…Adrianas's POV…
My first official day as the designer in the Willingham jewelry company.
It wasn't very hectic, not as I expected.
Kent came to drop good news.
Our next attack on the Willinghams would be so cool. So humiliating. I was very proud of him.
When I got home, I was introduced to Taylor Seville, Selenas's Fiancée.
He wasn't all that cool. Not as she had emphasized.
Eric seemed to fancy him a lot though.
"Mrs Adriana Willingham, It's a pleasure to finally meet you." Taylor said, stretching his hands.
"It's nice to meet you Taylor." I smiled, taking his hands.
He handed me a box, wrapped neatly.
"I'm sorry I couldn't attend your wedding, I had a very important business trip." He said.
"It's alright." Eric replied. "Come, we should join others on the table."
We were all seated before Daven walked in.
That was when I noticed I haven't laid eyes on him all day.
At least, unlike this morning, his eyes weren't on me this time, instead, they were boring into Taylor.
"Daven, it's nice to see you." Taylor said with a grim smile.
"But, I hope everything is good with you," he added.
"Like, I hope Selena's safety is assured."
My mouth fell open at Taylor's disrespectful words.
I looked around the table, no one was saying anything. Not even Selena who claimed to love Daven so much.
I was about to say something when Francis opened his mouth, threatening to throw Taylor out if he doesn't control his tongue.
"Excuse me," Daven said when his phone rang.
He went to the farthest end of the hall, and picked the call.
Dinner went smoothly after that. I still hated Taylor and his audacity.
"Adriana, My love," Eric said, pulling me close when we got to our room.
My face creased in disgust, hoping he wasn't planning to make an attempt to get me laid. I didn't have the energy to fight back today.
Instead, he said, "I got you something," He pulled out a cute little box from his pockets.
He opened it, revealing a bold diamond Ring.
"Oh My God." I smiled. It was beautiful.
"Do you like it?"
"It's gorgeous, Eric," I.said.
He slipped the ring in my finger right next to my wedding ring.
"It has my name on it," I pointed. The sides of the ring had the name Adriana Willingham inscribed on it.
I can't deny how much I loved this gift.
"Thanks Eric," I said, giving him a hug.
"You deserve it, my beautiful wife." He said.
Eric has never acted this thoughtful, it made me wonder what he wanted. I brushed the thought away though.
Morning came, and I was counting seconds to my next victory.
I felt like staying home today, so I could watch the horror and disappointment on their faces when their family name gets dragged in the mud. But staying home might look off as I've only started working there.
I dressed up, skipped breakfast because I was not in the mood to see their annoying faces then head to the office.
It was around noon when Kent stopped by.
"Don't you have work, Kent?" I raised a brow at the sight of him.
"Lunch break. And no one would notice my absence after that." He said making himself comfortable on the sofa.
"If you say so, Kent."
"You seem to be enjoying this new job." he pointed at the design i was working on.
"Yhup, a little." I said. But Kent knew I was lying. I loved this job so bad. I've always wanted to work in a company where I can create as many unique Jewelry designs as possible.
"You should start your own jewelry line." He said.
"I'll think about it."
After this revenge is done, I'll definitely work towards that.
"Now, enough jewelry talk," I rose from my seat and joined him on the sofa.
"How's the plan?" I asked.
"In motion. Trust me, everything is in motion." He said.
"I've sent the evidence to the TV station. After they broadcast it, the police would raid their hideouts." He grinned.
This was the biggest of our attacks on the Willinghams.
After ruining their deal with the Lukehams and making them look like snitches, other companies have become wary of investing with them.
Now that I have evidence against them for illegal drug dealings, every big and small company would withdraw from them and that is how they would crumble, with no investors, no shareholders and no dignity.
"What?" Kent yelled, ruining my train of thoughts.
He was staring at his phone, with furrowed brows.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I can't access my email." he said, looking at me with wide eyes.
"Why?"
"It looks like someone hacked into it," He said calmly. but there was nothing to be calm about. All the evidence were stored there.
"No! What if someone is trying to trample with what we have?" I yelled.
"Chill. It's saved to your email and devices too. Remember?"
He said.
I hurriedly picked my phone.
Turning it on, I couldn't access any of my applications, It kept showing a big red X and error on the screen.
"Kent! What's going on?!" I yelled. I was freaking out.
He collected the phone quickly, and I ran to my desk to see if I could access my email through my laptop. But there was no access.
"Shit! Shit!" I groaned.
"Fuck it!"
"Ady, I already sent the evidence to the TV station. They'll still broadcast it." Kent assured me.
I still wasn't comfortable with that. I didn't want anything to go wrong with the plan. And who is the fool that managed to get to us?
"Call them, make sure they still have it."
"Alright." He immediately dialed the number.
It rang for a while and no one picked.
"She's not picking." Kent said.
"Call again!" I fired.
"Sure," he called again and this time, the call was declined.
"She fucking declined your call!" My face burned with a fierce heat.
I needed to scream, to slam something.
"She's probably busy at work," Kent said, nervously.
"I don't pay her to be busy when I need her! Bitch!"
"Chill, Ady, The plans wouldn't be ruined. I promise."
"Kent, get your ass to her office!" I slammed my fist on the table, causing the pen to scatter.
"sure," Kent scurried out of the office.
I waited patiently for him to come with results but there was nothing from his end.
I tried calling him but he wasn't picking.
It was evening already and Eric would come pick me up any moment from now.
Just when I had lost all hope on Kent, his call came in.
"What's up?" I asked.
"Ady, bad news. They wouldn't let me into the office." Kent said.
"What do you mean Kent?"
"I don't know. Something Is wrong. The studio's director said she has no business with us!"
My heart pounded in my chest.
So that means all my efforts, investigations, and compilation of evidence was gone to waste?
Fuck!!!
