I looked around my new office and touched the name plate on the table, it was bearing my name. Yesterday I was working my ass of cleaning the whole school and today I'm here in my own office, my life is indeed full of surprises.
I slumped on the sit and swirled around with crossed legs, feeling extremely good. Being filthy rich would fit me soo much, I giggled at that thought.
Now no one is going to bully Wenie anymore, I'd make sure of that.
Light taps on the door made me tilt my head
"Come in" who could it be?
"Hello there!" Cassandra closed the door behind her and smiled at me.
"A pleasant morning, isn't it?" I returned the smile as she took a sit.
"Someone is already settling in and getting into role" I laughed
"And Mr. Wilson?" I asked tentatively
She came closer and whispered in my ear
"Girl, he is in full demon mood!" We both giggled "I just had to escape.. and by the way, you're looking really beautiful Jena"
"Well thanks but I'm really curious as to how you managed to remain his secretary for a long time, how are you putting up with him?" I was genuinely curious because I know Cassandra can easily get another job.
"Well.." she sighed "Mr. Wilson is my father" I didn't see that statement coming and surprise was evident on my face, Mr. Wilson, her father?? they are so different!
"I know what you are thinking but I'm a child of his first wife so he doesn't hit on me, his mistress and her two sons already have him around their fingers, he actually doesn't bother about me and my mom anymore but I won't say he maltreated us or anything"
"And my mom doesn't care anyway, she's focused on her career and they are most probably divorced now. I'm not about to sit around and watch two bastards inherit all his properties, so I'm here. I so much anticipate the expression on their faces when they find out this school doesn't belong to him anymore and before they think about asking for the money I'd make sure I already have a good amount of it under my possession" she smirked.
"And oh! your friend is so crazy.. that Alfred of a girl or whatever!" she seemed to recall something funny as she laughed to herself.
"What's your mother's career?" I wanted to know
"Umm.. she's a.. I mean she have always wanted to be a model so.. she... she still hasn't given up on it just yet" she said awkwardly.
"It's nothing to be shy about, now I get where the looks hail from" I eyed her up and down.
She is quite a beautiful lady, her long curly blonde locs was over her shoulder, she had dark eyes and lips tinted with a pink gloss in a perfect light skinned face.
"Well, there is another reason I'm here, Principal Wilson also asked me to come fill you in on details and everything" she brought out some files
"Fill these in first"
"Let's get to it!" I sat up
She was already giving out directions like the professional she was.
"For the first few weeks I'd mostly be around here.."
-Voices blurred-
...
With Cassandra's coaching my first day was great, other days followed also with me almost blowing my cover a few times but Cassy was always to the rescue with her professionalism. I gave my best and took work serious inspite of Alfred literally telling me we owned the school every time on the phone and soon I was doing great on my own, we were always in touch and there was never a dull moment, her driver always picked me up and brought me back, life didn't feel so bad for a while.
"Jena?.. Jena?" My mom was calling for me while looking around inside
"Over here" I had to shout to her to let her know I was outside. I was reading a book from my shelf to pass time and there was power outage - actually we haven't paid the bills yet it was evening, the house was a little dark and my phone battery was dead so I was outside in other to see the words in the book clearly.
She joined me outside shortly
"Jena.. your father called" I froze, we hadn't been able to contact him ever since he left, I closed the book and kept it aside.
"How sure are you that he is the one?" I asked to make sure.
"It was him Jena, and.. and he didn't sound like he is totally fine, he may be facing great difficulties where he is, I recognized his voice though the call was very brief before it abruptly hanged up. I tried calling back but it wasn't connecting" her shoulders were slumped and she was looking very worried.
My arms slipped around her in a comforting embrace and I couldn't stop my own tears.
"It's .. it's gg.. going to be... okay" I said more to myself and sniffed.
"Mom, I'm sure dad is doing just fine" I reassured her
"What.. what if there is a possibility that he's d.. de-"
"No!" I didn't even let her complete her that word, I dreaded such thought.
"My father is still alive and I know it, I can feel it so mom don't say such anymore please?" I made her promise me and she nodded.
She chuckled "now look at you comforting me, something I'm supposed to do"
"It should be the other way round, what do I do without you?" She smiled and I was glad the smile was back.
"I'm closing the ice cream bar" she suddenly said and I was taken aback.
"Why?"
She sighed "I'm changing business, I've been able to save a little money for a while with this thought in mind and the money available now can set a good start"
"And what's your next line?" I definitely wasn't expecting her to have this plan and it was actually good as the ice cream bar hardly generated enough income.
She had a far away look in her eyes as she said "what I was doing before.. Julie's Fashion Way is coming back to life"
I fell silent remembering her once successful establishment, Fashion Way she almost had her clothing line and was a great designer.. Why. Did. This. Have. to. Happen?
Unwilling to sink into the pain of the past, I asked her "when are you planning to start?"
"I have made necessary arrangements and rented a good place for it.. and your friend lended me a little hand" she smiled
"Alfred??" Her expression said 'obviously'
"It's late, come in for dinner" she said and strode inside.
I stayed back thinking, Alfred lended her a hand? Well thank her, but she better get herself back here soon because I really needed an explanation.
I stood up and made my way inside, I had a little money now and though my mom refused at first, I insisted for her to accept it and add to the capital for her business.
...
At some point Alfred's driver had decided to leave the car with me and I had to drive myself to school.
I had arrived very early in the morning looking as gorgeous as I could be and walked into my office in style, Cassandra had taught me to own the world with my steps as I was always walking with slumped shoulders and my head bowed and the was one of the many things I learned perfectly.
Principal Wilson had gotten off my back also, only showing his face when necessary and he had also started the necessary renovations needed at Hills Academy.
I made to open the door, only to find out it wasn't locked. Why? I made sure to lock it up, so I wasn't expecting it to be opened.
But then.. I brought my ears close to the door as it picked up really weird sounds coming from the office, somebody was in there.. no, it sounded like two voices.
I opened the door and a very crazy sight greeted me, a guy was sitted on my sit with a girl straddling him, the girl's upper clothes were already scattered on the floor and her skirt slid up baring her thighs, the guy's suit jacket was covering the computer on my table, it looked like it was just discarded and flung to any direction, there by, landing on my computer.
The files and things on my table were no longer in place. What. The. Fuck?!
They were so busy sticking their tongues down each other's throats that they didn't notice I had walked in.
Who the hell were this two freaking people??!!
A wicked thought flashed in mind and I picked up my phone and turned on the camera, it recorded for a few seconds when I suddenly remembered something, breathing became hard and I turned off the camera immediately. No! I can't do this, I shoke my head and took deep breaths.
"You two... Leave" I said quietly
The both of them separated from each other immediately upon hearing my voice, they looked shocked while the girl tried to cover herself with her arms, hiding her face.
"The hell do you think you are?" The boy asked in annoyance "how dare you barge in here??!"
"I can't possibly 'barge' in to my own office right?" I smirked
"Yo.. your office? what do you mean by your office?!" He sneered, he didn't believe me.
The girl finally raised her head to look at me and when our gaze met, my heart shook terribly and I tried very hard to keep the neutral expression on my face, Bri... Brianny??!!, what was she doing here? Why did I have to see again?? Why?? Just why??.
She looked shocked to see me at first, before a smug smile slowly curled on her lips.
Anger and hate rose in my heart and I immediately regretted not continuing with the video earlier.
"Hi Jennaaa!!" That was Cassandra's voice, she called excitedly from outside as she opened the door and walked in only for an extremely disgusted expression to appear on her face.
"You????"
