Thinking about what to do next, Luka heard Natalie calling and waving at them from the tent.
"Luka, Feng! Sky woke up!!!" She yelled smiling with relief.
Finally some good news to hear ever since they came here, smile plasted on their faces.
"You go check on her, I'll keep guard" Luka exclaimed.
Nodding then hastened steps, Feng went toward the tent. Wondering even Feng able to make childish cute act, Luka shaked his head smiling then tapped on device bound to his wrist to see if his mechanical spiders got any news.
Surprisingly, they did. He pondered the small screen some blocks and shadowed colums of big rocks forming a loop with crafted symbles ingrained on ground.
Luka sighed with his lips smiled faintly, looks like their luck meter refilled again and a spark of hope in this annoying commission is still there. However, something caught his eyes at one cam of spiders that turned left. Blinking at the gaint funnel storm that swung and harvesting the dunes into its cavity while heading to their location, the boy cried cursing from his bottom caught the three figures attention as they stooped out the tent.
"Luka what wrong?!" Asked Natalie pressing her hands together. Glanced at worried face he replied:
"We need to move! fast! A storm is coming our way" He got up hastened to the tent.
Feeling the panic in his tone, they packed everything and hurried the walk forward. But the sands sluggish them as their feet kept sinking deep. Noticing how pale Sky looked after waking up mintes ago to join them in this hell, Feng lifted her on his back. They remained alert of wind getting stronger with every step they took, ignoring their inwards concerns.
The peeping sound raised from Luka's wrist device, alarmed by it he was almost facepalm by the sight of his spiders being chased by sand worms crawling towards them.
"This commission is just impossible, let's just withdraw" He blankly said.
The storm from behind and worms in front, this land simply running wild rejecting them with calamities.
"W..what...should we do Luka?"
Feng asked struggling to move with heavy Sky on his back. Oddly enough Luka spaced out in horizon with no reply, he doesn't know what to do. Natalie came forward coating and pressing his cheeks between her hands.
"LUKA!!!" She exclaimed startling him, sensing Natalie's termbling hands, she must be the most frightened of this disastrous situation. He gulped recovering from his trance to exclaim hesitantly:
"I...I have a plan, but...probably will be very dangerous so..."
"Just say it already" Sky's faint voice cut him off, she looked tired with almost ghost complexion. He bites his lips saying:
"It's very simple, we'll split into groups, two will go forward and counter the worms,...at least just until I prepare something, I mean some kind of pod I.. I think?"
Marking his words Sky tapped Feng's shoulder to drop her off.
"How much time you need?" She still haven't fully recovered yet but mustered some courage to stand firm.
"Two minutes or maybe three" stated Luka.
"Two it is" Retorted Sky.
Summoning their weapons, both Feng and Sky nodded to each other then charged toward the worms, leaving Luka and Natalie behind.
"You want to make... shield pod?" Asked the latter, and Luka nodded affirmatively.
He pulled most of his things out the ring, he workd fast trying to put piece of electromagnetic plate together while a spider did the welding. Understanding that, Natalie used her affinity as extra shield layer, since how everything rushed out, the durability of it withstanding maybe questionable.
Busy on the pod, they heard the worms roar closer by, as Feng extended his affinity using a metal claw tinted black, the form of his soul weapon.
"Sky now!" Close to where the eyes located, Feng cried.
Jumping high over Feng's extended shadow weapon, she bursted forward thrusting her sword into the other eye instantly the worm waggled aggressively in pain.
A failed attempt of Sky trying to hold a grip on the sword that was halfway its eye, she was slowly losing her grip only to fall down. The girl was too tired, the essential rate was close to zero, and it's seems the illusion Nova made consumed most of it.
Quick to notice, Feng extended the other shadow claws that warped her preventing the land crashing.
Taking the last piece welding it, Luka glanced Sky and Feng situation, in a worry he yelled for them to withdraw.
Supporting Sky and clocking her arm above his shoulder, Feng retreated back to the first spot, only to glimpse a medium black sphere rolled abit by the strong wind next to Luka.
"What is this?!" Feng wondered.
Gritting his teeth with fixed glares at the worm's eyes filled with grudge while crawling fast toward them. Luka clicked on a red button in front of him, caused a small part of the sphere to slide allowing them to enter.
"This just a trial pod I usually made with the old man. Anyway, get in, it's not luxury ride it will be very crowded, however, hang in for awhile"
Lifting her head Sky asked:
"You didn't tell us the rest of the plan?"
Cramming them all inside, Luka chuckled nervously with the surged wind alarming for the nearest storm and the deadly worm on the otherside. Closing the entrance behind he stated:
"Now, we let the worm swallow us" squatted by the entrance, with a fleer he faked a nervous smile, really not sure what he was thinking.
So hearing them cursing and complaining, he took it all magnanimously. Until the world inside of the pod started to spin around and they were upside-down when the worm swallow them and dave into the sand avoiding the storm.
Digging farther down till it paused at a certain point of underground tunnel, the worm couldn't roar properly, uncomfortably with what tormenting its intestine. Like it tried to poke when suddenly a bright red light bursted opening a hole in its stomach, some parts of its flesh pasted across the narrow tunnel. Whimpering in pain the worm stopped moving with light left it iris slowly into dim.
Walking out the dead worm, Feng took couple steps then kneeled on ground coughing with disgusted expression.
" I swear... some sand from your boots went in my mouth"
Following him, Luka spitted on floor to get rid of the sand left overs off his mouth.
"Same goes for me"
Natalie tightened her grip on the entrance, not knowing who's in front of her, the world was still spinning in her head while breathing heavily to calm down.
Startled, Luka glanced back inside the pod only to notice Sky resting her back on plates with potion in her hand.
"You alright? Sky? " He stooped to ask.
