way to the floor-length mirror and stared at my reflection.
My eyes zoomed in on the scars that were littered on my chest. A stark reminder of who I am and what I have done. I moved my hand up and lightly traced the long scar that was running across my left pec to my abdomen.
That served as a reminder of the failure I was. I couldn't even save my mother when the rogue tore her apart while I was left on the forest floor bleeding. I have made a lot of enemies as I got my pack up in the ranks, and I know there would be a lot of people out there eager to get their revenge. And Bella has come in as the perfect trump card for that.
"I need mate." Leo, growled in my head as I pushed him down. I don't want to lose control right now when my mate is only a few doors down.
"You know we would only do more harm than good, Leo. We cannot have her." I reasoned when I felt him try to push my barrier. I turned around and quickly walked toward my bedside table and pulled out the drawer. I noticed the hair on my hand got longer while the pain shot through my body as Leo tried to force himself out. I quickly grabbed the transparent bottle and unscrewed the cap as I took three pills and swallowed it without water.
"Mate!" I heard Leo growl in my head, but his voice was now weaker as he gradually retreated to the back of my mind. My breathing was heavy as I held onto the table, sweat was dripping from my eyebrows despite the air conditioner running. Leo would only try to gain control when I was near any rogues, but Bella was making this difficult for me.
I felt my eyelids get heavy as the medicine started to kick in. I moved back as I plopped on the bed while my head hit the pillow. Leo is a side of me that I could never control, and if I let him anywhere near Bella, I am afraid he might tear her.
My mind was getting foggy as my eyes shut, and I welcomed the darkness around me.
Isabella Martini - POV
I finally gave up trying to sleep as I got up from the bed and looked at the time, which read that it was five am. "Why the fuck didn't you let me sleep, Rose?" I growled at her irritated.
"I don't want to talk to you." she sassed back as she put the block up. I let out an annoyed groan as I got up from bed and made my way to the bathroom. After completing my morning routine, I walked into the closet and looked at the array of clothes in front of me. After fifteen minutes of debating what to wear, I decided to wear a pair of skinny jeans with a crop top, paired it with some nude wedges, and made my way out of my room.
Just when I was closing my room door, the elevator doors opened, and Jacobs stepped out of it. "Good morning, Luna Bella." he greated me, and I nodded my head.
"What are you doing in here?" I asked him as my eyes scanned his body. He was wearing a plain grey t-shirt with a pair of shorts, and from his messy hair, it looked like he just got out of bed.
"I came here to take you down for breakfast." he asserted, but there was something in his eyes that told me there was more to this.
"Okay, but it is only five-thirty. Does your pack serve breakfast this early?" I asked him as he walked toward me and came to a stop just two meters away from me.
"Well, no. But I came to make something for you. So, let's go." he said and grabbed my hand as he pulled me towards the elevator.
"But I can make something for myself in the kitchen over here," I argued as we got inside and the elevator began its descent.
"Trust me, you don't want to be in there right now," Jacob said as he looked me in the eye.
"So you know what happened last night?" I asked him, but he didn't say anything. "When do you think he would throw me out of this pack?"
"He would not do that, Bella. Just give him some time, and he will come around." Jacob reasoned, but I shook my head. My eyes were already welling up with tears.
"Do you know how much my heart hurt when he told me that he doesn't even need me, Jacob? I felt like someone was pouring molten lava over it. You have no idea what I went through before you found me on your border." tears were flowing down my cheeks as I roughly wiped them away. "How could someone not want their fated mate?" I asked him.
Ding.
I turned towards the door to see that we had reached the ground floor. "I am not hungry," I whispered as I rushed out of the elevator and made my way outside. I don't know why I am acting this way, but this mate bond between us is gradually growing, and I know that I will reach a point where I will not be able to stay away from Arlo.
