Alice stared at the envelope and then she blinked.
Ah, she almost forgot about her money. And there was something else she had forgotten.
Not that she would've been able to do anything if she had even kept it at the back of her mind.
She tore her gaze from the envelope, dropped her spoon on the table, and picked up the bowl of hot soup, drinking it directly out of the bowl, throwing out all forms of table manners.
Mark watched her, wondering why she was in a hurry. Well, she was always in a hurry to finish her meal without a reason, but this time, it felt like she was actually in a hurry for something.
"Thanks for the meal." She said and got up. "I'll be heading out first."
Mark caught her arm, stopping her in her tracks.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
"Ah, nowhere." She said, and with a smile too, but that only made him believe she was lying.
She wasn't going 'nowhere'. Where was she going in such a hurry?
