Alice and Mark got into the car that had been prepared for their transportation.
It was a comfortable car and it was probably the first time Alice was entering one. The only cars she had ever got into all her life were, first, the taxis she took with her mom as a kid.
They were taking a taxi ride to a destination her mother refused to disclose. She said something about it being a surprise.
But then the gates appeared and everywhere broke.
Then, there was the truck that transported homeless kids like her, after the apocalypse broke out, taking them out to be sold.
Kids like her, folded up and cried as they had just lost their parents and had no one to console them.
She was one of them. A naive, stupid crying kid who couldn't stop asking to go home.
As if she even had a home to return to.
Then, she was tied up and placed in the trunk of a car for a five-hour trip. It was hot, suffocating and uncomfortable.
