In just a blink of an eye, the stand-off between Ognar and the devil ended as quickly as it started.
The man is standing above the beheaded creature, pointing the blade of his preferred weapon choice unto its impaled neck. As that the devil met the same fate as its prey.
"Just who are you, people?", Florian asked out of disbelief. "That devil, we could not even bear an eye against it. How did you defeat that thing so easily."
In his tone came gratitude and unexpectedly, spite, in a sense that how could they have such power and ability to exorcise the devil.
"Ha! Hahaha!" all of a sudden, Ognar burst into a mere laugh. He's gawking like laughing on an ignorant baby falling from its foot.
"Seems like you still haven't realized at all, aren't you?", he added.
"Huh!?"
"In front of something like a devil or any supernatural being, do you really think that a mere like you, like us, would count?"
Ognar, after finishing the devil and bringing it down to the ground, as it should be, lifts his right leg out of the devil's frigid body. He counts it as victory and he slowly moves toward Florian's and Victor's direction.
"Despite all of that, can you still say that you're mere human?", Florian ranted.
"Yeah, we are. We are just humans like you, powerless and ignorant. All but under God's grace," Ognar boldly stated. Victor as do his usual nod of agreement.
"Then how can you have such things like magic and everything? This things like sorcery or anything cannot exist in this modern world, then how could that be?", again Florian burst out his spite on the matter.
"You heard it, right?" Victor, who usually conveys his words in subtle gestures, spoke to Florian.
Florian is confused to what he's trying to convey but in some time, he would rationalize it.
"That voice, it spoke to you right?", Ognar have said to follow up what Victor have said.
"Voice, did he mean that one who spoke to me in silence? How could he know such a thing?", Florian in his inner dialogue upon reflecting.
Ognar lifts his halberd again and out of nowhere, he swung it to his side, cleaning removing off the blood stains in the blade tip.
While his a meter away from them, he opened his mouth, "Your own salvation, it's up to you if you accept it or not," he stated it as to hint off more nuance proposition, just like in parables.
Instead of arguing, Florian chose to held his peace and start reflecting unto himself.
Still having to experience being maimed that he almost passed from his body, he holds up his left arm and supported his decapitated limb.
Ognar, seeing his benignant and quick reflection, uttered a word of reassurance, "I hope you understand the situation very well, and let God grace you with wisd-!"
In the narrow gust of air, sensation of uncanniness reemerges. Shrieking and creaking, howling and moans of swarms can be heard all over again.
It is as if like something will appear, far more atrocious than before. Before it was an eerily feeling of three in the morning, now it is the nightmare itself.
"This enigma, it should have ceased after that devil passed," Ognar mumbled when the chills got to his nerves.
"Yet it never did. That should probably explain the creeps."
It's not also too long for Florian to spot the unsettling feeling.
"It's crippling back again, I thought he finished off the devil completely!" Florian taps his chest to lessen the racing shortness of breath in his lungs. His body haven't yet able to adapt in the on and off atmosphere.
Victor so as did feel the sensation. Raising his clairvoyance on the surroundings, he sticked out his foot to use it as sensory tool, rubbing it to the ground.
He feigned up his fist clasping it into wise grip. Yet as that, fear cannot mark in his expression.
"The Pandemonium. Now I see why we haven't able to return to the outside world, even if I killed that devil," Ognar clinched his halberd and heightening his ward.
In the food cycle, even the predator has something that is higher than it is. Like in the restaurant setting, even if they killed one of its cooks or how many they exorcise, surely the chef will come out to check the situation.
A gust of wind circulated around the certain point of area inside the house, over the body of the previous devil. As the winds ceased, so as did crimson blood flowed out of the corps in an elliptical manner.
Violent sounds of creaking moans and noises followed through the medium of the emerging entity's arrival.
"I don't like this feeling. This is bad! If this goes on, I don't know what will happen next," Florian affirmed to himself. He straightened up his posture, raising up his chin.
He clinched his left hand and he marked off a strained expression in his face. Fear could be seen in his face even after his relieveness from before.
"Stand back, kid," Ognar holded out his hand to cover Florian. Ognar settled out his legs and stretched it out to gather up momentum for his charge.
"Something bad is coming out, so set yourself to fight for your own life."
"Be prepared also, Victor. Cover me after my charge," Ognar then told Victor who are more than also ready for the strike.
"Their reactions, it's deeper than what they have shown from before," Florian said to himself.
He noticed Ognar's demeanor change and his reflex towards the emergence of a new entity. Victor also displayed his reaction towards the situation and started to act out as what ordered.
"Could it really that this one would be far more terrifying?", he added.
"Ognar, it seems like the Pandemonium itself won't disappear even after many neutralization,"
Arzen showed himself and revealed the current situation. "We have no choice but to defeat this devil first."
Arzen crackled his fingers and then his neck for warm-ups.
Out of the blue, or more like out of the red, slender fingertips were first to came out.
Then palms of rotten flesh raised up and used the side of the hole as a leverage for it to come up easily. In the few moments, the devil revealed itself in front of the gentlemen.
"Well, well, well, my very dear guest coming from the God Father." The apex of the domain showed itself and it have a compelling introduction.
"I wanna apologize for my crews' rude behavior. It probably have that they have been hot-blooded when it comes to new customers. I swore in the name of Lord Beezlebub for them. We all wait for his coming!"
The devil introduced itself in something that you wouldn't expect from an entity of hell. Now to account for its appearance, it has the same features as the other two.
Slender figure, brackish-red flesh, height of over 6 foot tall, and luminous grim of light from its mouth and empty eyes. But bones from the flesh marked itself, like it is forming a skeletal structure around the devil's body. (You know like the fifth-tail Kyubi form of Naruto)
The devil also has a sense of fashion. It's wearing an apron-like clothing, covered in stains of blood of those who encountered it.
It prided the title of a chef with its topper hat over its head, hanging on to its horns.
"I didn't know devil can pride itself to welcome us, servants of the Lord. Have you all already realized your repentance?"
Ognar smooth-talked with the devil, but actually he's ready to attack in any moment if given the chance.
"My, my. It's a bit harsh, Mr. Blue-head. Haven't you know that we also know how to pray?", the devil answered.
It has a delightful grin, just like the other two, feasting on human's fear.
"Well, I should have thought that devils don't have chance to ascend even how much they pray." Arzen came in to aid the situation and make the situation 3 to 1.
"Hmm? I'm outnumbered. Isn't ganging up on me a bit unfair?", the devil pointed the sheer disadvantage even if it didn't mind at all.
"Unfair? Nice word from a devil like you."
Ognar, Arzen, Victor, without no any further ado, charged their strength and rushed to attack the devil while it is still not moving from its position.
Ognar thrusted out his halberd, Arzen brought out a sickle-scythe rained in bunch of chains and hacked it off. Victor holds out his arm, ready to swing it.
But not before they launched their strike, the devil takes out something from the hole it emerged out.
"Wait! He's holding out something!", Florian warned them as he noticed its intention.
"Well, before we fight to death, how about we have our dinner first?"
The devil pulled a creepious object and showed it to the gentlemen.
But the first to recognize what is it, is no other than Florian. As he saw it, he felt like he's under the grave.
"No way… This can't be! Freia!?"
