"True star?" Dammy voice sounded out of the frozen Miranda's smartwatch.
"I am asking again, what are you lowies doing here, at the mission point?" The emaciated [ True Star ] asked. Despite his question his tone and gaze suggest he doesn't expect an answer.
"Hey, why did you blast through the wall! I said I will get us all inside!" The purple haired girl came running in shouting. "Hey am talking to you, you thin matchstick on fire! uh? what's going on here?" Upon noticing the group, she became the embodiment of confusion. "Are these the security or the ones we are meant to be careful of? or are we in the wrong place again? or-"*slice*
Dodging the red-glowing vine that seem to come out of nowhere, purple hair disappeared or more accurately, teleported away and appeared near the young priest, throwing her fist straight at his face.
"Watch out, Krisline." The young priest spoke as the fist approached his face.
"Oh, thanks for warning me before I was attacked Brian." Krisline replied in the split second before her fist connected to Brian's face, or at least that was what was meant to happened but never happened as Krisline was back to where she was before she teleported. It was like she was taken back in time to that point.
"No using of powers against each other, we haven't gotten what we came for and Natcom academy students should be on their way here." Burning matchstick instructed his fellow "students", before turning his attention to Lee, who was the one who attacked with the vine. "2 starred uh, even with our limiter on we can still turn you to dust in seconds, so why did you attack lowie?"
"I attacked specifically because I know u would have limiters on as students that you are. So right now you three are at max [ 3 starred ]."
"Stronger [ 3 starred ], lowie. It doesn't matter anyway, you are the strongest of this group and aren't even a [ 3 starred ]." Matchstick retorted Lee's argument, before turning his attention back to the duo, who has been eyeing each other as prey. "You two, go upstairs and get the device. I will stay and kill these lowies, it won't take long."
"You aren't our boss, Gaini. You also don't have to kill them, just knock them out. Kris, let's go."
"Krisline, not Kris."
Brian and Krisline turned to the side and went upstairs through the half broken elevator. As the duo continued their arguments while going up. The group tension, which had reduced when they learned about the limiters, went up again hearing that the Gaini planned to kill them.
"Now, who's going first?" Gaini said as he made a compressed fireball float atop his right hand while putting his left hand behind his back.
*Boom* The compressed fireball flew out and collided with a red-glowing vine. The red vine, 2 meters thick and 15 meters long, got turned into ashes almost immediately it got into contact with the blue fireball. As the compressed fireball, instead of exploding outwards in all direction, exploded straight at the group direction with increasing velocity just to be stopped by Miranda's sonic scream.
Conjuring a hammer, Jake separated from the group in a bid to catch his opponent off guard.
*Bang* Jake's hammer collided with a fireball, sending him back to the group, as soon as he crossed the 15 meters mark of the 30 meters separating his group and Gaini.
*Swoosh* *Swoosh* *Swoosh* *Swoosh* *Swoosh*
In a second, five different fireball got tossed towards the group. Four was blocked by Jonathan's conjured energy shield while the last was blocked by Jake's giant hammer, which seems to grow in size.
*Swoosh* *Swoosh* *Swoosh* *Swoosh* *Swoosh*
Before the group could catch a breather, five more fireball came their way. This time the five fireballs were blocked by Lee's bright red-glowing vines, shaped into a semi circular dome. Each time a fireball hits the dome, its red-glowing properties decrease. "Reinforce me, Jonathan!"
Mustering up all his strength and energy, Jonathan conjured a semi circular dome the same shape and size as Lee's own.
Behind the dome, all the group turned to face Lee, who's face looks more strained than a diarrhea patient.
" How did you know they had limiters on?"
"Common sense, do you think the big academies and the government will permit them coming to this latter-thin side of the universe at full strength? One mistake from them and cities would be wipe out. The difference between star level is too high, am pretty sure the reason we are alive is because he isn't very experienced with his power and he's using us as practice targets."
"True, but what about their security?"
"We really shouldn't be talking about this right now, we should find a way to get out of this mess first. With the way he spoke, I think they aren't the only ones coming for whatever is up th-"
"What about their security?" Dammy's voice cut through Prima's and Lee's conversation.
"That's not what is imp-"
*Boom*
A compressed fireball hit the dome-shaped vine and burnt over half the vines away.
"Answer my question bro, and I will get you out of there." Dammy's voice sounded through Lee's smartwatch again.
"How will yo-" *Boom* " Okay, okay, okay! True stars are rare at this side of the universe because the latter is thinner here. So the maximum star level you could run into here are [ 3 starred ]. The academies normally won't take the ris-" *Boom* "They send them here with limiters after scanning the area and noting that there aren't any abov-"
*Boom*
The vine dome came crashing down as Jonathan's dome took only one hit before dissolving.
*Swoosh* *Swoosh* *Swoosh* *Swoosh* *Swoosh*
Another set of five fireball came flying in, but this time at different speed, some were faster than previous ones and some, slower. One was stopped by Miranda's sonic scream, another by Jake's Hammer, with two being absorbed into Prima's body, turning his body turning blue afterwards.
'Ah, we survived this set, now to take a breather, and wait for Dammy with the hover bus- wait there's one more' Lee's eyes widen, with his thought coming to an halt as he set his sight on the compressed fireball coming straight at him and his unprepared crewmate.
Lee and his crewmate close their eyes and brace themselves for the impact and pain.
*Voom*
Lee and his crewmate looked up to see an unbelievable sight as the last fireball was caught in the hands of Dammy. It was hard to determine what was more unbelievable. Dammy catching a fireball with bare hands? or what he said next?
"Hey there, true star, take me to your academy and I will let you live."
