ELOISE POV—
'ROOOAAAAARRRR!!!!!'
Ah, shit. I knew they were afraid of something. Now, I know what they are afraid of.
We turned our backs to see a large monster, very large monster standing in its full glory.
The monster was very similar to a hybrid of snake and a lion. Maybe some kind of variant of it. It had two heads and 4 hands, two on each side. Its body was that of the snake's whereas the heads and hands were that of the lion. It roared again, showing rows of sharp teeth.
'ROOOAAAAARRRR!!!!!'
Hearing its roar, we took a few steps back. I stuttered, 'Liam! W-hat should w-we... do?'
'I don't know! The only thing I can say is— Run.' As soon as these words left Liam's mouth, we started to run and seeing us fleeing, the monster slithered to follow us.
I yelled, 'Run? You are saying that we run?! Aren't you the prince of beasts?'
'Yes! I am the prince of beasts but this status is only valid back in my world. The world which is no more! This creature is a mindless monster, I can't do nothing about it,' Liam yelled back at me. I knew his title is useless.
'ROOOAAAAARRRR!!!!!' The monster roared again.
'Oi, monster do something new! It's getting old, you fucking bastard.'
'Yes, we are not tasty. I mean, I don't know about her but I am not. Believe me.'
What the heck is he saying?! I yelled, 'Weren't you the one who was saying that this is a mindless monster? Why the fuck are you trying to talk with it? Also, who the fuck tries to sacrifice their master in order to save themselves? You ungrateful cat.' The monster attacked us by slamming his hands on our direction. We dodged it. I guess all these years of training helped me in something. It made me fast and increased my stamina. Also, it increased my reaction speed. Thankfully, due to it having too much mass, we may outrun it.
Agitated by not getting us, the monster attacked us repeatedly in all directions. It slammed its hands and tried to catch us through its teeth. We were lucky to miss all its attack but I don't know how much longer we will be able to avoid it. Just as I was thinking it couldn't get worse, the monster roared and raised one of its head. Beams of light started to gather around its mouth. Fuck!
Liam paled and asked, 'Is it preparing—'
'Yes, it is. This fucking monster is gonna attack us with an energy attack. Liam, brace for impact,' getting enough time, the monster launched the attack, 'NOWW!!!'

I conjured an energy shield with the help of Liam. The attack directly hit on the shield, almost disrupting our running. I am glad that there are no phosphorus trees around us.
'How long it's going to hold?'
'I don't know but we have to create more distance between us,' I yelled. Fuck! It's straining on me too much. I don't know how long I can hold. Even with Liam's support, it's draining me. Cracks were starting to form in the shield. I channelled more energy in order to repair the cracks in the shield but the shield broke down. It's going to hit me directly.
So, this it. I am going to die again. Accepting my fate, I closed my eyes, just to feel someone pushing me out of way. It was Liam. He pushed me out of the way and blocked the attack with his body.
'WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING TO DO YOU IDIOT?! MOVE OUT OF THE WAY.' I tried to get close to him, only to be blocked by an energy barrier.
Liam yelled, 'If I move out the way, it's going to hit you and I don't want that.'
'BUT IF YOU DON'T MOVE OUT OF THE WAY, YOU WILL DIE.'
'Well, I can't let you die now, can I? Better me than you. You are my master. My only friend and family. I don't have anyone except you but you on the other end have a family to return to. Neither I want to be left alone in this world by myself again, nor I want you to die alongside me.'
Tears were leaking from my eyes. I don't want you to die, Liam. Not like this, not by sacrificing your life for someone like me. I conjured an ice-blade and struck repeatedly, in hopes of breaking the barrier down. But all my efforts were meaningless, I was not able even a single scratch, much less break it.
'Liam, stop it. You are only friend. You are also my family. It's my fault, because of me we are here. I should have just taken that wand from Ollivander. I don't want any stupid wand. Stop this madness,' I sobbed.
Hearing my words, Liam smiled sadly and said, 'Your words are enough for me. Don't forget, okay?' The barrier around me thickened.
Liam turned his head towards the monster and yelled, 'Oi, monster! Did you think your pathetic attack was enough to defeat me? The prince of beasts? Think again.'
'ROOAARRR!!!!!!'
'Yahhhh!!!!' yelled Liam. No! Liam, stop it.
