"Where is he going without eating?" Levi flashed confliction-rattled eyes at Steven, who was leaving the office.
At Abby's house, Abby's father's scrutinized eyes were fixed on the TV screen, which was exposing an unidentified woman running away with Steven in the wedding dress.
The CEO of the famous KYEO company and the so-called popular model, Mr. Steven Harlet, is now receiving hatred from every corner of the city for running away with the unknown bride. That bride's face is still unrevealed because of privacy.
"C.E.O?" Abby's father's jaw dropped in shock. He couldn't believe his eyes. He squeezed it and read the news again.
Abby was walking here and there at the gate, splashing, anxious, and expecting his car. To her prosperity, his car came into her sight. A smile approached the corner of her lips. "He came!"
Her excitement turned into regret after noticing him driving past her without even spotting her waving hands.
"Aish!" She grinted her teeth but was quick enough to control it, advising herself, "He's here to save your one year, Abby. Treat him nice for a moment."
She ran behind his car until it reached the parking area. He then got out of the car and threw the baggage on her. It slammed her face before falling into her arms.
Actually, it irritated her. However, she suppressed it by forcing a grateful smile.
She then amassed her hall ticket, phone, and other miscellaneous on his hands before veering around to leave.
As she headed to the restroom, he checked the hall number in her hall ticket and went there straight.
Abby ran to the parking area after changing into a shirt and long skirt. Then she accidentally spotted Steven's presence in front of her hall.
"What is he doing there?" She questioned herself, bewildered. Thereafter, she hurried there.
"Here you go," she handed him the old dress, brought back her things, and quickly ran in.
"What's your name?" Steven asked authoritatively, which snatched both Abby's and the hall supervisor's attention while he was allowing her in.
Observing Steven's office suits and the handsome, courageous aura, he replied politely with uncertainty, "Harlen. It's Harlen." Presenting a slightly furious glare, he warned him, "You look young. Don't you know how to be polite? Watch your behaviour."
Steven nodded sarcastically and then walked off the verandah.
A few minutes later, he came out of the college chairman's office room while two staff were rushed in.
Steven left the campus with his car.
The same two staff arrived at Abby's exam hall with another professor.
"Mr. Harlan? Can you come out, please?" One of the staff asked him in a formal tone.
Harlan came to them.
Without informing him of anything, the other professor went inside.
"We are sorry to say this, Mr. Harlen. But you're being fired." They informed him as his confused eyes watched that professor getting inside.
Harlan's confusion turned into shock. "W-what w-what are you saying?" He stammered, unaware of the reason.
Abby was confused. "Why is he fired out of the blue?" She thought to herself, fixing her sight on crestfallen Mr. Harlen, who was being dragged away from the hall.
"At least give me a reason!" Harlen bellowed in anxiety while he was being dragged forcefully along the verandah.
"Ms. Abigail?" The new professor sought her attention.
She switched her eyes to him. "Huh?"
"Just focus on your exam." He voiced kindness, which sowed a little suspicion in her mind. Despite that, she nodded and brought her attention together on the exam, inciting, "Don't let that distract you, Abby."
Steven came and had his breakfast silently, unlike earlier.
"Why did you fire that professor, and why did you go there all of a sudden?" Levi interrogated while he was charging his body and cooling his tension just by having tasty food.
"He wasted my precious time," Steven responded shortly, continuing to eat.
Levi flashed a shrunken look. Yet, he couldn't catch up with his meaning.
"She runs away with that rich bastard? Rich people! How did she choose him all of a sudden? Or did they plan this all this time?"
Abby's father, walking here and there in tautness, couldn't rest ever since knowing Steven was a rich person. He was more worried about how Steven would treat his daughter because all he knew about wealthy people was that wealthy men always sought another woman, even though he had a loving wife. Unfortunately, everyone knew Abby was an adamant and dominant woman who badly wanted to live for her passion. So he was visibly afraid of how she would behave with Steven.
"I must find them before anything would happen to my daughter!" He voiced anxiety and disquieted.
The clock ticked 2:00 pm. The exam finished.
A relaxation bloomed in Abby's face when she stepped out of the exam hall.
"Abby!" Her friend, Annie, screamed her name and ran, parting the crowd in the verandah.
Abby veered around and looked at her collecting breath to inform her something.
"What?" Abby asked.
"Do you know why Mr. Harlen got fired out of the blue?" Annie's voice dripped with mystery.
"Why?" Abby made a curious face.
"It's-"
Abby glimpsed Duri coming along the verandah towards them. Fear rented her face right away; she failed to hear Annie saying, "That's your contracted husband, Mr. Steven. He complained to the chairman and fired him for stopping you from entering the exam hall."
She grasped Annie's hand, scurriedly nodding to her without even hearing her properly, and dragged her and ran away from there as soon as possible before Duri's glance caught her.
