At noon, the sun shone brightly.
Senator Kelly was delivering an inspiring speech to the crowd, as he often did. He spoke primarily about the dangers posed by mutants and his proposed solutions to the "mutant problem." As his rhetoric intensified, public support for him grew. His words became increasingly fiery; he openly declared that mutants were abominations who should be confined in zoos for human scientists to study.
Today's speech was a success. The audience fervently shouted slogans and held up signs demanding that mutants "get lost" or "go to the Moon."
Senator Kelly waved to the excited crowd, feeling triumphant, and stepped down from the stage amidst cheers.
After getting into his car, it began to move slowly. He needed to head to his private helicopter for another speech in a different location.
Seated next to him was his bodyguard, and Kelly took out his phone to call another senator.
"Senator, do you support gun registration? The threat from mutant children is far greater than that of guns… It's no different! Schools are filled with danger. Alright, sounds good!"
After hanging up, the bodyguard asked, "How did it go?"
Kelly replied, frustrated, "There's a significant divide; many senators disagree with my views."
"The global summit is about to begin. Is the President ready with his speech? What stance will he take?" the bodyguard asked with a smile looking at Kelly.
Kelly scoffed, "That guy waffles on mutant issues; he probably doesn't even know what he's going to say…"
As he spoke, he suddenly felt dizzy and closed his eyes, fainting.
The bodyguard pulled a syringe from his pocket, inserted it into Kelly's vein, and pushed the green liquid into his system.
He then patted Kelly's face, saying, "Good luck, Senator! Hehe!"
With a slight smile, he opened the car door and effortlessly stepped out while the car sped along, blending into the bustling crowd. He moved to a secluded corner and transformed into the shape of a character known as Mystique.
He had fused Mystique's shapeshifting genes into himself but unlike her, he didn't have unattractive blue scales as he had worked for days to eliminate them.
Ye Hai smiled, "The mission was perfectly executed; I really look forward to seeing Kelly's future performance."
Afterward, he stepped out onto a busier street, merging with the crowd.
Kelly's car arrived at a plaza where a helicopter was parked. The pilot, seeing Kelly, immediately started the rotor blades, which whirred loudly as they spun, stirring up gusts of wind.
The driver got out and opened the back door, gently nudging the still unconscious Kelly, "Senator, Senator?"
"Huh?" Kelly moaned, feeling pain all over. "What happened? Why does my body hurt so much? Did we crash?"
The driver looked taken aback but patiently reassured him, "Don't worry, Senator; there was no accident. We've arrived at the helicopter. Do you want to go onboard or go to the hospital?"
