Chavu wrapped his tail around Marcellus's legs. The bed was just as soft as it had been the first time that the Naga had rested on it. Yet now it felt as hard as stone.
"You did the right thing," Marcellus murmured in the dark, his arms going around Chavu's middle.
"Did I? It didn't feel like it. I took her voice, Marcellus," at the use of his full name, Marcellus knew that the things were dire. For, Chavu loved calling him Marcy and teasing him.
"She killed her brother, in cold blood," Marcellus reminded the Naga. If the vampire had his way, Goglina would have been flogged, and then beheaded. Some things did not deserve forgiveness.
However, Chavu had been adamant that it was partly his fault. That, if he hadn't taken over the goblin tribe, Goglina would have remained under Alaric's rule as a council woman and been happy.
Marcellus had to disagree with that.
