Chapter 10 - Chapter 10Aurora's Hidden Talent

However, he did not know that Aurora was not far away. Aurora woke up in Aflra's arms, her illness significantly improved. Feeling the warmth beside her, she instinctively leaned over and mumbled "Mom" in a daze.

After opening her eyes, Aurora found herself lying in a strange place. Seeing Aflra waking up next to her, she felt a little more at ease. Aflra smiled gently, wrapped the animal skin quilt tightly around Aurora, and then got up to get dressed.

"Beautiful big sister, where is my brother?" Aurora asked.

"Aflra, that's my name. What's yours?" Aflra replied with a smile.

"My name is Aurora, Aflra sister, where is my brother?"

"Don't worry, your brother is outside. You rest well now, I'll go prepare breakfast," Aflra said and left.

Hearing that her brother was outside, Aurora felt much more at ease and soon fell back asleep.

As Aflra stepped out of the cave, she spotted Alison sitting in the corner, lost in thought. When he caught sight of her, Alison gasped, his hand instinctively covering his mouth. He realized his slip of the tongue, a fatal mistake when speaking with wizards. Aflra narrowed her eyes, scrutinizing him until he trembled with fear. Finally, she spoke: "Since you're awake, let's go!"

Alison was bewildered, unsure if Aflra meant for him to leave or to follow her. Despite the presence of two large cats outside, he decided to follow Aflra out of the cave, surmising they might be her pets.

Outside, Phoebe and Kelly were feasting on an antelope. Alison lowered his head, trying his best to avoid the bloody scene. Aflra instructed him to gather dead branches and leaves, piling them under a rack. The task proved challenging for him, and soon he was sweating profusely.

Aflra skillfully prepared a partridge, removing its innards, stuffing it with fruit, and skewering it on a grill. With a wave of her hand, a burst of flame erupted, igniting the pile of firewood. Alison's eyes widened in amazement at the spectacle.

Aflra received a system notification that her skill Flame Blast had rapidly leveled up to its maximum after using the flame wine. Now she could cast the skill in just 0.9 seconds, with a mana consumption of only 0.5 per second. Next, she needed to decide how to further develop and research a new second-ring spell, which would greatly enhance her strength.

Alison, watching from the side, became even more convinced that Aflra was a witch. He couldn't imagine anyone else who could control fire with their bare hands. Soon, the partridge was roasted to perfection, and Aflra coated it with a layer of honey, its aroma enticing. Alison was famished, but in the face of such a delicacy, he dared not reach out easily and could only gaze longingly at Aflra.

Aflra divided the partridge into three portions, handing one to Alison along with a pair of chopsticks. Alison looked at the chopsticks with confusion, not knowing how to use them. Aflra explained, "There are no knives and forks here, you'll have to make do."

Then, Aflra opened the wooden bucket, and the aroma of wine wafted out. "Kid, do you drink alcohol?" Alison nodded eagerly. Aflra poured him a cup and then walked into the cave.

Aurora was still in a daze, and upon being awakened by the smell, she saw Aflra smiling at her. She shyly shrank into the covers, and Aflra gently helped her up, letting her lean against her chest. Aflra fed Aurora some chicken, and the girl devoured it with gusto.

After the meal, Aflra led Aurora out of the cave to bask in the sun. Outside, Alison was already quite drunk. Although the flame wine tasted like fruit juice, it was quite potent, and Alison had quickly become intoxicated. He staggered and shouted at Aflra, "Woman, where's my sister?"

Aflra turned her head, looking at him curiously. Alison waved his fist, threatening to hit Aflra. Aflra frowned, thinking the boy indeed needed a good lesson.

Aurora, hearing her brother's voice, ran over to call him. When Alison saw Aurora, tears streamed down his face, and he then fell into a drunken sleep. Aurora cried and hugged Aflra, who comforted her, checked on Alison, and found that he was merely intoxicated.

Aflra suspected it was the flame wine, but not understanding the concept of drunkenness, she mistakenly thought the monkeys had drugged it. She decided to go out for a while, leaving Phoebe and Kelly to protect Aurora.

"Phoebe, Kelly, come here," Aflra called to the two big cats. The two ran over, wagging their tails ingratiatingly. Aflra warned them to protect Aurora at all costs, or else they would suffer the consequences. The two big cats nodded vigorously.

As Aflra was about to leave, Aurora clung tightly to her leg, fearfully saying, "Sister Aflra, please, don't go. Aurora won't cry anymore, Aurora is scared."

Aflra squatted down, rubbed Aurora's head, and gently said, "Be a good girl, and your sister will be back soon." Aurora reluctantly let go, stretching out her finger. "Sister, pinky swear." Aflra smiled and agreed: "Alright, your sister and you pinky swear, I'll definitely come back early."
