Chapter 6 - 6: The School Doctor

Ning Shu leaned against the wall, patiently waiting for her turn. The school doctor glanced at her bruised face, his expression betraying surprise amidst his handsome features. Clearly accustomed to feigned illnesses, encountering an actual injury seemed novel to him.

Ning Shu pointed directly at the bruise on her forehead and said firmly, "Please treat this."

She had assumed the school doctor would be a woman; instead, she found herself faced with such a handsome man. What a waste for someone like him to be confined to a school clinic.

True to the setting where the protagonist resided, even the school doctor was remarkably attractive.

Taking a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol, the doctor applied it harshly to Ning Shu's bruise without any hint of gentleness. She gritted her teeth; even the doctor seemed unnecessarily harsh towards her, despite their lack of history.

Was the entire school under Ling Xue's influence?

After hastily bandaging the wound, the doctor declared, "Done. How did you get injured?"

Her forehead was still bleeding and swollen like a horn, yet this was the extent of his treatment. As someone who had spent over ten years in hospitals, she felt his attitude toward life was disrespectful and irresponsible.

"Is this it?" Ning Shu finally voiced her dissatisfaction, gesturing at her painfully swollen forehead. "I expected more than this crude treatment. Nothing is going well."

Pushing up his glasses, the doctor's eyes flashed with an unsettling intensity as he replied calmly, "Then how would you like me to handle it? Wrap your entire body?"

Clearly, his role as school doctor was merely decorative. How many students here actually needed such a position when their families had private physicians? Yet, here he was faced with a student who genuinely required medical attention, looking at Ning Shu with raised eyebrows.

Ning Shu was at a loss for words. His confident and dismissive tone made it seem as if she were overreacting.

Having just transmigrated, her worldview had already been shattered. School girls could be so fierce, and school doctors so arrogant, unconcerned about potential repercussions from the administration.

Unable to find the right words, Ning Shu rose to leave. Her mind was preoccupied with her mission; despite its difficulty, she was determined to give it her all.
