Chapter 15 - "The Timer's set, Momonga onii chan!"

"Are you sure about this?" Sally asked.

"It's fine, it's fine," Aura said with her arms behind her head. "Fenny is a good boy, he's not going to hurt you," she said.

Sally gulped nervously. A natural response when standing on the chomping distance of a level ninety something summon. She looked at the beast's glowing red eyes and its black mane. She couldn't feel any hostility coming from the mighty summon, but still…

The human girl looked at the oversized stick in her hands. It's easily twice her size and it's only thanks to her status as level one hundred human that she's even capable of holding that stick.

"What are we doing exactly, Aura sama?" Sally asked.

"I believe this is called Fetch," Aura replied. "I've heard that this is a game played by the supreme beings with their pet to train their speed and tracking skills," she pointed at the gigantic stick. "The point of this exercise is to throw this stick as far and as fast as you can and the summon will fetch the exact same stick."

Sally took a deep breath and grabbed the gigantic stick with both hands. "Alright, here goes…" the girl bent her knees for and shot out to the sky like a rocket. She spun in midair and throw the stick deep into the jungle of the Sixth Floor before landing back beside Aura.

Fenrir has already bounded into the forest. No doubt that it's going to find the stick.

"Good throw Shalltear chan!" Aura exclaimed. "I wonder if Fenrir can find the right stick…"

"Couldn't he just follow my scent?" Sally asked.

"I suppose he can do that, we'll just have to wait and see," Aura said.

After a few minutes the sound of footsteps came from within the forest. Fenrir burst out of the forest carrying the stick Sally has thrown earlier. The giant wolf put down the stick right in front of Sally and start panting happily.

"Now what?" Sally asked.

"He wants you to throw it again," Aura replied.

Same as before, Sally throw the stick with all her might and simply watched as the wolf disappeared into the jungle. She landed beside Aura and took a some quick breaths. "How are you keep doing this?" Sally asked.

"Do what?"

"Breathing, it's…" Sally took a deep breath to calm herself. "Tiring, why do you breathe anyway?"

"Sally, you're breathing hard because you're tired. Not the other way around," Aura pointed.

"I'm tired?" Sally looked at her body. "Well… I guess it's expected of this body…" she looked back at Aura. "Should I rest now?"

Aura nodded a little. "Yeah, we can rest for a while and…" her words faltered when she realized something crucial. "AH! I forgot! I'm supposed to help Mare with the fake Nazarick!!!" she paced around anxiously before putting both hands over her heads. "Ainz-sama gonna murder me…"

"Should I open a gate to the construction site?" Sally asked.

"You can do that?"

"Yes, I can still use all my magic," Sally said while opening a [gate] straight to the construction site. There, they saw an Elder Lich constructing some Golems. The Lich noticed Aura running from the gate and bowed at her presence.

"Lady Au-"

"Forget that, where's Mare?" Aura asked.

"Lord Mare waiting for you in the base camp," the Lich gestured towards a small clearing a distance away from them.

Aura was about to rush there when he realized that Sally wasn't following her. "Shalltear, come, you gotta help me," she ran back to the gate and grabbed Sally by her arm. "Come on!"

"Aura sama!" Sally yelped in surprise when the elf started dragging her through the woods.

They kept running and running until they finally found her. It was Mare, sitting on a large blanket draped on the clearing. Sitting beside him is the Staff of Paradox in her human form. Right now, the two of them are eating some food made by Pestonya.

"Mare, oh, you're still on a break," Aura said in relief. Then she looked back and saw Sally barely keeping up with her. "I swear, you're really turning into a second Mare…" she told Sally who stopped to catch her breath when she's right beside her.

"A-Aura, Shalltear…" Mare lowered his head nervously. "P-please sit down," he said while patting the spot beside him. "Paradox sama has something to say to the two of you."

Aura and Sally sat down beside Mare. Then they looked at the little girl who's currently stuffing her face full of sandwich. She didn't seem to care about their presence until she finished a bottle of Cola and smiled in relief.

"Ahh… That was really good," Paradox rubbed her stomach a little before looking at Aura, tilting her head as she did so. "You're four hours late," she told her.

Aura froze a little after hearing that. "F-four hours?"

Paradox nodded a little. "Yeah, Ainz sama came here a while ago looking for you, but you weren't here."

Aura's face lost all her colors. "Am I… Am I in trouble?" she whispered like scared little girl.

"No, he already expected this, thus the reason of his visit," Paradox took out a bracelet of some sort from her pocket. "This is an item given to Ainz sama from your creator, Bukubukuchagama," she said.

The elf's eyes widened after hearing that. The simple bracelet became something akin to a World Item in her eyes. "Bukubukuchagama…" her hand reached out to grab it but she held herself back. "I-I can't…"

"This is wristband that can tell the time," Paradox explained. She showed her the numbers written on it. "You can also set alarm with it that has Bukubukuchagama's prerecorded voice in it," she added.

Aura has never wanted something this badly in her whole life. An item created by her creator, with her angelic voice recorded inside it, what else can she ask for?

"You want it?" Paradox teased.

Aura couldn't even muster the will to be angry at her teasing.

"You're four hours late don't you? Then you will be four hours late in receiving it either," the girl pressed something on the watch. "Let's see…"

"The Timer's set, Momonga onii chan!" a cute girly voice appeared from the pocket watch.

"Bukubukuchagama!" Both Aura and Mare exclaimed at the voice.

Paradox chuckled a little and handed the watch to Mare. The elf looked at Paradox in surprise. "Eh? Isn't this supposed to be Aura's?"

"Give it to Aura once the timer's over," Paradox said while slowly forcing Mare to wear the watch. "Treat this as a compensation for forcing you to work four hours later," she said with a cruel grin on her face.

Mare gulped a little and looked a at the wristwatch in his hand like it's the most beautiful thing in the world. "Thank you so much, Paradox sama…"

"Just promise me you'll give it to her once the timer is over."

"I-I promise."

"Great!" Paradox stretched her arms a little. "Ahh, well, next on my list is…" she looked at Sally who's just sitting there silently. "Oi, Sally, come closer, let's talk for a bit," she said.

Sally stood up from her position, walked towards Paradox, and sit down beside her. "How may help you, Paradox sama?"

"Call me Lily, Paradox a bit mouthful and not as cute, you know?" Lily replied.

"As you wish, Lily sama,"

Lily looked at her closely before taking her hand. "[Light Drain]," she said and Sally could feel the girl sapping away her mana a little. "Oh, looks like you've learned your lesson," Lily said as a proud smile formed on her face. Then she looked at Aura who's currently staring at the watch in Mare's hand.

"Aura chan, you've been spending a lot of time Sally here haven't you?" she asked.

Aura froze and looked at Lily. "Yes, I uhh… I'm just hanging out with her."

"Thank you, don't worry, Ainz sama will be very glad to hear that,"

Aura was very happy to hear that. She has already heard from Mare about Lily's power and how she currently has all the wisdom and memory of the Supreme Being. Her words are almost as good as his. "Thank you, Paradox sama."

"For the love of Ainz, call me Lily," Lily said in annoyance. "And in all Ainz's infinite wisdom, this is an experiment on Ainz sama's part," everyone looked at Lily in confusion. "It is an experiment to see if you can grow beyond what you were created for."

Lily pointed at Aura. "Do you remember your first day in the new world when Ainz sama visited the sixth floor? You showed your displeasure at the mention of Shalltear going to meet you. Then, when you do meet, the first thing you both do are comparing each other's nonexistent breast."

Both Aura and Sally looked down in embarrassment after hearing that. They realized that what they did was nothing short of childish.

"Now, you two have grown beyond that childish squabble. I especially love that part where you asked Lupu of all people to give Sally a time off," Lily put a hand over her temple and sighed a little. "Though, next time, ask someone else. I'm sure Yuri wouldn't mind, that werewolf has a job to do dammit…"

"Well, now it's time for the next experiment," she turned towards towards Sally. "Do you remember Brain Unglaus?"

Sally froze at the mention at that name. "Yes, he's… he's the Martial Arts user I'm supposed to capture but…" she looked down in shame. "But I was reckless and toyed with enemy thus compromising my mission."

"If I tell you that you get to have a second chance, will you take it?"

"Second chance?"

"A second chance to bring Brain to Nazarick,"

"You know where he is?" Sally asked, her gaze hardens and her posture turned rigid. "I will capture him immediately!"

Lily chuckled a little after hearing that. "Unfortunately it's not going to be that easy. You are not going to force Brain into joining our ranks. You are going to talk and persuade him into going with us to Nazarick."

"Talk to him?" Sally shuddered a little at the thought. She's always all about kill first, talk later, but now. "I will… I will try my best…" Yes, she'll do anything to take the second chance given to her by the Supreme Being.

"You ready? Because we're going to start immediately," Lily opened a gate right behind them that lead just outside Re-Estize. "By the way, you will talk to him without revealing our cover," she added the two of us walked into the kingdom.

"Cover?"

"I'm Lily, Momon's adoptive sister. You're Sally, Momon's biological sister who was turned into a vampire by a powerful vampire called Honyopopenyoko decades ago. You and Momon were saved by a benevolent Magic Caster, Ainz Ooal Gown. Got that?"

Sally blinked owlishly after hearing that.

"Oh and Solution is Momon's distant relative who is also a noble and Sebas is Solution's butler. Nabe or Narberal is my biological sister," Lily added. "The story is that your attack on Brain Unglaus is intentional on Momon's part because your attack is also towards mercenary group. In other words, you got the moral high grounds.

"I think… I think I got it…" Sally said, trying to keep up with all the details.

"Don't worry, I will give you non stop instruction like this,"

"I see, thank you Lily sama,"

"You're acting as my older sister and I'm acting like troublesome little sister. Call me Lily or even Stupid Lily. Seriously."
