When Ning Shu saw Ling Xue acting like a pitiful, mistreated little wife, she suddenly had the urge to pull out her gun and shoot her in the head. But after thinking it over, she let go of the idea. She couldn't let this body bear the weight of murder.
"Move," Ning Shu snapped, shoving Ling Xue out of the way. Ling Xue stumbled, almost falling over, looking even more fragile. The contrast made Ning Shu appear even more aggressive.
Damn! She's probably acted so much that it's become second nature. Ning Shu couldn't get used to seeing this version of Ling Xue.
Female Lead-sama, where did your badassery go? How could you just change personalities like that? What are people supposed to think?
As soon as Ning Shu left the classroom, she hurried off to the nurse's office. There, she saw the school doctor calmly wearing his glasses and explaining the menstrual cycle to a female student, who was blushing and listening intently. Ning Shu almost felt like she saw a creepy glint of light flash from his eyes.
She broke out in cold sweat on behalf of the student. If any of these girls knew the school doctor was actually a weirdo who pulled out his gun and shot people whenever he felt like it, they would never come to see him again.
The school doctor glanced at Ning Shu and said, "What is it? It's not even dark yet, and you're already here to nap in my office?"
"No, Ling Xue's back in class," Ning Shu replied.
The school doctor gave a casual "oh," then looked at Ning Shu's dumbfounded face. "This is school. You don't seriously expect me to do something to her here, do you?"
Ning Shu was too frustrated to even respond. Talking to this guy was impossible—there was no getting through to him.
What she really meant was that Ling Xue being back meant her life was about to get a lot harder.
Leaving the nurse's office, Ning Shu returned to the classroom. Ling Xue's desk was already surrounded by students—both boys and girls. The most noticeable among them were the three school princes.
As soon as Ning Shu stepped into the classroom, everyone's gaze turned toward her.
She walked toward her seat and saw Ling Xue lying on her desk, ignoring all the comfort and attention being thrown her way. Leng Ao, one of the school princes, looked particularly pained by her condition.
When he saw that Ning Shu was acting completely unaffected, he lashed out, kicking over her three-legged desk.
Damn it! Why does everyone always take it out on her poor desk? It already only had three legs—it was suffering enough.
Ning Shu looked up at Leng Ao with indifference. He hesitated for a moment under her gaze, feeling uneasy, but quickly pushed that down, letting anger take over. He was embarrassed that a "low-class" girl had made him feel intimidated, and it showed on his twisted face.
"I've told you before, don't bully Ling Xue, or I'll make you beg for death," he said, his embarrassment fueling his anger. He was clearly ashamed that he'd been intimidated by Ning Shu's stare just now.
Dealing with an idiot like you already makes people want to beg for death, Ning Shu thought. If it weren't for her mission, she wouldn't even bother acknowledging him.
"Hey! I'm talking to you! What's with that attitude?" Leng Ao barked. He felt like her gaze held both confusion and disdain.
This low-class girl actually dared to look down on him! What right did she have? She was just an orphan!
