As Evileye flew gracefully above the sky, Lily surfed through the clouds using an invisible platform. They soar above the sky of the capital and flew through the Flames surrounding the palace. "So, Lily san, what do you know about this invasion?"
"Demon Empire Jaldabaoth," Lily replied. "He's a cunning and stupidly powerful demon. His power is comparable to that of Momon but still below Sally and Ainz sama," she sighed a little. "Still, his armies of demons are no joke, I… Goddammit, what are they doing here?"
"You know their motive?" Evileye asked.
Lily gave the vampire a sheepish look. "I kinda slept through the meeting," she twirled a little to dodge a smack from the vampire. "It's a magic item, okay? Magic item. Jaldabaoth is looking for a magic item and Ainz sama thought he'll be raiding Fluder Paradyne's place, you know him right?"
"I've heard of him, yes," Evileye replied. "Then, what should we do? Should we call Ainz sama somehow?"
"That's impossible, Ainz sama sealed all access in and out of the Empire so that he can finish Jaldabaoth once and for all," Lily groaned and put her hands over her face. "Goddammit, we gotta fight Jaldabaoth and his demon maids head on."
"Demon maids?"
"Special demon maids that literally has no freewill, six of them actually, each one fitted with all sorts of magic items. They are bound to their master. Ainz sama also thought of this as a chance to acquire them," Lily explained. "Look, let's just think, who do you think has a magical artifact Jaldabaoth could possibly be interested in?"
Evileye looked down in deep thought. The Magic Guild? No. The Royal Palace? Perhaps. The Underground Market?
It was then that Evileye realized that she's floating above Gagaran and Tia's raid point. There she saw them fighting against a strange girl wearing maid uniform. "Lily!" Evileye exclaimed.
Lily did a one eighty spin and looked at the battle below her. She noticed who that demon is and shuddered. "Damn it's that one," she shuddered a little. "I can't help you with this one Senpai, sorry," she muttered.
"Is she really that powerful?" Evileye asked.
"She's an insect demon."
Evileye remembered one of the warning Sally gave to her about Lily. 'She's deathly afraid of insect,'. "I see, there's no helping it huh?"
"I'll go look for Momon, buy time as long as you can," she said.
Evileye nodded grimly. "You think I can win against her?"
"You're both around level 50,"
"50?"
"I use another danger system. Level 50 is around 150 rating."
"Any advice to win against her?"
Lily looked down in deep thought. "If I'm not wrong, the maid demons have fanatical and downright insane love and adoration for their master. You can use that to play their emotion," she explained.
"I see… What about Jaldabaoth?"
"Talk to him."
"Talk?"
"He's a… proper demon, for the lack of better words," Lily said. "You can't talk him down, but you might be able to get him into an idle chat long enough for nii chan to arrive. If Jaldabaoth attacks, just focus on defensive, you can't hurt him," she then turned around and waved her hand. "I'll go get Momon here immediately."
Evileye watched as Lily sped away into the distance. A throbbing sensation appeared in her chest as she thought about the upcoming battle with the dark hero. "Alright, focus," she muttered to herself before flying down towards the battle.
The maid demon is walking towards downed Tia. "[Crystal Lance]!" she exclaimed and shot out a crystal lance straight at the demon. It dodged the lance, but the lance served its purpose.
"Is that a spell?" the maid asked.
Evileye floated on top of her lance and gazed upon the maid demon.
"Indeed. This is a 4th-tier arcane spell, [Crystal Lance]," she said, hoping that it's enough to at least scare the demon maid. If Lily is right and the demon maid is an insect demon, she has a trump card up her sleeves. "That's enough from you for now."
"...From who? I can still let you off now, so could you please leave? Children's meat is tender and I like it very much, but the portions are just too small. I'll play with you after I've eaten the two of them."
"I see, so you're a man-eater. And you're dressed up like a maid, are you kidding me? What kind of stupid idiot is your master anyway?"
A torrent of killing intent shot out of the demon maid. "WHaT dId YoU saY, YOu LItTLe bITcH?!" her voice no longer that of a child but that of a monster.
'Wow, Lily wasn't kidding…' Evileye thought in amusement. 'Now let's see if I can make her even more mad…'
"I'lL kILl You!"
The demon maid vibrates as bloodlust poured out of her very being.
"Evileye!" Tia called out.
Evileye looked at the ninja girl. "I was wondering what you were trying to do… ahhh, honestly. Lesson One; always consider the relative strength and weakness of yourself and your opponent. She's stronger than you… and weaker than me."
Evileye swept her arm and set her cape aflutter, and then she shouted:
"Listen, bullying the weak is Cowardice! You are a coward!"
the maid looked like she's about to explode in anger.
"But you know who's an even bigger coward than you!? that's right, your master! Your master is a demon of COWARDICE!!! He must be SCARED to show himself! He must be so WEAK that's why he has something as UGLY and HORRIBLE as you attending him!!!"
'Did that do it?'
Then, the maid's face fell off. It looked like the skin had been peeled off her face, but that was not the case. The back of the face which had fallen onto the ground was covered in insectile legs.
"Shorty, I think you just pissed her off," Gagaran said, standing up beside her. "Like, really, really pissed her off."
"That was the plan," Evileye replied as a leech-like creature dropped out of the demon's throat. "Disgusting…" she muttered.
"You pissed her off because you have a plan don't you?" Tia asked.
"YoU dARe… YOu DarE…" That voice was cold, stiff and difficult to understand.
"Now that's a cute voice. I prefer it when you sound like that!" Gagaran said, glaring at the creature.
"Pu, puUuNy hUmANsSs!"
"Alright, I pissed her off… Now what…" Evileye said to herself.
Tia heard this however, and looked at Evileye in disbelief. "I thought you have a plan!?"
"Yeah, a plan to piss her off,"
The insect maid's back swelled up, and four long legs — like those of a spider — sprouted from under her clothes. It looked like she was wearing insect legs as a backpack.
She used the legs she had sprouted to leap forward. It was so startling that one might think she had used a flying spell.
A swarm of man eating bugs flew out of the insect's mouth but Evileye just raised her hand. "[Verminbane]," and a gas of insecticide killed the swarms. "See? I do have a plan," she said.
"What on earth was that spell?"
"It's an insect-killing spell, [Verminbane]. There was an insectile Demon God among the Demon Gods 200 years ago. So I invented this spell to wipe out the insects it summoned. Ah, well, it's something like a unique creation."
"Oi! Will this spell harm us?"
"It won't. It's especially effective against vermin, but it's non-toxic towards other living creatures."
Evileye smirked under her mask. 'This ought to be easy,' she thought to herself. 'And when Momon gets here, he will see my true strength and appreciate what I did…' she giggled under her breath before sidestepping an attack from her enemy.
"[Crystal Lance]!" crystal cavalry saber shot out of a magic circle and struck the insect hard. Though it didn't seem to harm it. As the insect spews out more swarms of man eating flies.
"[Verminbane]," the swarms dropped dead in a matter of seconds. Then, the warrior woman charged in towards the insect and struck it with her hammer. But the insect dodged the strike and shot out a mouthful of spider silk.
The sticky and resilient silk was difficult to break even for Gagaran's arm-strength. She stopped her attack and stumbled backwards. Instead, the monster stepped forward.
"[Crystal Lance]!"
It hit the demon and penetrated deep into her body, but it did not seem to hurt her at all. Worse, she seemed strong enough to summon more insects from the night, causing her left arm to swell up.
"[Verminbane]!"
The white vapors caused the insects swarming on Entoma's left arm to fall off, and the monster moaned in pain.
The portion of her body that corresponded to a human's jaw turned to face Evileye, and it spewed a stream of silk at her, the same as what it had spat at Gagaran.
Defending with magic would be a waste of mana. I'm immune to binding anyway, so I should just take — no!
Evileye hurriedly cast a spell. It was true that Entoma had spat silk at her, but the light from its strands was colder and harder than what she had hit Gagaran with.
"[Crystal Barrier]!"
The crystal wall before her eyes was cut to pieces and vanished before her eyes.
"That thing must've hate me so much huh?"
"Ya think?" Tia retorted before throwing a black net. The net just went straight through the demon like an illusion. "To think she's completely immune to movement restriction!"
'Alright, this is not going to be as easy as I thought, I just hope I can finish her off before Momon comes here…'
"Cheh! Time out!"
Gagaran's indignant retort was accompanied by a kick at the maid, who was seeking to close into melee combat. That kick was also intended to create some space between them.
The startling thing was that when the greave made contact with the maid uniform, there was a sound of metallic collision.
Gagaran backed off, and the other two members of Blue Rose kept their distance from the maid, forming up while staying wary of area attacks.
"POkiNg hERe anD PoKInG theRE… wHaT a PAiN!"
"Did you hear that? That maid uniform's as hard as my weapon, what a joke."
"It's woven from a very hard metal. Given its thickness, I'd say her clothes are much harder than your weapon."
"Adamantite… no, that's not it."
"This is a maid demon. There are actually six of them," Evileye explained. "Their uniforms are made along with their creation. They're also fitted with all sorts of magic items and the likes since their creation. She'll kill us all before we can find her weakness and even then we probably wouldn't be able to do much…"
"Which means?"
In response to Tia's question, Evileye smiled thinly under her mask.
"We need to attack head on and hit her with everything we have to drain her health."
"Easier said than done. What should we do? If we don't hurry up, she's going to finish powering herself up with her talismans."
"We'll just use our strongest moves. For me, it'll be [Verminbane]."
"...Sounds simple enough. Alright, let's finish this."
However, depleting the health of one's foe with high firepower was not as simple as it sounded.
