Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7

Prarthana chuckled at her response. "I know she is yours for now, but she has to get married someday," she said gently.

"But Mumma," Saranya protested, still clinging to her sister. "What will I do without her?"

"I will get bored without her. No way, she is not getting married. If you want her to marry, then ask her husband to live here with us. Otherwise, no," Sara said firmly.

"You will not get bored when you get married too," Prarthana replied with a gentle smile.

Before Saranya could say something else, Vanya interrupted, "I left it upon you. You can find a guy for me."

Saranya looked at her sister, surprised. "Di, are you serious?"

Vanya nodded slowly. "Yes, Chiku. Mumma is right. We need to think about the future. But we don't have to rush into anything. Let's take our time and see what happens."

Prarthana sighed in relief. "That's all I'm asking, beta. Just consider it."

Saranya pouted but didn't argue further. "Fine. But I'm still not happy about it."

Vanya hugged her tightly. "No matter if I get married or not, you will always be my first love, cutie," she said affectionately.

Saranya chuckled at her sister's response. Soon, they left their mother's room and went outside.

"Why did you agree, di?" Saranya asked curiously.

"Chiku, Mumma's health is not okay. We shouldn't bother her. As for getting married, I have to do that one day. So if it's for Mumma's happiness, what's wrong with that?" Vanya explained calmly.

"Then what about your boyfriends?" Saranya teased with a grin.

Vanya widened her eyes. "Which boyfriends?"

"Arre, your book boyfriends," Saranya clarified, laughing.

Vanya rolled her eyes playfully. "Oh, those! I can't do anything about that. I have to sacrifice them for now." She replied in a sad tone only to earn a laugh from her.

"Okay, fine, fine. Let's sleep now. I'm too tired," Vanya said, letting out a yawn before wishing her sister a good night.

The next day passed wonderfully for Saranya, and thankfully, she didn't get scolded even once.

Meanwhile, Prarthana was on a call with Rekha. "She has agreed. Now tell me, who is the guy?"

"He is my nephew," Rekha replied. "He is well-educated and a professor. He's a bit introverted, but Vanya would be a good match for him. She is mature enough to handle things."

"What's his name?" Prarthana asked.

"Veer Singhania."

"Oh," She responded thoughtfully.

"I will come with his grandmother tomorrow to discuss with you," Rekha continued.

"Let them meet first and decide things," Prarthana suggested.

"That's a good idea. Well, I will tell you about the venue after discussing with them."

Prarthana agreed.

Time skip at night.

Vidharti and Rekha were engaged in conversation when Veer entered the living room and greeted his aunt.

"Veer, come sit here."

He silently complied and took a seat.

"How have you been?" Rekha inquired.

"Good," He replied shortly.

"It's been a long time since I last saw him," Rekha remarked, while he simply nodded.

There was a brief silence between them.

Rekha continued, breaking the silence, "Veer, we were thinking about your marriage."

He remained silent, but abruptly got up from the couch and began walking away.

"Veer, let us talk for once," Vidharti interrupted, but he turned around sharply.

"Dadi, not today. If you insist, I will go back to Cambridge," he warned sternly.

"Veer, please let her meet you just once. Please, for me," Vidharti pleaded earnestly.

He sighed deeply, taking a breath. "Okay, fine. But just one meeting," he agreed

He sighed deeply, taking a breath. "Okay, fine. But just one meeting," he agreed reluctantly, then turned towards the staircase.

"We'll discuss marriage later," Rekha said hopefully, but Veer shook his head in response. Climbing the stairs, he headed straight to his room, closing the door firmly behind him.
