Chapter 42 - What is your opinion

Aiden then took a glass of wine as he drinks, as Maia was next too him as she spoke. "So did you meet all us".

Aiden looked at her as he spoke. "Nope, the only two princess knight I haven't meet in the part are Claudia and... Alicia".

Luu Luu looked at him as she spoke. "Last I check she doesn't like, for the whole".

Aiden finished for her. "Being a monster, yeah no shit, I wouldn't say she is hater, more like she is more Normal".

Luu Luu looked at him as she spoke. "Normal?"

Aiden gave her a Deadpan face. "You guys have been figthing monster and the dark queen forces for years, under the names of Celestine in war, and then I show up in the Nuteral zone with my monster Village where my monster are more human like and are living in peace".

Maia nodded in understanding. "Yeah, I guess from her perspective, that's a hard pill to swallow. Years of fighting monsters, only to suddenly be told not all of them are bad. It's gotta mess with someone's worldview."

Aiden took another sip of his wine before setting the glass down. "Exactly. She's not a bad person—just conditioned to see things in a certain way. People fear what they don't understand, and Alicia? She just needs time to wrap her head around it."

Luu Luu crossed her arms. "And what about Claudia? Any thoughts on her?"

Aiden smirked. "Claudia? She's different. Out of all the princess knights, she's the one who actually gets it. She knows the war isn't black and white. She's a soldier first, and that means she's willing to adapt to the situation."

Maia chuckled. "So what you're saying is… Alicia's gonna be a pain in the ass to deal with, while Claudia's more reasonable?"

Aiden shrugged. "More or less. Alicia might be stubborn, but I'm not worried. If I had to bet on someone to see reason, it'd be her."

Kaguya, who had been silently listening, finally spoke up. "And if she doesn't?"

Aiden looked at her with a confident grin. "Then I'll just have to make her understand. One way or another."

Before anyone could comment further, a voice suddenly cut through their conversation. "And just how do you plan to do that, Slime King?"

Turning their heads, they saw Claudia approaching, her piercing gaze locked onto Aiden. Behind her, a slightly more hesitant Alicia followed, her expression guarded as she studied him.

Aiden smirked, raising his glass slightly in greeting. "Well, speak of the devils."

Claudia looked at him as she spoke. "So oh great slime king tell me".

Aiden rolled his eyes as he spoke. "I would but do stop talking like it is the first time we met".

Claudia looked at him as she spoke. "As you wish"

Maia then spoke looking at him. "If we go by order, you meet me first when I came too Nuteral Zone on mission too investigation Great Red, after that I went too your Village and I told Celestine sama, then she sent me and Claudia and Prim, then you gave us that sword which you told told too give Luu Luu"?

Aiden then spoke looking at her. "Which she then came rushing too know how I made, so I meet her fourth and during the whole Orc degaster thing, when you guys cane for help, I meet, Kaguya and Alicia for the first time, and even Celestine sama face too face".

Claudia nodded as she crossed her arms, a small smirk forming. "So, you've been keeping track, huh? I suppose that means you've had time to form opinions on all of us."

Aiden took another sip of his wine, his usual confident expression not wavering. "Of course. Gotta know who I'm dealing with, after all."

Alicia, who had remained silent until now, finally spoke up, her voice carrying a slight edge. "And what exactly is your opinion of me, then?"

Aiden set his glass down and looked directly at her. "You're skeptical. You've spent years fighting monsters, and now you're being told not all of them are bad. It doesn't sit well with you, and I get that. But that doesn't mean you're unwilling to listen—you're just stubborn."

Alicia's expression tightened slightly. "So you think I can just… change my mind overnight?"

Aiden chuckled. "No, I don't. I think you're gonna resist it every step of the way. But I also think you're not the type to ignore the truth once it's right in front of you."

Alicia frowned, looking like she wanted to argue, but Claudia cut in before she could. "And what about me?"

Aiden smirked at her. "You? You're a soldier. You see the bigger picture. You know war isn't black and white, and you're willing to adapt. That's why you're standing here, talking to me, instead of trying to kill me like a certain someone was probably thinking about."

Alicia shot him a sharp glare, but Maia snorted. "He's not wrong."

Claudia hummed in amusement, but her sharp eyes never left Aiden's. "You're pretty observant for a slime."

Aiden leaned back slightly, his smirk widening. "I have to be. I run a village full of monsters who just want to live in peace, but peace doesn't come easy when people like you have been trained to see us as nothing but enemies."

Alicia narrowed her eyes. "And yet, despite everything, you act like you don't have a care in the world."

Aiden's smirk faded slightly, replaced by something more calculating. "Because if I don't, who will?"

For a moment, there was silence. Even Kaguya, Maia, and Luu Luu seemed to be watching the exchange with interest.

Then, Celestine's voice rang out as she approached. "I see you're all getting along."

Aiden glanced at her before picking up his glass again. "You could say that. Just having a friendly discussion about perspective."

Celestine gave him a knowing smile before turning to Claudia and Alicia. "I hope you're both willing to listen to what Aiden has to say. He's not like the monsters we've fought before."

Claudia nodded, but Alicia still looked uncertain. "We'll see," she muttered.

Aiden simply grinned. "Take all the time you need. I'm not going anywhere."

Aiden then looked at them as he spoke. "Now if you don't mind me, I am gonna go ams talk too the two people I brought with me".

He walked away, as he found both Tamamo and Radomira, as they saw him as they walked up too him

Aiden looked at his girlfriend's as he spoke. "So enjoying this place".

Tamamo laughed as she spoke. "Not really, the Noble are not really that fun, it is basically a how much gold do you have computation with all of them".

Radomira then spoke looking at him. "Not mention the looks the males are giving me".

Aiden chuckled as he spoke. "Says the succubus Goddess".

She rolled hee eyes as she leaned into him. "You as well I know that even do I am succubus, I am only interested in getting does types of attention from you".

Aiden smiled at her, a teasing glint in his eyes. "Ah, so I'm the special exception, huh?"

Radomira grinned, her eyes full of mischief. "Of course. You're the only one who can handle me." She leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a playful whisper. "But don't let that get to your head."

Tamamo, watching the exchange with amusement, raised an eyebrow. "And here I thought I was the one who had to keep you both in check."

Aiden chuckled softly. "You? Keeping me in check? That's cute." He gently wrapped an arm around Radomira's waist, pulling her a little closer as they continued walking. "But you're right, this place is a bit… stifling. It's all about power, wealth, and prestige, and the nobles seem like they're all trying to one-up each other."

Radomira's lips curled into a smirk as she glanced at the crowd around them. "I'm sure they'd love to try and one-up you, though, Aiden."

Aiden raised an eyebrow, his smirk matching hers. "Let them try. At least I'm not pretending to be something I'm not. Besides, I'm more than happy to watch them squirm."

Tamamo, ever the calming influence, placed a hand on Aiden's shoulder. "Just don't make too much of a scene, alright? We don't want to end up causing another spectacle."

Aiden chuckled and nodded. "I'll try to keep it subtle. But, no promises."

Radomira raised her head with an amused glint in her eyes. "You never were one for subtlety, Aiden."

Aiden grinned back at her. "I prefer making an impression."

Tamamo shook her head but smiled. "I suppose that's true."

The three of them walked through the grand hall, the conversation light and playful as they navigated the sea of aristocrats, none of them really caring for the pomp and circumstance of it all. Aiden's mind, however, was already elsewhere, considering his next moves. His attention was on the way things were playing out, and how he could shake things up in a way only he could. He always had a knack for stirring the pot.

Later that night as the part came to an end, Celestine, Aiden and Olga were standing next too Eachother, Olga too Celestine right and Aiden to Celestine left, as Celestine looked at the Crowd of People as she spoke. "From this night and onward a new era has started, a era of peace"

Aiden felt a small hesitate in her voice as he spoke in his head. "She Hesitated but why? does have too do with her future sight? the events of Kuroinu 2 won't happen, Radomira is a different person, she literally has the sole of my girlfriend from my past life! Will what ever Happens I will deal with in the future".

As the last of the noble guests filtered out from the grand hall, Celestine's gaze lingered on the crowd, her face calm but her thoughts clearly racing. The weight of the declaration she'd just made—the start of a new era of peace—hung in the air. Yet, there was something in her tone that gave Aiden pause. A hesitation, barely noticeable, but still there.

He looked at her, quietly analyzing her demeanor. What's really on your mind, Celestine? Aiden thought, his mind racing. He could feel a slight tension emanating from her, a subtle shift in her energy. The confidence in her voice might have been clear, but her body language betrayed a flicker of uncertainty.

Is it the future sight? he wondered, as his eyes subtly shifted to the side, where Olga stood. The Dark Queen was a presence in her own right—calm, composed, and almost impervious to the emotional currents surrounding them. Yet even she seemed to be quietly watching Celestine, almost as if waiting for something to happen.

Aiden's mind drifted to the future and the paths they were walking. He couldn't help but think about the weight Celestine carried, knowing the events that were yet to unfold, ones that might differ from what she saw in her visions. He'd already started feeling the divergence from the predicted timeline, especially with Radomira's rebirth and her bond with him. The future of Kuroinu 2? The loss, the suffering, the rebellion? He couldn't allow it to happen again—not with the people he loved, not with the choices he had made.

But will it happen? he mused, the question swirling around in his mind. The events of Kuroinu 2 were driven by things beyond anyone's control… but what about now?

He glanced at Olga, noting how she appeared far more detached from Celestine's declaration, as if she didn't feel the same uncertainty, but rather, the quiet satisfaction of the moment. The peace they had all worked toward, but was it truly as certain as it seemed?

Celestine's voice interrupted his thoughts, her eyes finally meeting his.

"Aiden," she said softly, as though drawing him into her world of questions and concerns. "I don't know if you felt it, but this peace—it feels fragile."

Aiden nodded, his own voice calm but tinged with the certainty he had in his own heart. "Nothing's ever permanent. But as long as we're here, we'll fight for it. Together."

Olga, still standing there, crossed her arms with a knowing smile. "How very noble. But I suppose that's what makes you… special, isn't it?"

Aiden's lips curved into a grin. "I do try."

Celestine's eyes softened at his words. "I know, Aiden. But the path ahead… it may not be as simple as you think." Her gaze flickered toward the horizon, where the last of the night's light was fading away. "Even with all the changes, some things may remain the same."

Aiden tilted his head slightly, the words lingering in the air. "Some things are inevitable, but that doesn't mean we can't change the rest."

Olga's eyes glinted with amusement as she looked from Celestine to Aiden. "It's a strange mix of hope and destiny, isn't it?"

Celestine didn't reply immediately, her silence speaking volumes. Then, after a long pause, she finally spoke. "Hope is the only thing we can control. And maybe that's enough."

Aiden felt that hesitation again, but this time, he understood it. It wasn't fear or uncertainty about the future—it was something deeper. A recognition of how much more was at stake now, and how the paths they had walked, or would walk, were intertwined with forces beyond anyone's comprehension.

Aiden's resolve only grew stronger as he spoke, his voice steady. "Whatever comes, we'll face it together. That's a promise."

Olga, raising an eyebrow, gave Aiden a sidelong glance. "Ah, always the optimist."

Aiden met her gaze with a small smirk. "Someone's gotta be."

As the night continued to wind down, the three of them stood side by side, silently acknowledging the new chapter in their lives. Whatever the future held, Aiden knew one thing for certain: the battles might change, but they would never face them alone.
