My 5 minutes in the tiny room didn't last long. Avery softly pushed open the door. I kicked my shoes off of my feet, and pulled my legs underneath me.
"Celine?" he whispered.
As upset as I was, I'd never be too upset for him.
"Come in," I replied.
He shut the door quietly, and darkness enveloped me again. I felt the bed give under Avery's weight as he sat down beside me.
"Are you okay?" The concern in his voice had me hating myself for how I've reacted once again. I nibbled on my lips, unsure of how I could even begin to tell him what was going on or if I should even tell him at all.
I sighed, the words unable to come to me.
I felt his hand clasp my shoulder. And that was all it took for the dam to break. Tears spilled from my eyes as I wrapped my arms around my baby brother.
