Chapter 3 - Don't want to be king

Tiamat looked at Hades with a very big question. "Do you want to become king of the gods"

Hades looked at her stopping his training. "In my younger days yes... But no"

Tiamat raised an eyebrow at Hades' response, her curiosity evident. "And why not? You've gained more power than ever before. You've trained for centuries, mastering the void, the sea, and chaos itself. Why not claim the throne? Surely you could do better than Zeus."

Hades sighed, wiping sweat from his brow. He glanced at the soldiers of the void he had created, watching them train in silence before turning back to Tiamat. "In my younger days, I would have fought tooth and nail for the throne. The power, the control—it was all that mattered to me. But now… after all this time, I see things differently."

Tiamat tilted her head, intrigued by his change in perspective. "And what is it that you see now?"

"I've spent eons watching gods and mortals alike chase power, control, and glory," Hades began, his tone reflective. "Zeus, Poseidon, even myself—we all got caught in the same cycle. But being a king doesn't mean having power over others. It means responsibility, sacrifice, and ensuring the balance between worlds."

He paused, gazing into the endless void. "I don't want the throne for power or to rule over anyone. I want to ensure that the mistakes of the past aren't repeated. I want to protect what remains, guide the gods into a future where we don't repeat the same destructive patterns."

Tiamat crossed her arms, her eyes never leaving his. "Noble words. But without someone strong enough to lead, the gods will fall into chaos again. If you don't take the throne, who will? Zeus? Another arrogant god waiting to make the same mistakes?"

Hades clenched his fists, feeling the weight of her words. He knew she was right. If he didn't step up, the cycle could continue—Zeus or another god would take control, and the same battles and betrayals would play out once more.

"I'm not running from responsibility," he finally said, his voice firm. "But I don't need to be king to guide them. I will be the force that ensures balance, that keeps the gods in check. If I have to, I'll fight Zeus. I'll fight them all to protect the world from another apocalypse. But ruling… that's a burden I don't need."

Tiamat studied him for a moment before a smile tugged at her lips. "You've grown wiser than I expected. Perhaps that's why Chaos and Order chose you. Not because you're the strongest, but because you understand the burden of leadership."

Hades chuckled dryly. "Funny how it works out, isn't it?"

Tiamat nodded. "Very well, Hades. You don't have to take the throne. But remember, in this war, power will not be enough. You will need allies, and some may only follow you if they see you as their king."

"I'll cross that bridge when I come to it," Hades said with a slight smirk. "For now, I'll focus on stopping Zeus from burning the world to ashes."

Tiamat gave him a knowing look. "Then your training must continue. You'll need everything I've taught you—and more."

Hades nodded, rolling his shoulders as he prepared to dive back into the endless void training once again. "Let's get to it, then."

Tiamat then had an idea. "Your worried that Zues becoming the god of death will mess it up, so how about this, when the string will be pull Posident pick the sky, you allow Zues to take the sea which leaves you back to your role as the god of death that you always love"

Hades paused, processing Tiamat's suggestion. His brow furrowed as he considered the implications. "Poseidon taking the sky and Zeus the sea?" He mused aloud. "That would certainly change things..."

Tiamat stepped closer, her eyes gleaming with the brilliance of her idea. "Think about it, Hades. You've always had an affinity for the Underworld. That role has shaped you, made you who you are. But with Zeus aiming to take everything, the balance is at risk. By shifting the roles, you secure what you know best—the dead, the souls, the order of life and death. Poseidon can reign over the sky, Zeus can take the sea, and you'll keep what you were always meant to be."

Hades rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "It would solve a lot of problems. Zeus wouldn't be fit to rule over death. His impulsiveness and lust for power would corrupt the natural order."

Tiamat nodded, a smile tugging at her lips. "Exactly. He's too chaotic to handle the delicate balance of the afterlife. But the sea? His temperament might fit better there. And Poseidon… well, he's always had a thirst for freedom. Let him have the skies to roam."

Hades' eyes darkened slightly. "But convincing them of this... Zeus won't just give up his claim to the sky, and Poseidon might see this as a trap. It'll take more than just words."

Tiamat waved a hand dismissively. "Of course. They're your brothers, stubborn and proud. But if you play this right, you can present it as their choice. Let Zeus see the benefits of ruling the vast seas, and Poseidon the majesty of the sky. All the while, you secure your true domain without much resistance."

Hades considered it for a moment longer before nodding slowly. "It could work. If I maneuver carefully, this could shift the power dynamic without a war—at least, not immediately. And I'll remain where I'm strongest, where I belong."

Tiamat's smile widened. "Exactly. You've always been the god of death, Hades. It's your calling, and no one can take that from you. Let them fight over the skies and seas if they must. But you... you will reign over something far more eternal—the inevitable fate of all."

Hades smirked, feeling a spark of excitement at the prospect of reshaping the fate of the gods. "It's a dangerous gamble, but if it works, the world might just avoid the apocalypse that Chaos and Order spoke of."

Tiamat placed a hand on his shoulder, her touch radiating warmth. "You've trained for centuries, Hades. You're ready for this. When the time comes, you'll know how to act."

Hades looked up at her, feeling a sense of gratitude for her guidance. "Thank you, Tiamat. Your wisdom has been invaluable."

She gave him a wink. "Just remember to send me a message when it all works out. I do love hearing about a good plan coming together."

Hades chuckled. "You'll be the first to know."

As he prepared to continue his training, the weight of Tiamat's idea settled in his mind. The future was uncertain, but with a plan in place, he felt more prepared than ever. He would change the course of history—not through brute force, but through cunning and strategy.

Zeus, Poseidon, the rest of the gods... they wouldn't know what hit them.

Tiamat then spoke. "And the only thing you need to sense you will be sent back as a kid, to righ the string's"

Hades nodded and looked at her. "That is great idea... But how do i not get caught"

Tiamat just shrugged. "Magic"

Hades blinked at Tiamat, incredulous. "Magic? That's your grand solution?"

Tiamat grinned, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Yes, magic. You gods love to overthink things, but sometimes the simplest answer is the best. The magic of the void, my blessing—it'll cloak you, let you slip through time unnoticed. You won't be caught, not unless you're reckless."

Hades rubbed his temples, sighing. "Right, because being sent back as a child and rewiring the fate of gods isn't reckless enough."

Tiamat chuckled softly. "Oh, it will be difficult. But you're Hades. You've trained for centuries under me. Besides, you'll have a bit of an advantage. No one will suspect you, especially as a kid."

Hades couldn't argue with that logic. "So, I'll be a child... How far back are we talking?"

Tiamat pondered for a moment. "Far enough for you to influence things before they spiral out of control. You'll be there at the start, long before Zeus and Poseidon make their claims. You'll have time to set the stage."

Hades crossed his arms, thinking it over. "Alright, that works. But I'll need to avoid raising suspicion. If anyone catches wind that I'm not just some child..."

Tiamat waved him off. "That's where the magic comes in. You'll have enough of my power to keep yourself hidden. Your memories will remain intact, but your body will be that of a child. Play your cards right, and no one will realize you're rewriting destiny until it's too late."

Hades nodded, feeling the weight of the plan settle on his shoulders. "It sounds risky... but it might just work."

Tiamat's smile softened. "Don't worry. You won't be alone. You'll have allies along the way, some who will help you when the time is right. And remember, you can always call on me. You're part of my brood now."

Hades couldn't help but smirk. "I suppose having the Mother of all Creation in my corner is a decent backup plan."

"Exactly," Tiamat said with a wink. "Now, prepare yourself. It's almost time."

Hades took a deep breath, feeling the energy around him shift. The void trembled as the time to return to the past drew near. He had trained, prepared, and now he would face the biggest challenge of all—fixing the strings of fate before the gods destroyed the world again.

"Let's do this," Hades said, his voice firm.

Tiamat stepped back, her form glowing with power. "Good luck, Hades. The fate of the gods rests in your hands."

And with that, everything around him twisted, the void collapsing into a spiral of light and darkness. Hades felt his body shift, shrinking, the power within him coiling into a smaller vessel. As he hurtled through time and space, his mind raced with the task ahead.

He was going back, back to when it all began.

Tiamat then looked at him. "So I have noting for to teach you, I gess we have one thing to make your ultimate weapon, and don't worry even after you go back in time we will still have a mental communication, you are one my favorite child hades"

Hades looked at Tiamat, a flicker of surprise in his eyes. "My ultimate weapon?" he repeated, intrigued by the idea.

Tiamat nodded with a sly smile. "Yes. Every god needs something that represents their power. And considering what's ahead of you, you'll need a weapon capable of withstanding the forces you're going to face."

Hades crossed his arms, feeling a weight settle on his chest. "What kind of weapon are we talking about? Something from the void? Or the Underworld?"

Tiamat chuckled softly, stepping closer. "A combination of both, perhaps. Something forged from the deepest corners of chaos, imbued with the essence of the sea, void, and death. It will be an extension of you, Hades. A weapon that only you can wield."

Hades raised an eyebrow, impressed. "Alright. So how do we forge it?"

Tiamat raised her hand, and the void around them began to swirl. "I'll guide you through it. But this weapon will require more than just physical strength. It will need to reflect your will, your determination to change the fate of the gods."

Hades grinned. "I'm ready. Let's forge this thing."

Tiamat's eyes gleamed with excitement. "Good. You'll need to channel all the power you've accumulated during your training. We'll use the essence of chaos, the void, and death to forge a weapon unlike anything the gods have ever seen."

As the void churned, a shimmering form began to take shape—a blade of pure darkness, pulsing with the energy of the Underworld, chaos, and void. Hades stepped forward, feeling the pull of the weapon, as if it was calling to him.

Tiamat's voice softened. "This will be your key to rewriting destiny. A symbol of your power, Hades. Now, reach out and claim it."

Hades extended his hand, grasping the hilt of the weapon. The moment he touched it, a surge of energy coursed through him, filling him with newfound strength. The blade felt like an extension of himself, a manifestation of his will to protect the balance of life and death.

"This... is perfect," Hades murmured, marveling at the weapon's power.

Tiamat smiled warmly. "I knew you'd say that. Now, with this weapon, you're ready to face whatever comes your way. And remember, no matter where you go, I'll always be with you. We'll be able to communicate mentally."

Hades looked at her, feeling a strange sense of comfort. "Thank you, Tiamat. I won't let you down."

"You're one of my favorite children, Hades," Tiamat said softly. "I have full faith in you. Now, go and set things right."

With a final nod, Hades gripped his new weapon, feeling a wave of determination wash over him. He was ready. Ready to face his past, rewrite the fate of the gods, and change the course of history.

And with Tiamat's guidance, nothing would stand in his way.
