Chapter 15 - Chapter 15Pyrokinesis

Seeing the Clearwater Lake campsite quiet down, Aflra smiled faintly; it was time to make her move again. She looked at the bonfires scattered around the campsite and had a new idea in mind.

The further development of Flame Blast had two main directions: one was the powerful Fireball, and the other was the higher temperature and stronger control of Hand of Flame. But Aflra did not want to choose either of these; she preferred abilities that were more unpredictable.

Today, a new thought occurred to her: Why not improve operational ability? Whether it was Frost Breath or Flame Blast, Aflra had reached the ultimate control. Now, breaking through this limit was a good choice. For instance, she could try to control the flames in the nearby bonfires.

Aflra closed her eyes, focused her mind, and tried to sense the flames around her. She felt the flickering flames in the bonfires as if they had become an extension of herself. She waved her arm gently, and the flames in the bonfires danced along, forming various shapes. She could even separate the flames, guiding them to float in the air.

"That's it," Aflra smiled with satisfaction, "What I want to master is the subtle control of flames, not just sheer power."

As her control over the flames became more and more skilled, Aflra believed she could develop more unique and powerful magical skills. She began to plan her next experiment, preparing to apply this new control ability to actual combat.

Aflra closed her eyes and used her mana to sense the flames in the bonfire. The flames began to change under her control, sometimes spiraling upwards like a snake, as if about to detach from the ground; at other times they sank down, spreading like water towards another bonfire, eventually connecting. Suddenly, a bonfire exploded violently, setting fire to a man sleeping nearby. The man screamed and jumped into the lake, and the Clearwater Lake campsite boiled with activity once again.

Aflra opened her eyes, delighted: Flame Blast had evolved into a new magic Pyrokinesis. She could now control the flames more delicately, change local temperatures, make the flames hotter or colder, even ignite flammable materials. More importantly, she could change the shape of the flames at will.

This change in the magical node made her notice the faint marks in her body, which represented different magical abilities. The new second-ring magic Pyrokinesis gave Aflra two experience points, successfully leveling her to level three, and lit up a new specialty Mana Circuit, which would increase her mana recovery by one point per hour in a natural state.

Although her strength did not increase significantly, Aflra could play with more interesting things. "We can have some real fun now," she muttered excitedly to herself.

Bane, next to her, looked at Aflra speechless. He had already preliminarily understood the character of this future boss and silently mourned for the adventurers. He lowered his head, looked at the skull in his hand, and quietly wiped the saliva from the corner of his mouth. The more he looked, the more he wanted to eat.

The adventurers did not sleep well that night. The originally quiet campsite had turned into a paradise of flames, with various bizarre flame shapes that made them shudder with fear. Some flames turned into the face of a fat woman, some into a fountain, and others into a dancing beauty, and finally into a terrifying monster. The shrill laughter came through the flames, making the adventurers shiver.

Aflra used the Fear Spell to collect fear, constantly recovering mana, casting Pyrokinesis and Frost Breath, creating various terrifying scenes. Until dawn, the adventurers finally survived the night. They began to search the forest and found nothing but a few jackalope corpses that had been gnawed to pieces. These corpses were the result of Bane testing his new body.

The adventurers who had entered the forest and disappeared were found hanging upside down on trees when they were discovered. Aflra had a busy night, not only satisfying her own bad taste but also greatly improving her skill proficiency, especially Frost Breath, which reached 92% proficiency.

After returning to the cave, Aflra brought back a wild boar. Aix and Aurora were very happy because they had been eating fruit for more than a day and almost had diarrhea. However, the presence of Bane made them a bit scared, and Aurora hid behind Aflra. Bane gave an awkward smile, but he forgot that he was now a facial paralysis patient, showing white teeth with a body covered in blood, which scared Aurora back instead.

Aflra comforted Aurora and glared at Bane. Although she didn't like this terrifying giant very much, Aix had to admit that with Bane, a lot of work was undertaken by him. Bane quickly set up the bonfire, lit the flames, dissected the wild boar, threw the internal organs to the two big cats, and skewered the most tender meat for roasting. Seasonings were sprinkled on the meat, salted and honeyed, and the aroma was overflowing, making the two little guys drool.

A delicious roast made the two little guys accept Bane, and even Aflra had to admit that he was a bit better at roasting than her.
