Mother, Still Urging
I paced back and forth in my study, my mind still reeling from the events of the past few days. My mother, Luna Freya, sat on the couch, her piercing gaze fixed on me.
"Eric, you've waited long enough," she said, her voice firm but laced with concern. "You need to find that girl, Ella and bring her back to the pack." I had she's a good girl. You can see how some pack members are reacting to Jenna's being your mate.
I stopped pacing and turned to face her. "Mother, I understand your eagerness, but I need time to think. Ella's not just any woman; you had the rumour right"
Luna Freya's expression softened. "That's exactly why you should go after her. She is the the future Luna of our pack. You can't let her slip away." She said.
I sighed, feeling the weight of responsibility. My mother was right, but I was afraid of facing Ella again. What if she rejected me? What if she didn't want me to be a part of her life?
"Mother, what if she doesn't want me?" I asked, voicing my concerns. Luna Freya stood up and walked towards me. "Eric, you're an Alpha. You can't let fear hold you back. You need to claim what's yours and provide for your family.
Go to her wherever she is, apologize for your mistakes, and show her you're committed." Her words struck a chord within me. I knew she was right. I needed to take action.
"Okay, Mother. I'll go to her," I said, determination coursing through my veins.
Luna Freya smiled, a hint of satisfaction in her eyes.
"I knew you'd see things my way. Now, go! Bring Ella back to where she belong." With a newfound sense of purpose, I set out to find Ella.
Tracking Ella
I stood outside my mother's mansion, taking a deep breath of the evening air. My mission was clear: find Ella and bring her back to the pack.
But where to start?
I pulled out my phone and dialed a number. "Ryker, it's Eric. I need your help."
Ryker, my pack's Beta and closest friend, answered on the first ring. "What's up, Eric?"
"I need you to track down Ella. She's the woman I...met at the bar, we had a night stand, I'd a feeling that she might be somewhere hiding"
Ryker's tone turned serious. "The one you told me about, at the birthday party?" "Yes. I need to find her, might have suffered from the night we meet, maybe running away because of something that has to do with me."
"Consider it done. But Eric, what's going on? You've been tight-lipped about this whole thing."
"I'll fill you in later. Just find her." Ryker hesitated for a moment before responding.
"Alright, I'll get our best trackers on it. But Eric, be prepared for anything."
I ended the call and slid into my car, my mind racing with possibilities. Where is Ella?
Was she safe? Did she still think I was just a call boy?
As I drove, my thoughts drifted back to our night together. The way she smiled, the way her eyes sparkled...I couldn't shake the feeling that she was meant to be mine.
My phone buzzed, breaking my reverie. Ryker's text flashed on the screen: "Found her. She's in Chicago, but Eric, she's not alone."
My heart skipped a beat. Who was with her? Was it another man? I floored the accelerator, Chicago bound?
Ryker's POV
Eric sent me to Chicago, when we arrived, I senses on high alert. My discovery of Lily, and Ella wasn't alone, but I hadn't provided details.
I needed to see her, to know she where she lives.
I pulled up to the address my tracker provided, a sleek high-rise building in the heart of the city. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what lay ahead.
As I entered the lobby, I spotted Ella walking towards the elevator. My heart stopped. She looked stunning, her hair styled differently, her eyes shining with a newfound confidence.
But what caught my attention was the man beside her, tall, dark-haired, and smiling at her. Her new boyfriend or a relative?
My instincts flared. Who is this guy? Ella's eyes met mine, but she doesn't know me as the beta of Eric's pack and for a moment, time froze. I was surprise, then wariness, crossed my face from her.
"Are you looking for someone? She asked me, her voice barely audible. The man beside her turned, his eyes narrowing. "Can I help you?"
I took a step forward, my tracking instincts on full display. "I'm here for a job."
Ella's eyes darted between us, a mixture of fear and uncertainty.
This face looks familiar,
"Man, what are you doing here?" She asked.
I took another step closer, my voice low. "We need to talk."
Look man, you need to leave this place, I recognized this face from London. She said. Who sent you? This is a public place Ella, can you stop? I yelled.
Stop you say! Leave now before I call the law enforcement agencies on you. With that, I have no option. I left the mansion without a word.
"I saw her my Alpha," but the situation is intense, I could hold it. I told Eric on phone. That's nice, come home Ryker, let's figure out what to do next.
"Yes my Alpha."
