"Training dummy..." Kai sat on his bed staring at the farthest wall in the corner of the room.
"Is it bothering you, the way he said it?" Ava whispered, they amongst the four were the only ones still awake after Shin's visit and subsequent departure.
"I don't really care, it's just that the notion of a normal life even if it's as someone's punching bag, it just doesn't feel real to me, a week ago we were running from a crab demon, how am I supposed to process this?" He asked her, but to his surprise she only chuckled and remained silent.
"Well?" Kai asked after her silence had gotten to him, but upon checking the girl resting on his leg, all he got as a response was a light snore, so with a sigh he closed his eyes as well.
"You are enjoying your time in thie cursed place, Kai, to what end would you protect this peace?"
