What the hell? What the freaking hell?
Ning Shu stared at Ling Xue. Gone was the cold, arrogant vibe she used to have; now she looked like a shy little flower, swaying with the slightest breeze.
Seeing how protective An Rong was of Ling Xue made Ning Shu sigh. After just a couple of days away, Ling Xue had upped her game.
Ning Shu could feel the disdain and exclusion in her classmates' gazes. It was clear they had already decided that she had bullied Ling Xue.
She felt like she might puke blood. She hadn't done anything! How could they think she bullied the female lead?
The female lead's combat skills were skyrocketing again. She had both brains and martial arts—was she trying to take over the world? In the past, Ling Xue had acted aloof, ignoring Ning Shu entirely because she believed she could crush anyone easily.
But now Ling Xue was clearly targeting Ning Shu, using these tactics against her.
"You're still saying you didn't bully her? You chased after Ling Xue at Prince Leng's party, trying to hit her! And now you dare say you didn't bully her? She had to stay in bed for days to recover!" An Rong spat, looking at Ning Shu as if she were trash.
Ning Shu's brows twitched. She was so used to Ling Xue's egotistical and proud demeanor that this delicate version felt utterly strange.
An Rong lunged to grab Ning Shu's hair, but Ning Shu dodged and tossed An Rong over her shoulder, making her cry out in pain.
Since Ling Xue wanted to play the innocent little flower, it wouldn't be fair to let her get away with it unscathed. So, Ning Shu turned to Ling Xue and slapped her on both cheeks.
Ling Xue was stunned, covering her face as she stared blankly at Ning Shu, clearly unable to believe that she had actually been slapped. But then her expression shifted to one of icy coldness.
The classroom was shocked by Ning Shu's boldness. From their perspective, this orphan had practically lost her mind by daring to hit the goddess! The title of "goddess" wasn't just for show; it symbolized the entire student body's protection of Ling Xue.
Ning Shu didn't care about her classmates' shocked looks. Those without shoes had nothing to fear from those with shoes. She'd already been kicked out of the Lin family and had no ties left. Plus, she still hadn't found her birth parents, so she felt completely unburdened.
But Ling Xue was different. She had to maintain her beauty, her reserve, and the admiration of the three school princes.
Even An Rong, who had just gotten up while rubbing her waist, looked stunned. She regarded Ning Shu as if she'd lost her mind.
An Rong was furious and embarrassed at being thrown to the ground, but when she saw Ning Shu's crazed expression, she instinctively backed away a little.
An Rong's retreat made Ling Xue's heart sink. She looked around the classroom, realizing that no one was stepping up for her.
The only reason Ling Xue had returned to school so quickly was that Lin Jiajia had been lurking around, staying at school even after classes were over. Her subordinates couldn't enter Ace Academy to hunt her down.
This school was more complicated than it seemed. Before her wings fully grew, she had to play it safe.
To heal her injury, Ling Xue had absorbed a lot of vital energy, even sleeping with Mo Lengxuan several times.
However, maybe because she had absorbed too much from too many people, her spiritual energy had become unstable, occasionally rebounding against her. But she had no choice—cultivation was her only means of protection.
After being injured multiple times by modern weapons, Ling Xue didn't dare underestimate technology anymore. In the past, her disregard for it had led to her getting hurt by those wielding guns.
Things had spiraled downward after she encountered Lin Jiajia. She had to make sure this woman couldn't stay in this school any longer.
