Ronan POV
The forces of life are a mystery that is learned and used daily.
Being unprepared for the forces can cause significant damage and tragedy like it happened to me years ago when I lost everything.
Funny how your life could be going so good till
It wasn't; that was the worst kind of hurt anyone would face cause it's unexpected and leaves a dark, deep hole in your chest.
A hole that was impossible to fill out until she came along.
Seraphina Blackwood.
My light and Doom.
She had come into my life like any other person would, but one close look at her and I was immediately transfixed.
I didn't know if it was her beautiful green eyes, or her intoxicating rose scent, or how dark her hair was, or even her voice, her damn voice…
Well, whatever it is, it got me hooked in a way that made me never want to get fixed.
At first, I tried pushing the feelings away and staying far away from her cause I was afraid she would leave like everyone I have ever loved.
But when Ciaran started getting close to her, It awakened dark feelings that I thought I had buried long ago, and soon, I had to separate them both,
Though that took a while since Ciaran wouldn't leave her unless I had something to threaten him with,
Something precious.
Once I got it, I had him moving the opposite direction away from her.
And now I have her all to myself, all mine.
She doesn't know it yet, but she is Mine.
I sat in the classroom listening to the politics teacher, Mr Mateo, talk about the importance of being a good leader.
Half of me was zoned out in what he said because I knew everything he taught. The other half was because I couldn't stop thinking about a certain green eye-brunette.
Who turned out to be the most exciting thing that had ever existed.
The bell chimed, indicating that the class was over. Thankfully, I could go see her.
Not that I couldn't ditch the class, but lately, I am being watched by my parents cause a certain someone had to run her mouth about how I was chasing a human-werewolf freak.
My jaw tightened,
Janet.
I wished I could rip her throat out, but then again, that would ruin all the plans that my parents had made on my behalf.
I would have to find a way around it, a way to punish her, first for daring to bully my girl and second for running her bloody mouth.
Since the class was over, I immediately went to find Seraphina. I checked her classes, but she wasn't in them; I was about to head to her dormitory when I perceived the atmosphere of the hallways; it seemed tense.
Fear in some people's eyes, while some were shedding tears, and others were in disbelief.
As though something terrible had really happened.
Seraphina.
Is she okay? I last saw her in the morning, and now this?
My panic clock went high as I checked the hallways for any signs of her.
"Everyone, get to your dormitory now." Ms Alda, the literature teacher, shouted, disrupting my panicked search.
The students did as she said.
If she sent everyone in, it must mean something was wrong.
I walked up to her.
"Mr stormbane, shouldn't you be heading inside too?"
"What is going on?"
She rolled her eyes as she walked away; I followed her, "Whatever it is, it's none of your business, get back inside."
"It's damn right my business cause I make it, so tell me."
She stops in her tracks, turning to face me; her brows are knitted in anger. "Mr stormbane. I'll have you know this is no way to talk to your teacher?"
"I'm simply demanding answers. Something is obviously wrong, and As the member of the academy student council, I have every right to know."
She rolled her eyes, "whatever, it's not like i would be the one in trouble, if you are so curious then come along and see for your self."
I did as she said, and we got to the school infirmary, where a prominent stench hit my nose,
A familiar one.
The stench of death.
We entered the infirmary, and three students lay on the floor dead, all with severe injuries on their bodies.
The principal and all the other teachers were gathered around the body; they appeared to be discussing something but stopped immediately when they noticed our presence.
"Why is he here?" Principal Lena asked.
"He refused to go inside." Ms Alda says.
"I believe i deserve to know what is going on."
"No you don't, this is teachers business. Leave." Mr Leo, the art curator teacher, said.
"My colleagues are dead and lying on the floor, meaning there's either a danger in the school, or you all did this yourself, whichever the case, I know my parents wouldn't take likely to finding out about it, I suggest you start explaining."
"The nerves of this kid, he threatens us." They murmur amongst themselves.
"Very well, but your staying here means you'll keep your mouth shut, or we shall have no problem in locking you up." Lena chipped in,
I knew it was an empty threat cause my parents would notice my absence immediately. The school would shut down, but I didn't wish to make matters worse, and I was just glad I was being let stay back.
So, I nodded my head in agreement.
They turned back to the dead bodies, totally ignoring me.
"As I was saying the marks here doesn't indicate whether it's a wolf or a vamp, it feels as though it was the both, cause both the vamp gang bite and the wolf claws are all deeply rooted in their bodies."
"Are you saying two separate creatures caused this." Lena asked
"No it's definitely one, maybe a hybrid." Mr Leo responded.
"That doesn't make sense hybrid don't exist."
"If a lobizona can exist then why can't a half werewolf and half vamp exist too?" Ms Riven, the magic teacher, asked.
"It's ridiculous, and a stain against nature's code, if it existed it would have been maimed by the heavens before it caused chaos."
"Can't you just find another conclusion?" Lena chipped, looking beyond frustrated.
"I would have to study the bodies for a while."
"This is so sad, these kids had barely had the chance to live, and they were wrongly killed, oh goddess why has your wrath befallen on us." Ms. Riven lamented,
"What would we tell their parents? Most of them have rich and powerful parents, the school could get shut down when they learn on the truth! Oh dear,"
"The school isn't getting shut, and no one is revealing this, we would make excuses for the dead students to their parents, till we find whoever could be causing these havoc, until then make sure to keep all students out of the forest, I don't know why they keep wandering there, especially after the warning of how dangerous it is."
"I beg your pardon Ms, but sixteen children are already dead, and it's getting harder to keep these from their parents, they can't all be going for camp trip, we have to speak up, so we can get help from the palace." Ms Alda chipped in.
Principal Lena had her brows knitted in anger.
"None of that would be happening, the palace may help, but we would all be beheaded for failing to protect the kids, you know how crazed the king can get, so that isn't an option, we would deal with it." Principal Lena didn't seem confident, though; her voice sounded strained.
"How?"
There was a silence.
"Great, you don't even have a plan, wow, how long before it is our bodies that is lying on the damned flooor!" Mr Leo raised his voice.
"Show some respect, I'm still your leader."
He rolled his eyes.
It seemed the teachers were in a considerable dilemma,
"All this must be because of that darn human freak, ever since she came the attacks had increased, what if she is the one causing this?"
I opened my mouth to immediately defend Sera, but Lena beat me to it.
"That is outrageous, she can't take down two vamp and a witch on her own, she can't take down any of these students, she's weak and can barely harness her powers, so how would she cause their death, plus the vamp fang bites indicate that a vampire was involved and last I checked she isn't one."
"These are all theories, you don't know it for fact, she could be hiding her true powers, so she wouldn't be suspected, and as for the vamp fang bite, it could be that ciaran could be involved, it's not like it's the first time he got involved in such."
"Mr Leo! You are also a vamp. So How dare you lay such accusations to your prince like that?" Ms Alda asked.
He grew quiet, though he looked as though he wished to say more,
"Enough of all this fighting won't solve anything, Ms Riven, I am going to need you to perform a ritual for a vison, and to also make protection bracelets for the students, you can get the students witches involved."
"Yes Ms Lena."
"Leo and Mr Mateo would teach the vamp students how to defend their selves against evil."
"And I and Ms Alda shall also lecture the wolves."
They all chorused their agreement.
"And oh. Ronan, lips sealed."
I nodded,
They were still discussing other issues when I scrambled off,
I had to find Seraphina and warn her to stay out of trouble.
Or better yet, protect her myself,
The teachers are paranoid and scared and are looking for who to blame,
Seraphina is the perfect candidate for the blame cause not only is she hated by everyone, but her coming into the academy was what started the deaths.
And worse, I had caught her in the woods on the night before the first student death occurred,
I swallowed hard.
I'm sure there's a viable explanation; I know she isn't a killer.
And if she is, I'm sure it's all explainable; there is a good reason.
Like that night when everyone died in my pack.
I need to find her and ask her.
I searched the school for her and went to her room, but she wasn't there. I checked the cafeteria, the lounge area, the art curator class, and the gym class.
The more I checked, the more paranoid I felt,
Something couldn't have happened to her. Right?
I mean, she wasn't part of the students who lay dead in the infirmary,
Then where was she?!
Fear enveloped me. I couldn't lose her,
No way. I had just discovered her, and it was way too soon.
Life wouldn't be that cruel to take her away from me.
Right?
I was still perambulating the school grounds When I remembered how she talked about the school garden and how she loved the solitude of the place,
It's the last place I still needed to check.
Maybe she'll be there.
I rushed to the garden and was greeted with the shock of my life on getting there.
Seraphina was pinned to a wall by Ciaran; he held her waist…
He was kissing her!
