Kelly shook his head, "I don't know why I'm in pain, but I can endure it. I need to make it to my next speech; I can't keep them waiting."
"You're truly dedicated, Senator!" the driver flattered.
Struggling, Kelly exited the car and looked around, confused. "Where did my bodyguard go?"
The driver seemed puzzled as well, "He was just in the car; how could he vanish like that?"
"Forget him; he probably went to the restroom," Kelly said, heading straight for the helicopter. After sitting down, he complained, "It really hurts—what's going on? Why is this happening? Am I experiencing a medical crisis?"
Worried about his health, but still committed to his political duties, he didn't want to miss out on the speaking opportunity.
"I'm sure it will be fine," he reassured himself.
As the helicopter gradually took off and flew towards the ocean, his assistant Henry sat across from him, frowning as if noticing something was off with Kelly.
After some time, Kelly looked out the window and asked, "Where are we going?"
Just as he finished speaking, Henry smirked slightly. Suddenly, her body rippled like waves and slowly transformed into a blue-scaled mutant woman—none other than the infamous Mystique.
Kelly gasped, standing up in shock, "Pilot!"
Mystique grinned at him and kicked him, causing him to slip away like water, narrowly avoiding the blow.
Kelly lunged at her, but she kicked him again, sending him crashing against the door. Instead of making a sound, he transformed into a puddle of water, slipping through the door and into the vast ocean, disappearing without a trace.
Mystique stared in disbelief and, after a long pause, muttered, "So he's a mutant too. Then why should mutants make it hard for other mutants?"
Marvel Scientist Becomes God, Ch 46
"This is Cyclops's blood," Jean said, handing over a glass vial filled with blood. "Dr. Ye, are you really able to allow Cyclops to control the use of his laser without the visor? You should know that we have been studying this issue for decades."
Ye Hai smirked. "Oh really? Jean, you've been in my lab for a week now. The experimental data I've collected should keep you busy for years. Do you really think someone as efficient as me can't solve the Cyclops problem?"
Ye Hai took the vial, shook it a little, and then he heard the system's voice.
"Ding: Mission activated: Perfectly fuse the laser genes of Cyclops with normal cells. Mission duration: two months. Completion reward: 10,000 scientific points. Penalty for failure: deduct 5,000 scientific points."
