Agares was utterly unprepared when Julius stepped into the storage room; "taken aback" didn't even begin to cover it. He felt a visceral jolt deep in his core as the determination on Julius's face filled him with dread. He genuinely believed Julius was about to confess his feelings.
This is it, he thought. Julius would tell him he liked him, and whatever they had would be over. Annoyance crept in as he watched Julius approach, despite his insistence that he leave. Did Julius really not understand the turmoil he was causing? Agares didn't want to hear anything he had to say. Yet, Julius stood his ground, surprising Agares by refusing to back down despite his coldness.
