CHARLOTTE walked into Wesley's study, a tray of coffee and pastries in her hands. She had been feeling an uneasiness all morning, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what it was. She had been trying to avoid Wesley all day, but she knew she couldn't put it off forever.
As she set the tray down on the desk, Wesley looked up from the book he was reading. "Ah, perfect timing," he said, smiling. "I was just getting to the good part."
Charlotte smiled back, trying to hide her nerves. "What's the book about?" she asked, curiosity getting the better of her.
Wesley leaned back in his chair, a look of enthusiasm on his face. "It's about a man who travels back in time and tries to change the course of history," he said. "It's fascinating stuff."
